I was hoping to demold the revised ankle buckle tonight. Damn this resin don't like the cooler weather. It is been over 8 hours and it is still in a gel state.

This would be so sick !

Here is the promised picture.

As some of you may know, I am in the process creating new master parts for the soles.

For this sole however, I need to make a complete new master as the parts I currently am working on are for the V2. I want these new soles to be closer to the RD MAG.

So I have rebated the sides for the wings and added those wedges so that I can form the new wing in its "soft stage" These wedges will be ground off once I have shaped the wings to give a nice double flare.

This is a wing I did a while back. It has well and truly set hard and is not flexible now. But it was used to mark out the shape of the recess.

I'll be doing both inner wings and sole base to match. These should look nice when they are done.

Hardly. I am still working on parts. David has his shoes ready.
Search mag modding video 13 for soles. Never made a video for the decals

The epoxy I use for master parts is weird in that it has a soft time of a few hours after I demold it The cool thing about this is I can shape it, tape it and let it set hard.

Here is how those side wing parts came out.

So next up is to make the 4 inner wings and the new base plates and new front ovals.

A few posts back I posted my degassing video. Check out how the pros do it :D

I use a similar technique for my decals.

Hi Everyone,

I know V2 Mag Mods are old hat by now, but I just finished up my second pair this weekend and I wanted to take a moment to thank each and every one of you for the wealth of knowledge, guidance and information shared in this forum. I was worried that I would be getting in over my head with this at first, but I now feel like a pro. I'm very happy with the finished result, and it wouldn't have been possible without all of you sharing what you know. Much gratitude to you all :cool

(Yes, I'm still gonna steam the toebox, but the hard part's done).

I probably should start a new thread for this, but can't be bothered at this time.

Today I opened the micro-fibre leather I bought months ago. I was calling it "Venus Leather" and apparently it is called "Vegan Leather". This looks, feels and even smells like real leather. As you can see, it has a top side and suede bottom side. It is about 1.5mm thick. The difference between this and a leather hide is that you can use the full roll width.

My templates have been made for a while and the lasts are done, so thought I might as well dive back into this and see if I can make it work.

Found a really cool YouTube video where this podiatrist explained the 6 points on the sole.

I saw these in person at a local Burlington. I liked them. Too bad they don't make wide widths.
