Pee-Wee's Big Adventure Bike

dude bike looks really cool, your daughter looks really happy with it.. my daughter is 8 and loves big adventure..looks like shes about the same age. my favorite movie misquote from my lil girl " I dont make monkeys i just sell them!" followed then by me and my son asking her how much for a monkey..she can do a mean tequila dance though.

you guys in Cali have such nice weather, its cold rainy and icy here. Abe i didnt get a hieght measurement on that red and black button but i can tell you the silver "button" was not a green light. also i am wondering if it is a button by fact it had glue on edges and a torx screw off to right of it. most buttons i see have a jam nut to hold in place. its like its glued in place. hopefully on my next trip up i can confirm what it really is. im going to be starting on my top case next week, ill take pictures and post how i make it, same process i used on side cases..kind of a step by step guide.

My daughter really liked her bike. When she saw it I think she was a little confused, she asked how I got my bike so small, lol. She gave me a big hug, and took it on a quick ride. I had to adjust the seat and stem down as far as they would go, and she still has to hop a little to get on it. I'm going to keep working on it though. I think I may build her some non functional saddlebags next.

That is so cool!!!

Excellent job!!!

Hey Bug!

OK, I gotta ask... Did you find out what the skirt guards are made of? They look rusty were the paint chipped off as well as the chain guard... :confused

And did you measure the wheel swirls are they 8 inches in diameter...?

Thanks Again!

skirts and chainguard looked like sheetmetal. im gonna have to make a list for when i go back on what to measure and more closeups. i wish the weather was nicer here as id ride my motorcycle back up soon as its 100 dollars in fuel to get up and back in the VW. maybe if i take up a button and box red tubing he might let me peek at inside of horn tank..fingers crossed.

Thank You!

I have been collecting only parts so far I'm glad I waited... :)
I have been too busy anyway collecting other bikes and junk and work... :unsure

I can make most of this stuff myself just want to know if I have to spot weld the pieces together or glue.

Check out my photos they might help you too :thumbsup

I've never been good at waiting, I always jump right in. Small parts to change will only give me things to do in my free time, which is why I started this build anyway. Gotta have a hobby!

And thanks everybody for the Pee-wee Jr compliments, much appreciated.

i believe abe said the skirts are tack welded on backside and i didnt peek at that part. my skirts are aluminum and held together by a flush aircraft rivet. as in you cant see the rivet heads.

The correct fenders should be 5.125" across the top, I wouldn't recommend having someone measure across inside because sometimes fenders deform or flatten enough to get a false size.
Also these fenders should have a slight indentation or rib along the radius of the fender, it seem in the screen caps and the museum bikes both have this shape.

Another thing to note is that both the movie bike and the museum bike have only one indent where the fork blade goes- which is where the rear pivot are of the springer goes. If you want it to be the same it is this way, the front truss rod on the springer will hit on the fender and that just the way it is.

Jamie, what gives? You're sounding a little mean spirited. Abe has a valid point in that the correct fender has a lip around the sides, and no truss rod indent. Schwinn made all sorts of fenders...

my build custom parts are mostly aircraft aluminum, not trying to make it a higher quality it just happens to be the kinda stuff i can get basically free as in scrap pile from a major airline..i think the front fender you would need is a non springer, i noticed the truss rods resting right against it on the NB pw bike fender as it didnt have the forward indents also.
