Original Kit bash ship `Tempest'

kdawq1-san

It's wonderful to know that there are some good people pay
a good attention to my build. :)

Making a kit out of this is far from my ability:wacko Oh.. no way.

This morning, I took some pics little bit better than last time.
Some of those are detail work that I haven't post before.:)

Thank you very much for looking.

You sir, are crazy. But in a GOOD way!:cool

I can't believe the sheer amount of detail on this thing. Every photo shows more and more I've never seen before. Wow! Thanks for sharing Katsu-san!

Mike

Okay, we need Space: Above and Beyond to be revived, or perhaps get another Starship Troopers sequel into production, and get this puppy on TV/movie screens!

Yeah. I would say this is NOT a normal model anymore. It is a studio model for a movie that hasn't been made yet! :love

Treadwell-san

Without your honest and kind advice, the things might look different.
I thank you very much again.

Thank you very much for your warm comment.:):$

I started to build this model on March 20 2009, So It took just
one year to carry her this far. Thank you very much for your
constant support and encouragement.

Thanks again and best regards,

Katsuhiko I was just kidding about cutting her up and making a kit! But I must say this is a thing of beauty it just blows me away! I wouldn't even attempt to do something like no clue where to start! All I can say is FANTASTIC yes I yelled this!:thumbsup

Wow!! The paint job turned out great.. The detail is fantastic.. You did a great job on this Katsuhiko..

Thank you very much !:)
That paint pattern for this model is little bit different from any other model
but I thought it would rather fit for this model with this shape and size.

cheers,

What a pleasant comment for my work!!
Thank you very very much. However, I started this built in a very casual way.
Just like a small children playing with building blocks,I've just started to
arrange those rather large parts here or there, this or that, one thing or
another style. And those detailing with many greebles are followed.
In fact, the detailing was a tough one for me.:confused
Thank you again and have a nice build.
All the best,

It's hard to find time for your hobbies. You've inspired me to make time for mine. Great job! You're a force of nature.

Hi ! altername-san, My friend.

It's a little odd thing but, when the weekend comes after all those busy
days and you get up in the early in the morning, help your wife to
do some house hold thing, go to shopping and then you squeeze out
a few hours for your build. Then you find that it's the most concentrated
time of joy you've got.

Of course, I can spend all day long for my build but now I know it's
not about length of time, It's the matter of concentration. That is the
joy of build I experienced.:lol

I thank you very much for all the warm comment you gave me.
I wish you have a nice build.:)

All the best,

Katsuhiko Fujihira

Wow. Just...wow...and amazing. Just wow and amazing. And great sense of weight and form. Just wow, amazing and great use of weight and form...and fantastic presence. Just wow, amazing...ad infinitum...

That my friend is a thing of beauty, and puts many a ship to shame you see on the big screen...well done.

Thank you my friends. I'm so happy that you like my model.

Beside an TAMIYA 1/350 Enterprise (Abandoned for 20 years),
I bought those kit through internet auction in last several years.
Four 1/700 or 1/800 aircraft carrier, Revel 1/32 AH-64, German 88 flak,
plus many parts trees I bought at a bargain sale of local hobby shop.
Each time, I paid 20 dollar or so for about 20 parts tree. I've been doing this
shopping for several times.

Just like this,

The parts trees bargain sale I said was held as for an open festival of model kit shop renewal last year.
Those parts trees were rejected by the quality control of Hasegawa and released for this bargain sale.
Floor manager said it was not in much demand for those kind of parts since they are not so good for
those anime figures or Gundam builders. So maybe I was the biggest buyer of the floor.
He also said you can never get so many kit parts anywhere else at this price. :) So I could build this model rather reasonable cost.

Thank you for looking.

You've essentially done something similar to how it was done in the UK during the height of the Gerry Anderson puppet shows. They would go to Airfix and just buy the specific parts trees they wanted in bulk rather then whole kits to raid them for a few parts. It may also have been done in California in the late 1970s as Revell was then based in Venice, CA, not that far from the special effects houses that sprung up after Star Wars came out.
