Re: Mixed Pep/Foam War Machine and Gatling Gun with Stronger Mount and other WM weapo
BIG NOTE TO PEP BUILDERS!!!! RESIN ASAP WHILE CARDSTOCK IS CRISP AND DRY!!! IT WILL SAG AND WARP WITH HUMIDITY AND TIME!!! That is all caps because I darn near lost a couple of weeks of work!:facepalm:facepalm:facepalm
Just put resin on my chest and back! It was almost a disaster! :sick
The humidity down here is close to 90% so I just this morning found my torso peps sagged into a wet mess on my work table! :confused While today was intended to be a resin day, I spent an un-necissary hour plus salvaging what should have been an in an out job!:behave
I think I was able to salvage it. Here are some pics.
You can see the warps and buckles across the upper back, this had happened everywhere!!!:cry
I was able to tape/shim with sticks and prod 95% of it back into shape while it was curing! The rest will have to wait until Bondo and sand.
Davy, (one of my inspirations) our recently finished Iron Man builder gave me the advise to do ONE piece at a time...If I had done that, this would not have happened.. Life happens! I had INTENDED to resin this last weekend, but; (insert long list of personal and work disasters here LOL!)
Here is a unique picture that I have not seen on RPF before, so thought it looked cool to share; There are some minor warps that a little heat may fix.

Here is the upper torso from the top!
I am thinking that those pep'd hatch covers up near where the gun goes will be bondo'd over, then I"ll cut actual hatch covers out of plastic like formica or thin Micarta for more "realistic" looking hatches.
Making progress as well, even though the picture is pre resin
I can assure you they have had resin put on them this very morning! LOL! That will never happen again! Too much at stake!!
