Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

Was thinking about trying sole savers on my V3s, anybody have any experience with sole savers? Do you think they are worth the effort?

I love MAGs. I am However not a sneaker head by any means. I just Googled saving soles and they came up.

Thinking about trying it........

There are lots of products out there that protect soles. Which specifically?

so if you guys are wanting to protect the sole of the mags here's a product I can recommend, I am a sneaker head and products made buy companies called sole protector or sole saver are highly expansive ! most are up to $30, but I have found an alternative product that only cost about 8-9 bucks and it's less than the big name brands

Here is the link

Here is the vid that I found that recommended it and showing how to install.( it's exactly like sole protector and sole saver)

well, if you use western union and put in the discount code sneakerahead-dis it goes down to $548.96, but that's still a fair bit of money for shoes. But then again, how much is a yearly car registration? Here in Australia, we have to pay a fee just to be allowed to use our own car, and when I had a V8 years ago it was around $800. (hence why I don't bother to have a car anymore, much more disposable income this way) ;)

I don't know if I would ever pay by WU. And yes, that's still quite a bit of cash even discounted.

My states registration fees are very low compared to these shoes price. It's not comparable.

I really would like to have some. It'll just take some doing to turn that maybe into a certainty.

The idea of paying $600 for shoes just feels a little crazy. The $99 for the HC Mags is still the highest price I ever paid for a pair of shoes to date.

Really? $350 for AIR PRESSURE back in 1991 because they were the closest thing NIKE had ever released to the MAG prior to 2011. Funny thing is, the re-issue was less and I didn't want to pay it.

WOW, if the public transport was even half good in this city, I might considered the same because, yes, rego + insurance + tolls and there is like 5 pair of these shoes per year. And don't even get me started on the BS price of fuel.

I can't fit most of that kind of stuff due to foot width. So I never became a collector. And consequently never ended up paying a lot for shoes...til the HC.

And '91? I wasn't even a teenager. I think I was wearing some Airwalks or something.

Actually I think I bought the Air Pressure as a self birthday present. I had just turned 20.

So yesterday I wore the shoes from 8pm to 4am. No problems what so ever. I walked all over San Diego. A little dirty but hardly any wear. image.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpegimage.jpeg

I just ordered a pair of size 11. Am I crazy to spend this much money on a pair of shoes!?! I don't care they look great!
I felt the same way, but after receiving them I know I made the right choice. Now I just need to find an Anvil case so that I can replicate the Nike display. Just spending money on top of more money. LOL.

Hm, I remember Brisbane being pretty good for public transport, except in the newer residential areas. They even had bike racks on the front of buses so you didn't have to walk too far if the bus didn't stop that close to your destination. Gone now?
Jedifyfe, thanks for the sole shots. Looks like they used a good quality rubber for the outsole. I've bought a replica sneaker here and there and they usually have a really low density rubber which wears down much faster than the genuine Nikes, hence why I prefer to get the real ones if I can. From most reports, these 'V3's' are very promising. What Nike should have released originally after BTTF 2 came out. Would have sold heaps. I know if they had, even with just GITD segments back in the early 90's, I would have hounded my Dad for a pair (high shcool back then) :D

If I bus from home to the city, it will take about 1:20 and cost upto $20 return. No bike racks on busses that I have ever seen and I've been here for 18 years.
One of the problems of shoes from that period was they used a polyurethane that used to break down after about 5 to 6 years. This why most photos of the shoes like the AIR PRESSURE from 1990s' are wrapped in plastic and have massive cracks all over the collar. My pair were freaking amazing for 5 years, then one day I pulled them on, the collar just crumbled in my hands.

Back when I bought my PRESSURES, the Footlocker store than had them had a slightly different version on display that I have never seen on line or images of since. This had raised letters NIKE on the strap that were painted blue and there was no logo on the tongue like the pair I bought (sewn red). The pump was translucent blue and not clear like the pair I bought. Can't remember any other details, but it was around November 1989, so maybe just a promo pair given BTTF2 had just been released.
