Hello Everyone,

My name is Harrison and I've always loved prop building. I have a replica of K-9 from Doctor Who that I built from scratch and am working on making him remote controlled. In the future I plan on building a timey wimey detector as well as an adipose detector!

Hi folks,
I thought I'd introduce myself as I'm going to spend (and have been spending) a lot of time looking and reading here. I'm a member of Garrison Titan of the 501st Legion as ESB Boba Fett, and some of us are going to build a X-34 Landspeeder for photos and parades. I'll start a build thread about that.

Hi everyone,

I'm excited to be part of this amazing community and looking forward to both getting help and helping those in need. I have always been interested in cosplaying as I have been building cardboard helmets and making cheap camera movies with my siblings and friends since I was a kid and now as an adult I have stepped up my game with the costumes. Looking forward to hearing from everyone else!

Hello:

I have been a maker for a long time, but have been only cosplaying and prop building for about eight years at DragonCon. I am currently working on Baze Malbus from Rouge One. I have done old Luke, Obi-wan from the Start Wars universe. I did one anime: the cabbage merchant from Avatar: The Last Airbender. I do King Arthur and an animatronic Black Knight from the Holy Grail. Finally, I built an approximate 1/3 scale Trojan Rabbit from the same. I help my daughter with her cosplays and props as well.

Steve

Hi I'm Steevels,
Haven't really done much prop making, quite a bit of very amateurish scale model building and that's it, however I'm always looking for a new challenge. This might be a bit much but I'm going to have a go. At the moment I'm trying the track down information on building a couple of helmets. The Classic BSG helmet and the flight helmet from the original Wing Commander game.

So that's me, I'l apologise now for the silly questions that I might ask.

Hi everyone!
So excited to be here! Wow!
I stumbled onto this lovely site while researching ideas for a Harry Potter party- specifically my niece's 10th birthday party. I have *tons* of ideas swimming around in my head (which makes me think I found where all the cool kids hang out, because these posts are just amazing so far!) ended up clicking on HP recipe posts, which lead to labeling, and decor... (you know, the "wiki-walking" that happens at 2am on a Tuesday night) and then finally here! I can't believe I've never even seen this website before, but here we are.
I'm so glad I made it here, I've barely scratched the surface of this talent mine, and I'm already gobsmacked. Hopefully I can also contribute in some small way, all the while soaking in the knowledge already present.
Looking forward to the fun ahead!
Katie

Hello all,.... I've been modeling most of my life, I've recently started scratchbuilding, and kit bashing. Looking for friends with same interests to share ideas. Being a disabled Veteran, I don't have the resources to buy a lot of kits, and have mainly been recycling old builds... I'm new to this "forum" thing so bear with me. I love some of the talent displayed here, and look forward to seeing peoples imaginations come out in their hobby. Thanks for letting be apart of this... It keeps the mind busy, and inspiration high!!! :thumbsup

Hello people, my name is Wesley Alvis.I have only began using the RPF then my I lost my password and only started using it now, I am building a semi-functional Sonic Screwdriver using modified cases from the show.

Hi there, I just joined up primarily to source a steel barrel for my newly acquired Tomenosuke Blaster 2049 - and I've done so with help from Teddz (thanks again!). Like a lot of people I expect, I've wanted a Blade Runner blaster for years and years and never could afford one, luckily I was able to get the new 2049 kit Tomenosuke just released. Building it now, and learning as I go! Hopefully it will turn out ok, if so I'll post pictures. I'm not after a super accurate replica, but it will hopefully look roughly correct with a bit of weathering. I've collected a lot of reference - mainly from Mark Raats website (big fan, I'm an artist also who enjoys making alternative movie posters) so I can't go far wrong! I'm not a huge collector, got a lot of old model kits, a Hot Toys Iron Man and a Vader's Vault Graflex lightsaber. The blaster will easily be the star of the show

Hello! I'm not actually new, I've had my profile for some time.. but I have not been active. I'm not new to costumes, but I'm making them now with the goal of entering into contests with my builds. :)

My most recent builds were Inuyasha and Miroku from 'Inuyasha: A Feudal Fairytale' with the goal of making the fabric portions have design sourced from actual clothing approximate to the period. My pride and joy is my 5'9" Tessaiga build, which is light enough to carry all day but strong enough to stand up to a convention floor.

Hey every morning one im Tracy. I just found this site by accident an glad I did. I'm new to here an prop makin as well. I've been a painting an drawing most of my life in hobby an work an I've always wanted to get into prop design so I figure just go ahead an jump in an start. An thanks for letting gg fee be here.

Hello everyone-

I've joined the RPF because I intend to build a DLT-19 as a Christmas gift for a good friend. I'm using the plans that a guy on YouTube that goes by Happy Trooper has published. The only two things that I want to do differently from his plans are making a different bipod and I'd like to add blaster sound effects that are activated by the trigger. I've got dome remedial woodworking skills and access to some tools. I'm mainly looking for advice on those two areas.

Hi everyone!
I've been searching for inspiration for a build I've been planning for years! My search led me here. I'm working on building a few sculpures that are part metal/organic(plaster)/ whatever else i throw in! Excited to discuss work with fellow builders :)

Hello, I've followed the Cosplay communities for a couple of years but didn't think I had the skills to actually make anything acceptable. I see some of the pieces people make that look as good, sometimes better than what I see on screen, and I think anything I did would be an embarrassment. But at the same time I attend Cons and wonder about all the fun I seem to be missing. So I'm ready to start working on some costumes, but have little idea what I'm doing. But it's a first step!

In college I had a PT job at a small theatrical costume supply warehouse. Basically I kept inventory of mens costumes and accessories, and if a request for a specific type of costume came in, I would 'put together' an outfit as closely as possible to the request. Any necessary alterations or modifications would go to a different department. So while I know little about the actual design and construction of costumes, I am familiar with actual clothing - particularly historic mens costuming.

Hello,
Glad to be a part of this group.

My name is Shawn Cantey (aka Crookknight) a Centurion Level Heavy Weapons Stormtrooper with the Carolina Garrison of the 501st. I love to design and build all the different types of Star Wars packs from all the different era's.

Hi, I'm Bill, from the Salt Lake City area, and I love cosplaying. I have made some pretty easy costumes for Harry Potter, and Doctor Who. I made a pretty decent Dalek. I am looking to up my game by doing some foam pepakura. I'd really like to do some Cyberman armor to go with my Dalek. I hope you all can help.
Thanks,
Bill

hello!! i'm grey, i'm really interested in replica props and costumes, particularly space suits (sci-fi or real) and other space related props. i'm pretty new to building replicas, but i've made a few (pretty dodgy) cosplays in the past. I hope to be able to improve my skills and learn new techniques, as i want to pursue prop and costume design as a potential career.
