NIKE MAG Knockoffs

It would be great if we could get the curvature out of the sole. I know resins and plastics can be heated and reshaped, but I'm thinking rubber is likely to maintain its original shape

I don't seen this as an issue as they will curve as you wear them anyway.

Do you think the top part of the shoe can be corrected?

The construction of the V2 shoes upper is not how the RD is done and not how I did mine either. I have not seen the V2 yet, but I will suggest that it made the same way as the V1.

With the RD, the cuff is stitched to the upper upside down and then folded up and glued. The cloth outer needs to be attached and secured after the initial stitching, but before the glueing. This way you get a shoe with no seams on the outside. The pull holes would also be done before the cuff is glued in as well.

In the case of the V1 (and it looks like the V2 as well), the cuff is sewn on as a separate peice and why it has that seam around the collar. Unless you intend to completely rebuild the shoe, I doubt a correction is possible.

I think most people can live with the uppers. The stitching is obvious, but not that big of a deal breaker.

They've actually got the upper shape almost dead on.

Depending on how they've wired this thing and how badly you want to make the shoes accurate as possible, then the best bet would be to neatly cut off the entire uppers, remove the leds from the soles, and add the EL for soles, and strap, and rewire the heel cup LED lights back in, and just fix the toe and you will have a virtual identical mag replica for a bargain price.

I think you would be best to remove the clear sole, add the EL and use the existing wire. Trace that back to the switch and battery add the inverter in the line there.

Basically taking the same wiring system people have already reused like SO2 and Jedifyfe and others, and just implementing it into this knockoff.

It shouldn't be too difficult. The only problem will be the actual removal of the uppers, since they will be probably glued like hell.

I think a steamer and some crafty knife skills will be required!

Do we even know about the power supply? Cloneprops made a comment yesterday that there does not appear to be a charge port like the RDs and that would be partly because the AnkleBuckle/Strap is removeable and not fixed like the RD MAG.

I woudl like to know what makes these run before even suggesting a tear down. Adding EL to the Strap? correction? Sure. I would not be cutting the uppers off to replace the LEDs in the sole though.

Does anyone have good enough wholesale contacts to just get the shoes Disassembled? Just a thought...

I think it might be more viable just getting a V3 made than getting them to mod these V2s.

I think people will keep a good section of the electronics because it is rechargeable.

i was told the charge only lasts 5 hours on them.

i wonder what battery they are using? guess we will have to see before doing any major overhauls.

There actually is a charging port. It's at the top of the white buckle instead of the bottom for some reason. You can slightly see them on the rear view image. I'm not sure how people missed that through all this time.

Which site is this factory supplying?

As has been said before it's unlikely that there are different versions from different factories. Most of these sites are pretty much set on doing anything to make a sale, even claiming their product is better...even when it is identical.

It reminds me of stories from a guy I used to know who worked in China fr many years. He would talk about how being a westerner, he'd constantly be stopped by multiple guys on the street yelling "copy watch?" (Fake Rolexes and the like) They'd stop him and each would tell him that theirs was the "first best quality! Exact copy!"

He later found out in his time there that not only did most of them have the same exact fake watches, but some of the guys claiming theirs were more exact...worked together. It's all about the sale, not reality.

Yeah... sounds very plausible. I guess we get what we pay for.

I know the LEDs in the clear sole are not accurate but I've noticed most LEDs photograph with major hotpots, that are not always seen in person. I'm hoping this is the case, or maybe a small amount of light diffusion layered in there will do the trick.

Sounds like that could work. Use a heat gun to peel the clear sole down, and add in an opaque film to diffuse the light. Glue the soles back on and done.

Ummm... They didn't. It was mentioned several times in the very first few posts after the images were posted.

I decided to chat with the "Vicky" from shoesbagonline and ask if the images we got were the same as the ones they will be releasing next week.

She said she hasn't seen the real shoes but the factory confirms that these are the same ones they will be selling. So I guess none of them will have EL lights in the strap..

Here's the transcript:

Me 21:18:41
Are they the same?

Vicky 21:19:09
the pics are the same

Me 21:19:38
So there are no lights in the straps?

Vicky 21:20:07
i haven't see it real shoes now

Me 21:20:16
I see.

Vicky 21:20:21
but our factory said will be same as pic show

Me 21:20:41
Oh sad... I wish it had lights in the strap like the real ones.

Me 21:20:46
ok thanks.

Vicky 21:20:53
my pleasure

Just finished talking to Vicky from shoesbagonsale and she says she's seen the leaked pics but cannot confirm if those are the ones they are selling. She also told me she will send me pics of the shoes they get and allow me to decide whether or not I want them or a refund. I brought up the toe box flaw and the EL light flaw and she said she will contact the factory. They had to break for lunch but will be back in an hour.
