Question Not able to staying logged in? (find answers here)

Re: Forced logouts now?

Clearing my RPF cookie in Firefox fixed the issue for me. Had to login once more when I came back, but that cookie is longer lasting now.

Re: Forced logouts now?

Ok- mine may be fixed.

1) Launched IE 8 and went to RPF. Had to log in.
2) Closed IE 8.
3) Browsed to my temp files and located two cookies for therpf.com
4) Deleted em.
5) Rebooted pc.
6) Launched IE 8 and went to RPF. Logged in.

So far, so good. Closed the browser a couple times and browsed around the net, went back to therpf and still logged in.

The only thing I did different this time around (tried deleting cookies yestereday with no luck) was that restart of the pc.

Re: Forced logouts now?

At this point I have tested and confirmed that Firefox 3.5.6, IE6 and IE7 are all working by following the steps in the announcement thread.

http://www.therpf.com/announcement.php?f=24

If you are still have problems after completing all of the steps listed in the link above, please send me a pm letting me know what browser and version you are using.

I have already sent messages to a couple of members that seem to still be having problems to see if we can get it solved for them.

Thanks again for helping us solve this issue.

Re: Forced logouts now?

I followed the instructions to a T using IE7 and it still logs me out when I close IE or surf to another page. This is ridiculous.

I cleared the cookies under control panel, restarted the computer, opened IE and the RPF, checked the remember me, logged in and it's still doing it. What is going on?

Re: Forced logouts now?

deleting the therpf cookies via FF fixed the issue for me.

Restarted the forums, logged in and all is OK now.

Re: Forced logouts now?

So far none of these steps and variations have worked for me. I'm using the newest version (i think) of Opera.

I plan on switching to GoogChrome when I get my new computer in several months, but this is what I have right now.

Re: Forced logouts now?

Glad to see that the fix has worked for some of you.

pm sent to Vaderdarth.

TridCloudwalker, I will check to see if there is something different that needs to be done with Opera.

I love Google Chrome - but I have it on 2 computers and it is having login issues as well, even after taking all the steps. (other then this issue I have never had a problem with it, and think it is better then others)

It has no ad/image blocking abilities and that is a huge fail in my book.

Well that is good to know for you. I myself have bigger issues (bigger "FAIL") with the others browsers. Chrome has the best Pop up blocker I have used, and I never see ads that are not part of the page I am on. I don't block images on websites that I go to, and have never had a virus from it since the internet started so I guess it all works great for me. The faster loading speed in Chrome blows the others away, combining that with the lack of add on garbage that wants to clutter the page and it is darn near perfect, for me.
But this is not a discussion about browsers likes/dislikes - so I will stop encouraging off-topic posts!

Deleting the cookies in Chrome for this site seems to work for about 30 minutes or so, then it is back to logging in.

Having difficulty stayng signed in...

In the last few days, ever since the forum changes, I've been having problems staying logged in. I remember to check the "remember me" box every time, but the system still logs me out after a few minutes just as if I hadn't. I've never had this problem before here. Has this been happening to anyone else? Anyone have any idea what might be wrong?
