Yeah, I liked that Blue MAG too. Too bad he had to stop his build topic right before getting to how the upper is done.
He had to stop or just did stop?
From memory he was using a pretty stretchy material over the foam, similar to how the 1989 movie shoe was made.
I think what I need to do with mine is to make a vegan leather template of the whole shoe (IE cuff and out as one) and then use that as the stiffener inside. I don't want to use foam because I want to turn this from "breathable" to a plastic bag. Even with the mesh I was using. Maybe just adopt and modify some of the techiques on the V2 - ie sew the cuff onto this part.
Even though I used the lasts to make the liners take shape, they were assembled without the lasts and so I think all that is needed is the two points - c entre of heel and centre of toe which can be found by placing the upper over your own foot, mark centre of the heel and mark the 2nd toe at the end of the of the "clean toe. These points also seem to line up when you simply fold the upper in half. However, you need to find these points on the sole pattern as folding that in half does not work.
QUESTION FOLKS!!!!! ive been on a fruitless quest to find out what type of textile/fabric is used on the Official Nike Air Mags &/or movie version Air Mags. Same goes for my search of what kind of paint to use for my mid-soles & where to find it? I'm making replica Air Mags from scratch in case you were wondering:thumbsup
Also, if anyone knows what type of device was used to make the powerlaces i've been seeing coming out of the wood work from people on instagram & youtube....i'd be extrememly grateful!!!! .
You can paint the leather if they re too darkcheckout angelus leather paint

Picked up some Shibusa's today. They do share *some* MAG dna I suppose.... the speckle on the sole, the elastic instead of laces, plus the grey/white colour scheme, it's gotta be deliberate on Nike's part, eh? A vague reference to the MAGs. Pity they are only low-cuts. Who knows, maybe a mid-cut one day?

Yeah i would say Nike did this on purpose....the little 'heel cup' they have on the back has got to be a little MAG reference too.
Pretty cool looking shoe I think, if MAGs were actually sports shoes....they would be the more casual version you'd wear after you wear done playing :lol
Just found an old picture of my test for these back - I think that these where lost when I moved in my new appartement :-(
I'll make some new one soon with better lettering.

As you said, there is a air bubble in these shoes so I don't think I'm gonna dig in the sole to place some lights or gitd...
I don't know where it stops and the size of the air bubble.
The other modification would be the tongue. I'll probably do the same system as I did for the HC and V2 (checkout my Instagram for some info somedays = https://www.instagram.com/mokka_deez/ )![]()
