Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

Apart from the $98 price for the western world, why would anyone buy them?

I mean, if you are wanting a replica NIKE MAG, wouldn't you at least want the letters MAG on the heel?

Let's be honest, neither are exactly dead ringers. My advice: don't do too much research, folks, just carry out your mods and live peacefully. :lol I see so many differences.

I did read a lot of the threads but not all. Just joined rpf yesterday man...cut a noob some slack! I really appreciate all the advice you guys have provided. Thanks again

They are normally (the v2 knockoffs) half a size big.
Quality is good aside from the electronics which eventually fail. They are a better base to work from if modifying than the halloween versions.

If you want a good replica which you can make reasonably accurate, then go for the chinese fakes. If you aren't too bothered with super accuracy, then go for the cheaper halloween version.

Personally, like BTTFspencer said above, both are nowhere near accurate to the real shoes, so you have to heavily modify to get anything close to a decent looking pair.

You are in luck though, as there are a few new options available such as uv stable clear soles from cavx, which will help give any version of the shoe a much better look than those yellow gum soles!

The V2s and HCs both have the problem of the sole being too wide. I wish this wasn't an issue because on my feet they still kind of look like boots even with the toe slim. And them not being true to size even the 8s are too big.

The more I talk to you guys (and see your modded pics, I'm so jealous!) the more I realize they're probably not worth buying to wear unless you mod the hell out of them. Who's the mod king on here, and how much for their services for a full out complete mod?

Now that I finally have mine, I have to say that I think they run true to size. I normally wear 11 and that's what I ordered and they fit pretty snug. That being said, the size 12 i briefly handled had the exact same size soles, but were patterned wider. So some sizes might run large, but the 11 run true to size.

My US9.5s were too big out of the box. A 2nd sock liner filled in some of the space. A toe slim made them a little more snug. The tongue extension made them a touch tight. The Heel mod extended the back of the shoe by about 1/4, so fixed the previous issue.

My US8s look to be the same size as the older MP MAGs which were supposed to be US9.

This is the setup I used:

Directions say 1 part sole bright, 1 part dye. I didn't want to get it dark blue so I did like half the dye.

Directions say 30-60 min on the sole, I put it on and seen how deep and thick it was on there and maybe waited 5-10 minutes and started spraying and brushing it off.

Cleaned it real good until nothing was coming off with soap and water, and wiped down with alcohol.

Finished product:

I am extremely happy with the outcome. The sole color was my main issue with these, the opaque gum like color was so offsetting.

Next mod is the straps!

That looks a lot better. How does the dye hold up over time? Will it go yellow again?

Hopefully it holds up, I am pretty a sure it will yellow over time but I'm down to try the sole bright on it if they do.

They look like a different shoe with the mod, it is a must unless you can get cavx soles which is the best case scenario.

Cobrakai22 you definitly have convinced me to try the dye. Is there a white dye?
I'm hesitating to be closer to the screen used Mags than the RDs.
Anyway thanks again for the tip!
