Well I give up I can't for some reason post pics properly

If you want to see them better just click on the first one and flick through
The 3 on top were my first attempt and bottom 3 were my second, hopefully I will get the hang of posting pics one day

I do the toe modification first, so i can easily access the cardboard and just complete rip all of it out.
and then try and remove as much from the edges as possible.

Doesn't the pink card secure the upper to the sole? If you rip all this out, won't the construction of the shoe be compromised?

I think the pics will post the way they were captured. So if you take a shot in portrait, the image may turn sideways when you post it as the files want to go landscape.

no
the pink card is just covering the sides.
the shoe is already glued super hard from the sides.
you can go running or play basketball in them if you wanted, even with the new wiring underneath. thats how solid they are glued.

Thanks, that is very nice to know.

What about the sides of the cloth upper? Is this glued to the foam inside? I and hoping that I might be able to push the new wire down from the sewn "button hole" on each shoe for new lights.

Is it just me or is the EMS shipping tracking site useless? It's been 4 days since I received my tracking number from Aliexpress for my Mags, yet, the EMS site does not output any tracking information. I keep getting the "No tracking information for the shipment, or overdue tracking" message. Anyone else encounter this?

You can track EMS through the USPS website if you're in the US

I checked USPS and still no information. Then suddenly I get an email from the Aliexpress seller (Jason Lin), and he wrote,

"hi, i try to get size 8.5, every time shoes have problem

so how about size 9.5, or cancel the order, let me know as soon as possible

sorry write tracking number first"

So now I'm a bit confused. I had received a tracking number from him (which the number didn't work on EMS or USPS) and now he's asking me if I want a different size or to cancel the order. Has anyone else purchased from him on Aliexpress? It's been 8 days total since placing my order with him. I'm wondering if I should get a pair instead from Karin Chen or China Koko. What do you guys think?

China Koko has always been good for me. I've also had other props order through China Koko and she always comes through.

I recently used China Koko (as suggested by Jedifyfe) an the order was shipped to him approx. 8 days or so (give or take a day) but he said the order was exactly what i had added in my cart. I left a note for the sizes i needed and colors and turned out great. Also, she got back to my within a few hours for any ?' i might have asked. Overall they are fast and reliable.

I just got a message from Jason Lin and he admitted he did not ship out the Mags yet. He is trying to find a size 8 for me now. This explains why the tracking number given has no tracking results for the last 3-4 days.

I'm curious, has anyone used their MAG's at the gym? I can only imagine all the distracted people whispering among one another and trying to get a peak at your shoes while you're doing your workout. lol

No, but I plan on wearing mine to the gym very soon. I've had my first modded pair done for a while but kept having the wiring go bad. I have them working fine now and I finally found out primarily why. I was soldering, gluing, and heat shrinking all the wires and then immediately wearing them. This didnt allow enough time for all the glue and solders to solidify and strengthen. So word of advice do the mods and then let the shoes sit a while before wearing them...

Hi All...
Another "Noob" here as far as The RPF and prop building by hand goes...however I am no stranger to collecting props/ costumes for YEARS...and was totally unaware of this type of community ..However I am grateful to have found it..I thought I was the only fanatic for detail out there..."this screw is the wrong shape..that pocket has the wrong kind of stitching pattern on it"..etc ...finally found a group of people just like me...I have been registered here for a little while not too long and have read through this ENTIRE...THREAD all 119 pages...I also have mags and have done some work to them have modded straps...and LEDs and was going to stop there but after reading this whole thread I have decided to do the whole thing EL soles and all...it will be some time before I finish and up load any pics from the build...as the holidays are on the way and that is a busy time for myself as I work in the medical field but will def keep reading on here as I am planning to do a 9v system after debating to use the lithium ion batt from the PS controller..great pages on that by the way I think it was Taff who ultimately found out that you can't get much more than maybe 7hrs at best from them and you can get like close to 6 with 9v...I too would love a pair that could last 10hrs or so...but will have to wait till someone finds a solution to that one lol....do with that...I will start work on these and hopefully finish my "noob" mod in the next few months ...hope it works out...not exp at this stuff...not messing with a toe mod though till I get another pair lol (just in case) thanks again for all the info guys great work...so nice to find a community that all love to GEEK OUT together!! ... (my wife just doesn't get it) ...Cheers!!

Welcome! Can't wait to see your progress. It seems like you have a good grasp on what is needed but chime in and ask if you need help.

Thanks Jedi...I have seen your youtube mod vids...they are quite helpful...:) did my laces as well...the only thing that I am having a hard time with a find a vid tutorial of the sole mod...I know you did one but that was with a MP mag's sole and not the v2 one so that wasn't very helpful for me do you plan on doing a vid showing the actually v2 sole mod in the future if so def let me know..still can find a clear good vid on doing the sole mod for reference ...just don't want to screw my mags up...I also have infinity cement to put the show back together I know you are a fan of the loctite just worried it will separate under wear and tear since I plan to wear these once finished ...thanks again Brad
