Dang that emitter is sexy...

Question for you all, On the K4 emitter should sandpaper or steel wool be used to take that black finish off and what grit should be used.

SithSim, I have heard red scotchbrite pad should do the trick. I haven't had a chance to do mine yet.

Got my 2 MPP and they are gorgeous! Was curious what everyone was using for blade retention and/or blade plug retention as the 4-40 screw at the top of the activation button isn't long enough.

IF it helps, this was posted regarding the MPP 2.0 topic over at fx-sabers:

Yes they are too short for blade retention use. I figure the best bet for a retention screw is the one between the two thumbscrews. The top thumbscrew does not pass through and I am pretty sure the other thumbscrew is custom made and you wont be able to find a longer version. The screw between them is a #4-40 button head with hex socket. Bolt Depot is a good US source for very small orders. May even be able to order just one.

So funny enough, I found that the two screws that make up the holes for the B port are in the right spot to be screwed in as blade plug retention screw. It'll sit about a 1/16" below the lip where it should be but so far works well for me!

thanks for the info though!

The proper length for the top screw should be 1/2...ive been buying and testing a ton of screws and found what I think is the best setup for accuracy and function...selling kits on facebook but im not sure about the rules as far as advertising stuff on here since im still pretty new so I dont want to post a link.

Just finished my K4 tonight. Went for a light weathering. I painted the black sections flat black then sanded parts down. I also swapped out the clamp for one of Romans. I airbrushed the gold sections and emitter lightly. Lastly I used my lathe to add a little bevel to the bottom of the blade holder section below the emitter to make it just a bit more accurate.

Nice andrew25rs! So all you did was use flat black and sanding on the grenade and booster? I've been toying with several options on mine but your way might be the way to go!

The exact process was a light scuff with a scotch brite pad to the grenade and booster. Then a light but complete coat of flat black sprayed through my airbrush (that detail shouldn't matter) just did that because I knew it would dry fast. Then once dry just took the same scotch brite pad and rubbed the sections til the silver just started to peak through. Then chose a couple specific areas to take down just a little more to make it look worn more. Especially the corners and edges parts.
And that's it!
In the end it leaves it looking blued in the worn areas and matte in the areas where the scrub pad didn't hit.

Untouched it was just a little to semi gloss for me. Looked more prequel than OT.
Good luck [emoji106]

That Obi saber looks great! Your weathering really improves the look of the saber tremendously. Kudos!

For any who might still want to own any of the sabers I have in stock

I still have more of the following:

MPP 2.0 - $195 US
DV6 - $225 US
OWK - $225 US
K4 - $225 US
DM1 - double sided saber hilt $200

and more Graflex 2.0 $195

easiest way to get 1 or more, is to email me at korbanth47@gmail.com - I wont have these for very much longer and no more will be re-ordered so once I sell the dwindling remaining stock, I am all out of these models...

Received my MPP 2.0 today, and it is awesome. I ordered it from the webpage, and it took less than a week to receive it. Thanks.
