NIKE MAG Knockoffs

I actually, eventually got that other picture yesterday, they said they forgot to send me it with the other pics. They mailed the pics out to other suppliers too.

I've been told the pictures are of the "factory sample", so they actually haven't pressed ahead with full production of these shoes.

I've also been told they are putting the EL Light on the Strap, but not sure about the soles.

I've told them what needs fixing, especially the toecap and EL Lights, so fingers crossed, the end result is likely to be much better.

Having said that though, expect a slight price increase if they manage to go ahead with all these fixes.

If they put the EL in the strap, that would be awesome, even better if the change the sole lights to EL. I can live with the toe....that would be an easy enough fix for most of us I would think. I feel like I've been waiting an eternity as it is though, and this is sure to push it back!

Bravo.

I think we have already witnessed the "slight" price increase... but if what they told you is correct, then I am excited to see what their final versions look like. Their confirmation of the EL Lights on the straps has made me a happy camper. Now fingers crossed they fixed the toe box and possibly the issue with bad stitching and puffiness on the upper parts of the shoes.

Despite that, I'm sure we can expect an extended delay that will be tolerable after this revelation.

im not sure to be honest. They have been very slow. I originally was told back in June, that they would come out "next month", then another month went by, then the next, an on and on.

i guess they are pretty close to releasing them this month (november) almost certainly.

if they are fixing the EL on the strap, i'm hoping they are going to do the toefix also.

They, themselves even sent me a picture of their nike mag toecap in comparison to a real one after I told them of the innacuracy,

so I hope they do fix that toecap.

Maintain this working relationship with whoever your contact is... it is comforting to know that there is someone on our side helping with the release of these replicas. Now my $130 gamble doesn't seem as risky as I had expected.

Thanks for the great news.

I would definitely buy a pair you make. I'm a size 9.5US :)
Thanks. So am I US9.5. The shoe I am making is US10 and because of the flat, clean toe design, you need that little extra bit of room.

Cavx, there looking good, i love the shape, texture and size i think there spot on personally.

Thank you :)

Since these are likely to come in the same mostly-crushed bland brown cardboard box as the v1 K-Mags, I think I'm going to be adding the yellow Mag box back to my list of projects.

...just to complete the look.

If they DO make the box, awesome! (But I'm not holding my breath)

Why not just do the black tube? Not hard, even if you used SONO tube.

How does one go about making the box? Is it relatively simple to find the proper materials as well as construct?

If making a box (or tube) is on the too hard list, what doing what Jedifyfe posted a few weeks back? His clear plastic shoe box looked very cool and would have cost about $15 all up. He did the MAG sticker and all.

I have got all the parts now for tube bags. I just need to make a start :)

IF they implement these changes, even one of them, bravo to them, seriously. I doubt it's often that one consumer can convince a manufacturer to change its product, let alone a Chinese manufacturer of knockoff shoes!! LOL. We should all be thanking airair for his efforts in communicating with these guys to get this done right!:thumbsup

*Ahem* ... please make a second pair. I would be really interested in compensating your efforts. :cool

We'll have to see how this pair turn out first. I was building a 2nd pair (different construction technique) and have ditch that pair in favor of these ones.

If there are ANY changes to the V2, I really want to see the strap light up. I am not too worried about the toe correction at this stage and I think a diffuser will solve the sole lights. The most important 'detail' right now is that blue NIKE on the strap.

From what you have so far... it looks like it will be an incredible example of the Nike Air Mags.

*stands in front of the line*

Do you know if they'll be getting you new pics as the changes progress?

I dunno man, the ELs in the sole definitely trump the toe for me. The toe fix has to be by far the easiest of the mods to do ourselves

I have to agree. I really don't want to be removing the sole if I don't have to. A rounded toe is something I can live with.

How was the logo done on your bag? Screen print or sticker? I'd definitely be interested in one

That was an expensive sticker made from 3M reflective tape. Duplicates should be cheaper as the art work is done, however the NIKE/SWOOSH is too large and needs to be reduce quite a bit.
