Yes please as a picture always describes thing like this better. I agree, the real MAG is the original 1989 shoe and the 2011 RD MAG always looks like a show piece.



That could work. Again, it would have to be done by someone willing to contribute and use their expensive shoes.

The challenge is not only to get the shape right when working off 2D images, but making it actually align to a sole. A few members have thrown ideas my way, and I appreciate their efforts, however some just don't 'fit' when scaling them into a design that will be folded into a 3D shape. In a flat 2D pattern, you can have any shape you desire. The game changes once you add that 3rd dimension and that when those straight lines bend around a curved profile.

If I was to round off the back, I think I would lose the width I gained. In 3D this is sort of like a cone, getting wider at the top to accommodate my calf.

I will see if I can stuff these uppers with socks or similar to see what shape they change into.

the key to getting the right shape is to look at the images of the movie used and 2011 shoes. you can see from the back how curved it is, and how it joins up.

I've managed to replicate it almost dead on through a bit of trial and error.
I'll post up some pics shortly.

I hope they are. The size US10s I owned were just on 8" tall. Way too short. It would be nice if someone with these V2s could post a pic with their shoes and a tape or ruler.



Anything that is MAG related and not a genuine NIKE MAG is technically a knock off and has every right to be in this thread. Besides, it was fun when others were discussing their work on their shoes.

Then the V2 images came out and suddenly it was the official V2 MAG thread. The funny part is, only a select few ever got their V2 MAGs and then there was talk about a V3 or V2.5 or call it what ever you like.

The point being, what is the point of a dedicated discussion thread on these Chines made MAGs when no one has these shoes and therefore nothing constructive to discuss. The thread won't go anywhere except down to the gutter with people complaining all they got was ripped off.

If there's nothing constructive, then leave the thread idle until there IS something. My email gets hammered every day with updates and 99% of them are nothing to do the the 'NIKE MAG Knockoffs' that this thread was designed for.

Your project is cool, but things should be kept to their own threads so that those interested can follow it in one place.

I think ALL these "scumbag's" should be reported. I reported one about a week ago, but made the mistake of calling him out in a message first. We went back and forth a couple times before I ended up reporting it. He ended the auction early before they had a chance to pull it. The shoes went for over 3 grand.

I was thinking about this issue, and I came up with a rather creative idea to warn ebayers about purchasing these at such a high price. A handful of us should get some extra pairs and put a bunch up on ebay with a buy it now price of exactly what we paid. In the description we can clearly state that we are doing this to warn buyers that there are many scammers out there selling replica nike mags just like these for thousands, and people are buying. Just a warning. Might stir some things up eh?

The issue here is that they will sell in a matter of minutes so not many people will see it. Plus you'd have to raise the price since eBay and paypal get a cut otherwise you'll lose money.

Ye that Karin person i am trying to get in touch with just to see if they ship to the U.K with EMS, some sellers refuse to use EMS in the U.K and only want to use DHL (they charge over $100 for shipping)

Have it delivered to someone in the states and then have them deliver it to you using USPS.

I've ordered the v2's and sending them to my work address as I printed off work postage labels today so she can put them on my parcel to hopefully help in its arrival, fingers crossed I get them.

I have ordered Aqua coloured LEDs as I will be replacing the blue ones in the soles, as they are just not doing it for me "shivers" (also it should be a easy enough mod) oh I will be doing the EL strap and lastly the toe fix, I work fast so expect to see pics around end of December/start January, but as I said that's if they even arrive.

Long time lurker, first time poster. I just had to make a comment since I've been following this thread for quite a while now.

As many of you, I ordered my Nike Mags when they first was announced. I ordered my pair from pickgoodshoes and waited... No mails no nothing. Finally I asked when the **** they would ship my order, and got the all too familiar answer: "we have tried to contact you. You have to pay $80 more"

At this point (one week ago), I though to myself: I've probably lost my other cash at this point, so **** it. If I pay $80 more I can at least file a claim on them rather soon..

Lo and behold. Today my Mags arrived. A bit more expansive than I would have liked. But hey, I would not have been able to create a better pair myself for a total of $279. But I sure as hell can mod them to my liking in the future

Quality is better than I thought it would be. And they are pretty comfortable. They are however a pain to put on, since the laces are a bit on the short side. Nothing a shoehorn doesn't fix.

The biggest minus is of course the non light strap. So that will be modded in time (I have some other projects to complete first).

Just giving you all the heads up, that at least they deliver.

Good picture pal - it was the same as me with chinashop - i Paid the $190 for a pair, I was then given an email saying that all shoes had been returned due to bad quality, I then asked if i paid a little bit more, would they send me a pair - and they said yes.

I paid using western union and it was expensive due to the western union fee`s (which are terrible)

Im waiting on mine, I defo wont get them for christmas - but im looking forward to getting them - i was told last night that the box will be bashed.

Hi Taff, I am considering buying a pair of these but the strap and lights are keeping me undecided. I live in England (Manchester) and was wondering if you'd be considering modding, at a cost of course, for people in the UK at all?

But why stop there? What's at the top of your tree? A flux capacitor? Do your Christmas tree lights flicker with blue electricity when the power hits 88 volts? Do you have a Christmas train set running around the base of the tree pushing a Delorean and pumping out colourful smoke?
