My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY) New Model done! a new construction starts!!!

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)-mega failure, back to the drawing board!!!

Lordy you are fast! I knew you were working on it though! LOL! I think I understand too why most everyone except for the 3D printer guys end up going back to the basics and glassing their armor.... There really are very few successful shortcuts!:cry
Glad you are back on track! We are so at close to the same stages and it is good to have a partner in armor!:lol

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)-mega failure, back to the drawing board!!!

Well, I tweaked the file even more, now only 45 pages and 116 parts to make the whole thing, also I just figured out that the less parts the stronger is the torso cause is less gluing that means less weak points...Well I may be wrong too but this time the chest feel firmer and the details came out a little cleaner

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)-mega failure, back to the drawing board!!!

Back is all done; Now working on editing the lower torso to see how does it work and I will post the measurement; that is some funny looking file thou, I will see how it look sin paper then see if foam is the way to go...

I'm actually putting it together right now, I used 1.79 but I have not tried yet, is a pain in the butt I will be editing it a little more....I will send it to you and electraflier once I'm done tweaking it around....

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

So today I was looking at my finished torso and took the idea from electraflier and made me a stand for it, also decided to start making the gatlin gun, or at least the barrel:

$13 dollars later and I got all the PVC pipes and some 1/2" tubes made by sharkbite at home depot, these pipes are lighter than regular PVC pipes, but they are really hard to cut o bend which is really good.

First the frame I'm going to be using a lot to hold the parts and resin stuff up:

So I got the gatlin gun parts from wodersquid but the holes on the braces were not big enough for the pipes to pass thru so I took my dremmel and a tip with the coarse sand paper on it and started to take layer by layer all around until the pipe fit...

Then I started to put the barrel together starting with the tip:
the brace that holds the pipes had to be dremmeled (made up word) also the I had to add a thin strip of foam so the brace can fit on the tip of the gun:

And here is the barrel all put together:

Towards the end I manage to cut myself, my wife says to go to the hospital cause it is 11:39 pm and still bleeding, is deep but I think they only going to give me one or two stitches so I have some of that surgical glue and I will put some of that and that will take care of it: I cleaned it a bit does not look that big but I move my finger and is a big gash...

Well off to bed cause I'm really tired, so tomorrow the weather is going to be awesome to resin the torso and also work on the abs and cod piece...

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

This electraflier guy must be an Einstein LOL!:rolleyes LOve your stand! :love
I cant wait to see the gun finished. I dont have mine yet, but I am very excited about it!
I was also wondering, did you try to sand the rondo? If so how does it sand?
Last question,(for now hehe) at what place did you cut your chest back piece apart? I see no good spot to do it, a place where when it is put back together it will line up good and not have a loose huge seam or gap!
Thanks, my brother!
M

P.S.

about the finger....Its just a flesh wound!:cry

Hey Brother; yeah just a hobby hazard ahhahahah just got back from the freaking doctor, thank goodness he works on Saturdays and two freaking stitches later I'm fine hhahahaha ended up being worse than I think it was...
As or the rondo I have not done anything on the new torso, it can be sanded and worked on nicely, but is better or the inside of the back, I think I'm going to use fiber glass, is lighter a little more work but I think is better...I think the best part to cut it is the two shoulder tabs start going down to the chest then make a wall with some rondo and include the magnets on it...I'm taking some pictures to show you where to cut, so look at my next post I'm showing the magnets and were to cut...

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

How big are the pvc pipe for gun 1/2 inch?

Re: My HD War Machine suit (PIC-HEAVY)update-and first injury...

Can't wait to see the product, I'm still trying to get this as good as I can, still looking for another files for the legs to make them more detail and little more accurate, does not have to be spot on but a least closer to the movie. I found a site that makes paper toys and they use pepakura to make them and I found these pictures:
