I think I paid like $40 for my section of pipe. I used 250mm or 10" PVC pipe which has a wall thickness of 6mm (about 1/4"). You probably can't get it thinner, but you most certainly will get a thicker version. Mine is heavy as it is. The next size up that I could get was 300mm or 12".
I believe the real bag was 275mm or 11", so not sure if that is total or just the body. I will suggest a total including the tapered ends.
My 250mm bag fits in the carry on over head lockers on a plane

I don't know how you'd go with that slightly larger version.
Anyway, overall length is about 500mm but there was talk about the bag being as long as 600mm and I think mine is 420mm. I would need to measure that.
Yes you get a few tube bags out of a full length. Assuming it is a neat $1000 for the 6m length, the price per meter is then $166.67. You need about half a meter per bag body and the same for the lids, so about 4x what I paid. This does not include the clear ends, glue, hardware etc.
So what I am wanting to do is heat form the body and lids and Vac Form the end caps. What I paid for a 2400 x 1200 sheet makes this project quite viable. The sections of pipe that I have would be used for bucks. I still need to make the ends from MDF to get the proper taper on them.
Well it depends on how you look at it. Anything not 100% could be considered flawed by some. Like what I have seen in the images and if the shoes I get look the same, I'll be pretty happy with that.
Exactly and well said.
