NIKE MAG Knockoffs

Looks like cloth with no foam, so basically socks with soles. Interesting that they seem to have to the centre back seam and the outside of the shoe is one piece. Anyone got a shot of the inside to see where the other seam is? Apart from the shape of the collar, these might be the same pattern as the MAGs.

What was on the outside of the yellow box? Paper alone? For some reason I thought the yellow box would be inside another box...[/QUOTE]

It was just a typical plastic mail bag. No box.

I will wait for the next batch, just hope they start doing 24 hour shifts to get them done :)

yeaaay :D Well! If you get them... get me a pair too! So we can share the shipping cost! ^_^! And maybe have a discount? XD
Which part of scotland are you living in? =)

alright ^^ I go there sometimes, I'm living in Glasgow! ^^
Anyway, can't wait to see their final version of their shoes then! Hopefully light in the straps?

As per TheNickFox's advice... I attempted to do a 3d scan of my MAG shoes.
He suggested I try Autodesk's cloud processing capture app called 123D Catch.
After many attempts I finally got something worth sharing.

It's still not optimal. I plan to try another attempt this week with better captures of the undercuts and the inside of the shoe. I'll also try to get the bottom of the shoe and see if I can stitch the models together.

Amazing your scan test dinoignacio¡¡ :love
-Next time avoid strange surfaces, is better a neutral white floor color, and some tracking marks.
-Use a neutral/ambient light in the same vector photo directions.
-if you use a turntable and a tripod would be MORE better, mostly of that kind of programs for cloud computing needs to readjust the hipotetic center of every photo to locate and match pixel concordances.

The program that you´re using is from autodesk. The main problem of 123D is that you need to pay for obtain a obj/dxf final file of your 3D model. The technique of the "point cloud computing" made a lot of bugs/fails in the tolopogy depending of photos quality, highlights, reflections, color variations.... and the final mesh is totally triangulated¡¡¡ :angry , for detach(separating) every element of the shoe would be extremely complex,a pain¡¡¡and needs a lot of retopology(reorganice ,convert to quad mesh):is not automatic way, is totally artisan¡¡
We are using a new software for Game of Thrones 3 , is used for obtaining 3D backgrounds from a lot of photos from the set and works PERFECTLY.

I have the anckle buckle modelled at minimun details with your accurate reference photos. inside of the anckle buckle is ready to insert and storage cheap AAA batteries(you can get 1500-2000 mAh with that in every shoe¡¡¡), and another place for El inverter and the hole for plug connector, ready for 3D print. :cool I hope to be finished and ready to print for next weekend.

Hey thanks for theses :)

Here are more pictures as promised:

They were a bit rough cutting that strap. You'd think they'd have a machine or at least a rig set up for long strips. So what is the fabric? Spandex?

The cuff appears to be the same smooth vinyl used on the V1. Shame about the stitching around the hole, though it does not look that bad.
What is the ankle buckle made from? Plastic or foam?

You'd think with grey fabric that they would use grey thread? That heel cup looks good.

How did they get the toe profiles so wrong?

This seems cleaner than the V1.

I'm sure if you pressed the hook side of the velcro to the tongue of a MP shoe, you'd get the same pilling that we saw in the video. You just need to be mind full that this will catch on rough surfaces.

Is it possible to get a full length single shot of the sole even if you have to crop is thin for posting? It seems that they didn't know about the pyramid sole, so they used waffle on all three surfaces. Still looks quite good. though

Again way neater than the V1s and it seems that they have used decent elastic this time.

Over all they look good. Are you happy with them?

I am really happy with them. I mean I paid the $274 for them @ pickgoodshoes. I paid the difference they asked (after trying to negotiate with them). They shipped last Friday and I just got them this afternoon.

They way I approach is that I would personally never pay the $5k +/- for the real deals, unless I just had that money to burn, so this is the other alternative to having a great pair of replicas. I mean if the RD Mags 2011 did not exist and nike never released them and these were the only option available, people would be buying these things up without any hesitation.

These are going on display in my prop / office room and I would have no doubts about buying another pair strictly to wear every now and then when & if they release a V2.

You mean a V3? These are V2. I agree with what your saying that this a means to an end some of us may never see. I am glad this worked out for you.

I still can't believe that email I got from eBay when I bid on a pair of the 2011 MAGs that basically said, even if you win, we won't send you the shoes and your payment will be taken strictly as a donation :thumbsdown I'm glad the Chinese can make these as well as they have. Hopefully with some refinements, they will be perfect next time.

Wait, ebay sent you that message???!!! And they were a legit pair of mags? So what was the reasoning?

That auction was for the US only and that they could not ship the shoes because the batteries were considered "explosive'.

Apparently all the shoes were road freighted to their new owners.

Yet I bet when they shipped the 1500 pairs shoes from the factories in Taiwan to the US that they were not shipped using sea freight.

Thank for pix knight. I'd be happy with that slimmer toe if they both looked like that. Also, even tho it was more than you originally paid, if 2 years ago somebody showed you these with that $270 price tag you, I and very one else on this thread would have jumped all over it. Good pick up
