Hello! My name is Chris and I'm new here. I've been looking for a place with people who have the same interests in modeling . I have been getting back into modeling after 3 years off. I built models and competed for many years. My favorites are star trek models having built or scratchbuilt around 100

Hi everyone,

I'm a long time lurker something like 10 years and now first time posting. I draft in cad, 3D print and always looking for new and creative ways to make my favorite film props come to life. Looking forward to meeting everyone!

Hello everyone,

20 some years ago did some kits and scenarios of which i kept very little.
From time to time i recover/repurpose old stuff into usable items with some visual appeal.
Never did an actual prop and found this forum by accident wile looking for some info on the Rexim-Favor SMG.

Here's some pics:

Some old wooden box weathered.
Done very fast, 1 1/2 hours (forgotten anniversary gift lol)

My sincere thanks to all the great cosplayers and costumers here who have inspired me over the years. I'm happy to be here and to count myself amongst your number.

Now, where's the rum...

Hey all! I stumbled across this site doing research for building the DeAgostini Millennium Falcon. I found Sofa King's 1:1 MF Cockpit build thread and pulled a 3 day marathon reading every page. Wow! Eventually I'm sure I'll post a build thread. In the mean time, hoping to gleen some new info and just enjoy what everyone here does. Glad to be on board!

As you can guess from my screen name and avatar (as of this writing), I am an Alien fan and have been one since I saw my first magazine article on that film back in 1978. I am one of the few people who sticks mostly to one sci-fi franchise, but sometimes I wander off to check out other universes.

Due to arthritis and a neurological condition, I can do very few things with precision, so I don't do any scale modeling or prop making anymore. I am glad to see that the flame is still going and greatly admire (and envy) what you folks do here. Although I can contribute little, I hope that you can accept someone lurking over your shoulders who is fascinated by your skills.

Wow, almost 500 pages of Welcomes. I am a newbie to RPF, and somewhat of a newbie to prop making in general. I have experience in wood working, leather working, and am just getting started in 3D printing. I've been doing Cosplay with my wife for about 5 years, we love the hobby. I love hobbies where I have to buy more tools! The right tool for the job, right? I don't have any handy pictures to show, but I'm getting a jump in next year's Emerald City Comic Con by starting to work on 2 costumes from Guardian's of the Galaxy 2: Yondu, and Starlord. I'll be 3D printing some, making some leather pieces, maybe some cast pieces.

In case I don't post too frequently... I'll have fun lurking and learning!

HI I'am Adam,
I like 3D printing, foam smithing, and casting and molding. I have been prop making for 1 year now, and that's around about it. If you want to come check out what I am doing then hit up my account.

Hello all!

I'm here because I saw Wonder Woman with my ten-year-old daughter and as soon as the credits rolled, she turned to me and said "soooo we should probably just start working on my Halloween costume now. . . ."

I've never done this kind of thing before. I can sew, and I'm a painter, but I've never worked with foam or worbla or any of that stuff. But I love my daughter, and all the store-bought WW kids' costumes are cute instead of badass, so FINE let's do this thing. How hard can it be, right?

. . . right?

Hello everyone! New to the site and already love it here. I've been working on various projects for a long time and figured it's better to get more opinions on them, hopefully I can be of some help to someone and look forward to working with this community. Right now I'm trying to figure out this tricky silicone....

Hello!

My Name is Teejay but everyone calls me Grax. I have peeked into the RPF a few times while watching things Adam Savage does when he mentions it, and I just decided to finally attempt to build my first prop replica.

I wanted to build something that meant something to me, yet not too difficult and affordable. I decided on the Oscillation Overthruster from Buckaroo Banzai. I found some 3d files I am taking to my local community workshop to print for my first attempt. Should be doing it this week. in the mean time if anyone has any ideas to throw at me or any help I would appreciate it!

Hello, I'm Christina, long time lurker, first time poster. I'm a professional illustrator and pixelartist, and also love to make stuff. I'm preparing my first foam build. ^-^ Nice to meet everyone

Hello fellow prop lovers! My name is Jesse and I'm a huge Star Wars fan! (Among other things) I recently purchased a vintage graflex and I had some questions about some of its specifics. I've poured through pages and pages of fantastic threads and it's left my head spinning! In a good way! There is so much knowledge to gain here it's amazing! I'm not sure where to go to post my images and questions, but I'll probably find the right place after exploring. If you would like to help point me in the correct direction to ask questions about my graflex I'd be very grateful. Super rad community and I'm excited to become part of it!

Hello everyone

I have been reading this site for a while but only recently joined. I'm from Canada and have been building models on and off since the mid 70's. I think I started out with the old original monster models, dracula, Wolf man, hunchback, franky etc. Then moved to ww2 vehicles. My interest lately are Star Wars and vinyl.

I, probably like most of you, have lots of kits sitting around waiting for a build. I have a half dozen vinyl 1/6 kits, Frankenstein, R2D2, C3PO, Darth, Boba plus a few 1/72 Tie, XWING. Also several WW2 planes in 1/72 and 1/48.

I've only just started the vinyl frankenstein to get back into things...it's been a few years.

Hello all! Hello to Everyone on RPF, I've visited this site many times and finally took the time to create an account, I'm amazed at all the talent on this forum, I'm a big fan of Sci-fi and have watched tons of tv shows and I love collecting props even if they're replicas, I've come here in the hopes of adding a few more pieces to my collection!

Good day all. After a few years of lurking I finally have joined up. I have been making costumes since 1985. I love making replicas. I have been very bad about not photographing what I've done. I am an avid seamstress, crafts and lampworker (blow torch and glass). I am one of those too many projects and not enough time to do them type. I've been working on a 40' workspace made from a shipping container and next will be working on a craft/sewing room. I bought a Silhouette Cameo years ago with the plan to use it for cutting out props.

Hi all!

I'm Jeff. I was an active sci-fi model builder in my youth and have for some time wanted to revisit the hobby. About a year ago a started to tinker with some replica props (Harry Potter wands) which helped my skills enough to progress to more involved projects. I've been modding toys to learn painting and finishing techniques and have completed a couple of found object ray gun projects. My son recommended the RPF and I was immediately impressed with the community and encouragement and resources shared by the members. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to participate.

Hey everyone

I'm Minh. I'm 13 years old and ive began making helmets 2 years ago with cardboard. Ive been lurking around this site looking to see what people have been up to for quite some time now,and finally ive decided to make an account. I really like making stuff so i decided to get into 3D printing and invested in a 3D printer. Im currently looking for some fun stuff to build (specifically helmet and masks). So hello to the world of the RPF.
