Pee-Wee's Big Adventure Bike

No just tired of being corrected AGAIN!!! :behave if you get a Schwinn fender then that will be right! all fenders have a beaded edge of some sort I was trying make it simple I can see that my knowledge on here is pretty much not approved by the "art director" :confused

Jamie, I dont think Abe was trying to correct you. I think he was just pointing out what is on the Hollywood Pee Wee Bike. We are just trying to make an accurate list of components that were on the original bicycles. From what ive read about schwinns, depending on what year or what factory the fender was made the lines on the eges of the fender are more pronounced.

That being said, obviously we all have different levels of accuracy we are all shooting for. What small detail matters to some of us may not matter to others. In my case, i realize the Hollywood bicycle front fender does not have the indents for the springer but i want them on my bicycle only because i dont want the fender to scrape... That may change if i happen to find a cheap fender before my bike gets painted. Here is a pic below in case anyone doesnt know what we are talking about.

just bought this from Craigslist. Admiral built by Schwinn. guy said it was a 51 but im not sure? the frame looks similar to my PW dx but its got some weird stuff.. its gotta sweetheart skiptooth sprocket. rear hub has these bolts to tighten to adjust chain. the chain guard has clamps in rear an front to holdon. the front fork has a working key to lock it..number underneath is h57498 its decked out in a old houspaint patina but is not really that bad, definatly rideable with some work. also has these clunky us royal master tires on it. guy says it hasnt been ridden in 30 years and was his dads..anyone know what it is?

Yeah I'd like to.. I was gonna post a few after I finished painting everything.
I'm actually not using a Schwinn though, So I'm hoping everything will look semi okay. At least until I can get my hands on a frame.

I'm just using it for a Pee Wee Inspired short film

Also! I just came across this and thought I'd share it.

Kxazbug,
Your new bike is an older version of a DX, are you talking about the rear dropouts facing towards the rear with an adjuster screw instead of the hooked style. Most people say that determines the frame being pre45 or prewar.

Cool bike. What are you going to do with it? As long as we're posting off-topic bikes, I just bought this '42 Snyder built Hawthorne off of Craigslist.

ya similar to the bike Ruddigger posted , thats how the chain adjusts.dude thats a sweet bike also!..im planning on lubing it, putting new tubes in it and using it as my coffee shop diner run rider..this thing looks old as dirt in person and has plenty of patina. i did some investigating and i think its either a 39 40 or 41? it has a morrow i belive rear hub and the kickstand bolts on with a big plate.

Small progress. I bought a more correct heavy duty wheelset and put the correct clover sprocket and takagi crank on it. It feels good to finally have chrome wheels.
