So the wife and I watched all of the episodes of Firefly there will ever be this weekend. Now I knew about Firefly but it never really intrested me untill now (a friend gave me the DVDs as an early Christmas Present).

Now I've always loved shows that were gone before their time: STAR TREK, Arrested Development...but damn. I have to say it, I LOVE this show. And more, I'm actually sad that that's it. Now, of course I'm going to watch SERENITY, but I'm going to wait a bit, and just kind of let this sink in. Never been a big fan of Joss or anything like that in the past but I'm just keenly aware that I've gone and done somthing REALLY dumb. I've become a fan.

One last thought for this post...how could I possably love that little ship? I'm a TREKKIE. That thing is anything but what a good ship should look like. But I love that ship. At the end of "Out of Gas", when Mal sees her for the first time I almost cried. WHAT THE HELL IS THAT?

"Fei-oo? Okay, she won't be winning any beauty contests anytime soon. But she's solid. Ship like this, be with ya 'til the day you die."

So is there a support group or something?

when you finally get to the film Serenity, its basically the idea for the second season condensed into one film. Great show wasnt it.

The war's over, but the ranks of the Browncoats continue to grow. Welcome to the fold Ash.

Just remember, they can't take the sky from you. :cool

I love this show as well. I just can't believe it is gone:(. What a great cast, and I love that ship as well.

Just don't become one of those Joss Whedon slash Lady Gaga fanatics who sees nothing but perfection.

I loved the movie, before that i had no intrest in firefly. But then I had to go back and watch the other stuff.....It does grow on you.

LOL

Yeah, we're called Browncoats, dong-ma?

I was one of the fortunate ones who actually managed to catch a couple episodes of this when it was airing on tv and then they started moving it around incessantly and I could never find it again. Loved it then, love it now.

It's a great story and although it's sad that there are no more episodes, there's still plenty of story out there if you look at the comics and the other sundry stuff that's come out.

John - It's going to hurt.

First, find and buy/build a Mal gun.

Next, find and buy the third Serenity comic ("The Shepherd's Tale").

Finally, come to terms with the fact that you will watch these over and over again and cant't do anything about it.

Personally, I prefer to skip the Writing FanFiction stage, but that's just me and I have tons of other 'legit' writing projects.

I finally started watching a few months before the movie came out. I had avoided it on TV because the only Joss Whedon stuff I knew about was Buffy, and I never got into that. I wanted to see the movie but understand the backstory. So, I watched them from beginning to end. I was hooked from the first few minutes. No need to wait until you watch the movie. Break it out! My favorite part was recognizing the Starship Troopers costumes in the Maglev train episode.

I also recommend the comics. I haven't gotten myself a gun, but I have printed out the cashy money some fine folks here made, I've learnt the chords for "The Hero of Canton", and I have an "Earth that was" brand label on my bottle of whisky.
After that, if you want more of Nathan FIllion then watch Castle, especially the Halloween episode!

"Take me out, to the black.
Tell them I ain't comin' back.
Burn the land and boil the sea,
You can't take the sky from me...
