Nike MAG replicas (V2 and V3 only)

A set of ready to go straps for $45? Ones I saw are all put together - includes the straps, with the heel cups, EL NIKE, etc. All you have to do is literally replace your V2 straps with these and you are set. Zero labor.

I believe that with markpoon's kit, you have to solder all the wires and hollow out the heel cup yourself but come on, $45 compared to $300? That's a no brainer on which to choose. Plus you can PM markpoon for a PDF tutorial on how to do all that.

You have to just open the white straps and put Mark Poon's stuff in and glue back.

$300 for those straps? The nike logo is not even fully blacked out and there is a huge black border around, not to mention the huge inverters being used.
Those are 4cm x 2cm and thick, there is nowhere to put them really.

You would have to be crazy to get those, just do it yourself with Mark Poon's kit! At least his fits in behind the white ankle piece.
If you want accuracy, you really have to put in some work.

Guys i never said 300 was a good price - relax lol. All I'm saying is that it would be cool to throw those on a pair of V2s and call it a day. Most people are not skilled in electronics enough to do the mods some of you guys do. After all, that's why you charge a lot of money for your labor correct?

Today was a good day for mail...

13 days after they were ordered, my Mags arrived. The box was in reasonably good shape from the long journey, and the shoes are flawless. My Mark Poon Nike EL strap kit also showed up. Now all I have to do is learn to solder and work up the nerve to mod them. :D

Man those look sweet! Not sure how much longer I can hold out for lol.

I hear ya.

For those really not looking to do their own labor, I believe that someone recently posted in one of the Nike Mag threads here at RPF (maybe this very one), a link to a guy that is converting ALL of the electronics in the V2 to better ones, for $250. I think that may have even included added the EL Nike strap. Not sure on that. Also not sure if he is throwing in the toe slim mod.

A complete list of the origin of Nike Mag replicas, grandchildren of Mark Poon.

This is a very good comparison of the different versions.

The V1s were pretty comfy shoes. Given they were a copy of the original MP MAG, it is shame they didn't make them the same height as the MPs.

Looking at these images and the V2 is pretty close.

WOW, what is with that cuff on the 2014 HC shoe?

Just a quick question.... Can you iron the collar to make it less puffy ??

you can't do anything really.

The V2 is wafer thin and the puffy part is directly stitched to it, whilst the Halloween Costume version is worse as the shape is more distorted and less taller by a few mm.

I hope mine turn up this week :) I will be getting a set of the Mark Poon EL's.

Looking through nikemag hash tags on Instagram, see these… Every bttf fan's new born should have em :D
