Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

I don`t think the 2011 MAGs will be devalued. The 2011 MAGs are still a very unique release and always will be.
They were auctioned for charity and I don`t think that Nike would care about devaluing this release anyway, why should they?
I guess so long as people remember why they paid several thousand for the shoe, it probably won't matter.

Even if the 2015 MAGs will happen, I`d still love to own a 2011 pair even without power laces.

I wonder how big a 2015 release will be. I hope for a major run, otherwise the 2015 release will be affordable only for a few people again. The Foot Locker rumour in that article raises hope for a bigger release but it is still just a rumour though...
One of the most expensive parts to making a product like this is the molds and they are done. If NIKE do release these shoes they will be the same as
the 2011, without the lights. As for Power Laces, we'll see.

Im guessing if it is true the non lit version will be close to normal retail price? And I can only assume the "hero" version will be several thousand $ which puts me out of the running :(
But I think this would be true, we have heard bob gale talk about nike having plans to release versions leading up to 2015 so it seems plausible.

I just don't want to see a heap of plastic shoes like the Hyperdunk being marketed as MAGs.

sounds promising - without the lighting, the cushioning would be better. The V1's are much softer white midsole foam to walk on than the V2's grey stuff (plus the V2's have all those holes in them to make the shoe lighter) I guess where the EL panels are could be just an aqua coloured shape of plastic underneath the clear, which would give a vaguely similar effect.
They'd be a great new everyday shoe. Better start saving..... they'd prob'ly be similar pricing to my reebok pump bringbacks which were around $300 I think..... well i HOPE they wouldnt be much more than that for unlit version. But we're all just speculating till more news comes in. But you're right, they would need to LOOK like MAG's not Mags inspired some other shoe. Though the hyperdunks were OK. Hyperdunks are actually pretty comfy too. I have a set of just plain white with black swoosh (MAG colourway was too expensive for my liking)

Still over priced IMO. Even at the NIKE outlet store, Hyperdunks (not the MAG colourway) were $180+. Way too much for plastic fantastics when you can buy all leather Jordans from $100.

Hey everyone, I may be a bit late to this forum, but I have a couple questions about ordering Mags. First off, I haven't read through all previous posts yet, so if I ask something that's already been answered, I apologize. My questions are:
1. Is Karen Chen still the best/most reputable seller that you guys know of,
2. Is there a duty tax if I'm ordering these to the US, and
3. Do you guys think the replica Mags would hold up to fairly often use (nothing too heavy, mostly just walking and sitting around)

Thanks!

1. There may be other sellers that may be slightly cheaper but I've bought off Karen three times now and she has excellent service and good communication and your shoes will arrive (unless customs decide to snag them of course).
2. Don't live in the US, so don't really know. Different states may be have a tax. In AU, so long as the shipment value is declared as less than $1000, no import fees.
3. Totally will last. The shoes are very well made. The electronics are crap and may fail within hours if not days. If you just want to wear them, no probs.

Fantastic, thanks for the feedback. I've been reading through earlier posts and I've been seeing only positive things for Karen Chen, so I'll probably order from her when I scrape the cash together. As for the duty tax/fees, I'll be scouring the internet over the next few days to check up on that (if anyone in the US knows, feel free to chime in). To be honest, I wouldn't really expect the electronics to last very long. I'd mostly be wearing them during the day (if I wear them out at all), so it wouldn't be much of an issue.

Would it be blasphemy for me to get the black ones?

I have NEVER has to pay an import tax on anything I have ordered and had shipped to the US :lol
You should be ok ;)
And get whatever color you desire... You are the one who gets to wear them so don't answer to anyone ;)

Thanks for the info, I've not ordered anything from China, and I wasn't sure if there would be any fees.

Hopefully, I'll be able to scrape enough cash together to get both colors :D

if you want them to wear instead of display, it's a good idea to invest in a good set of insoles - lol I couldnt remember the brand i put in my MAGs so i had to pull it out:
they're called Footcare ultrasport
Footcare Shoe Products Ultra Sport Mens Insoles 1 Pair | eBay
something similar to that makes them a lot more comfy as the midsole doesnt have much cushioning.
just remember to order half a size smaller than you usually would.

I live in Australia and wasn't given any fees or import duty, hope US is the same.
As for the black ones, don't feel guilty, I want a pair too! My GF wouldnt approve of them showing up in the mail to add to my collection though, lol

(oh, alo, I've had mine a few months and admit I only wear them occasionally, but the electronics on mine are still working (less one green LED in the row of four on one shoe - must be lucky)

I checked this thread and haven`t found anything related to these news yet, but apologies if this has already been mentioned.
We all know that Nike actually patented the power laces years ago but this website now mentions a date of an official release and claims that there will be two versions. Has anyone else already heard these rumours? These details sound promising although it is not an official source.

Man, I really hope that's true, but I can't find any other articles on Google which claim the above.
It just seems sketchy that one Italian website has this info.

I bought the bright orange innersoles that DragonGalvy posted and I also found (at a local shopping centre) some light grey ones that are pretty close to the grey of the MAGs.

to be honest, the existing grey insoles are fine, even with all the new wiring underneath. You just have to shuffle the wires slightly to the sides and you can barely feel them.

Yes, the midsole in the V2's is kinda hard, so if you are used to Air Maxs or Jordans or something and wear the V2s a lot, it makes them more comfy to have a good insole in them.
But we all know they were made as a prop not a sports shoe, lol

A wearable prop that (depends where you wear them) will turn heads. Might as well be comfortable in them :)

well on a few pairs I have,
what I have done is simply glue the grey insoles onto some eva foam sheet, and then cut around it,
so now the insoles are thicker by at least 1.5mm.

works great, simple and cheap.

the alternative is just to get a new insole with custom cushioning in it, but I used the existing grey ones, the extra eva foam underneath makes them more comfortable.

I just added the new innersole (with a shock absorbing heel piece) over the top of the existing grey innersole. Didn't see the point in removing the original.
