V4? We are still waiting for V3.
The member airair is collaborating with the Chinese factory to make more accurate uppers, but some things in the design prove to be problematic for them. We have to play the waiting game until they are officially confirmed. They will have the same midsole just with different uppers so don't expect perfection.
They will also be much cheaper than the V2s because there will be no Nike branding. So getting supplies to make them more accurate won't break the bank as much. Airair also mentioned they could possibly come in a kit form if you ask, meaning that the midsole, heel cup, and upper are all disconected. This will make painting and installing the electronics much easier.

The Chinese are not the easiest to deal with due to the language differences (which usually ends in communication break downs), but they can and do make some awesome stuff. To make this work, you either need to speak Chinese or have a person on the ground that you know. I had had success having things made in China because I have a local who was/is able to help me. My project took time (and money, a lot of money) but in the end was very profitable and so, I would not write this off just yet.

How do the "Karin Chen" Mags fit in size? Normally i got a US9 in my normal dailyshoes. Should i go size up or down or same size in the mags?

They don't make a US9, so get the US9.5 and after you slim the toe, it will be perfect. I think it would be a mistake to buy the US8.5, especially after the toe slim.

@airair any word on the V3's?
Still waiting on the samples to be finished.
Unfortunately, I've been told they can't do the triangular holes without any stitching, despite me sending my template showing how to do it.
I'll send you some pics when I get them.
I'll have to weigh up the options. If the uppers come out significantly better than the HC and v2 then I may go for it.
Another thing which can be changed is a request for a lighter grey pigment in the soles, the only problem is that they insist on using non uv stable rubber.

i asked yes to make toebox smaller. should be possible by using a shoelast with smaller toebox.
