ya but i wish i got a better shot. it was a aluminum collar with a step on it. the actual center button had a chrome wrinkly finish. it also had a screw off to right of it. i didnt try to push it in. as for sitting on it, i never even asked, he was like go ahead and sit on it. now that i got it more thought out when i make my return trip ill get straight on overhead shots of everything. i think you can zoom in and get a good look.

when i zoomed and looked again i can see the same yellowed glue that held the tank badges on around the button.

Those are awesome shots, Thanks! Its cool to see some new angles that just arent possible with the hollywood bike!

Back on topic, kind of... Today's the day my daughter gets her birthday present bike. I'll post pictures this evening.

sounds great! post those birthday pics up.. also whats a frame drop out? and can you post a pic of one?

I believe a dropout is where the wheel mounts to the frame. I dont know anything about BMX stuff, maybe they have a different type of dropout than a cruiser.

Michael,
Did you happen to get the height of the black collar on that red button?
That screw to the left between the badge and the red button is there because of the vacuum form, they pulled it over an original tank, the original tank mount hole is in that location and was not deleted in the original tank so the impression is left there. Came out the same on my tank, so I added a screw there also.

Also is the center button is a push button? and not a greenlight like someone suggested.

Did you happen to confirm the thickness of the pinstripe tape?

Thanks for posting the saddlebag measurements. I must admit that I'm afraid to measure my bags now because I'm sure my estimated measurements were way off. Haha.

Congrats and thanks on the pics/measurements!

Finally got my dent pulled out and filled and tomorrow I'm handing it over to my painter. Been spending all of Jan stockpiling parts.

Going to start fabricating the bags, is there a foam block that you guys recommend using and is there a good place to pick up large blocks of it?

There are two main types of foam to use. Open cell and closed cell foam.

I actually used both in my build, but would recommend using the open cell poly urethane.
it is better for fiberglassing or just coating if you go in that direction.

One is available at the local home depot for cheap like 10.00-15.00 for a 4'x8'x3" sheet. this is the EPS, you need to use a foam safe primer on this or some people use coats of elmers glue to create a hard shell. You can also get a foam coating that is used for special effects. This foam is more like the green foam for floral art.

The other foam is basically what is used in surfboards- is usually yellow- way more pricey, but can be easier to shape with sandpaper or chisel, you want to get 8-10 pound density and softer and a light scrape will leave a gouge. this foam you can shoot a heavy primer and then and smooth and shoot paint over.

take a look a the modeling section of the forum and search for foam, there is a lot of good info on the subject.

My daughter really liked her bike. When she saw it I think she was a little confused, she asked how I got my bike so small, lol. She gave me a big hug, and took it on a quick ride. I had to adjust the seat and stem down as far as they would go, and she still has to hop a little to get on it. I'm going to keep working on it though. I think I may build her some non functional saddlebags next.

Here is a link to a short clip of the bike being ridden, and here's a picture of me with it, as a size comparison. I'm only 5'10".
