ORCA scratch build

Hi i forgot to ask, what did you end up making the leather effect cushions for the fishing chair out of,I might try to make mine out of a few scraps of leather that I have.

Flimzy?? Did you make the stern lockers so they open and close? You could make one of these.

"Hooper, get the pump out of the locker in front of you", "Pump it out Chief"

I had never notice this till the other day, it’s long been known that Orca 2 had a curved back the the barrel guide and Orca 1 was open ended but if you look very closely Orca 1 has a sliding frame that explains the barrels jumping forward. It must be bungee operated.

GOOD EYE..Not many know about this.My buddy, who is building a full size Orca found this years ago..In one scene where Hooper was rigging up the second barrel,if you look close you can see a small pulley right next to the forward barrel,on the port side that pulls the barrels forward.

Yeah it was actually operated by someone off camera pulling a cord. I believe if memory serves, when they get down to about 2 barrels the rig was maxed out and couldn't shuttle any more barrels forward.

Cool..I didnt know that.I figured it was a bungee system of some sort.

I am missing my daily dose of Orca :(
Just for you. I’ve been sick with flue since New Year’s Day and with Christmas I haven’t been working on the Orca. Quick catch up.
I have a few weeks before I go back to work . There are a few little things I can change on the model but on the hole it ready for purpose, ie shooting some video. The main problem is at this time of year I’m not going to get the look I want. But I can work on the shark and the display mount ( anamatoric ) I’m also updating the 3D model with all the information learned during this proses. I will upload the model to CGtrader when it’s done. So not much to show apart from new chum buckets, float and side cleat.

Scary how big that shark was. 1/9th scale (Neca size) it's 31 inches.
I also attached a funny video from years back, "You're gonna need a bigger boat."
Glad you're feeling better!

I’m waiting till the spring now. That way I can get the right sky without freezing to death. I’ve got permission from one of the local sailing club but the one I want to uses hasn’t got back to me yet. There is a local model boat club but there lake is surrounded by trees.
...and you're talking to someone living in Canada  Jolly good; waiting for that video eagerly(praying that the U.K. gets another of those mild temps before spring:p)
