Hey all!

My name is Danny - I've actually been making props since 2007, but in my own secluded corner of the internet and mostly for friends. I'm a stickler for quality, and went to school with a degree in filmmaking... not only did I get to tell stories, but I could make my own little gadgets and props as needed. :)

There's been a couple of times where I started selling in very small batches to clubs and groups like a local 501st chapter, but not as a dedicated effort. I'm more interested in creating the prop and showing it off - only a couple of us can get rich off of the prop business, after all.

With the recent investment in a 3D printer I figured I'd poke my nose back into the community. Occasionally I might post pictures or progress, but mostly here to learn and enjoy. I'm an open book, so if you have any questions then ask away!

Hello,

I'm Jake and I found this site while researching foam techniques to help me make my family's halloween costumes this year. They turned out great with some of the posts on this site. Now I think I've gotten the prop/costume making bug and now my wife an I are planning on cosplaying at ECCC in March.

Hi! My name is Van. Im currently enrolled as a sophomore majoring in Product Design and have a common interest of making any and everything. I have a decent amount of undocumented replica experience, the one good picture I have of my most recent convention suit im going to attach bellow. Like I said I love to make and want to do so for the rest of my life so who why not connect with others to learn a bit.

This was a rather quick project. Didnt realize when the convention was so had 7 days and this was my 2nd prototype. (Little rough, want to make a more permanent model)

Hiya! Glad to be on RPF. I came across this forum while searching for help/ ideas/ inspiration for a millenium falcon room I am getting ready to dive into. I'll post more on that separately. I enjoy building themed rooms. My first room design was for my folks basement theater done up hacienda style. I recently completed converting my daughters basement bedroom into Diagon Alley. My boys are now after me to do up their room Star Wars themed and I am knee deep into designing it now. Finding this site has brought a treasure trove of talented people to learn from and I look forward to becoming a part of the community!

Here are a few pics of the Diagon alley room if anyone is interested. :)

Hi!
My name's Sabrina - but everyone incl. family usually call me Yoshi - and I'm from Germany.
I grew up with a lot of dressing up since I live quite close to Cologne and Düsseldorf but started Cosplay in 2003. After a 5 year long break from Cosplaying I found this forum and already learned so much about all these 'new' things like Worbla and lace front wigs, 3D Printed Props etc. It's so amazing and I am really grateful to all you talented people for taking your time to post about how to do things and answering questions :)

Hello RPF
I have been visiting the RPF for a few year now.. I am currently working on three different costumes: Kylo Ren, ESB Han Solo, and Flametrooper.

Hello everyone!

Short time lurker, hopefully long time contributor.

I've started trying to create a costume from The Fifth Element and after getting stuck thought this forum would be the place to come!

hello,

i was looking for ways to cure silicone molds faster and ran across this site. I am an amateur artist that uses art as a healing tool. I dabble in all kinds of things. like carving, metal working, the closest thing that i came to for making props was for my battle buddies kids and my platoon for a larping thing they had signed up for but didnt have enough players so we all decided to support him and his family. I only wish I had pictures of the weapons we made for that. We won by default because we are 12b's and we just looked to damn cool to die... lol. really we just didnt know the rules... but we had fun. and most of all his kids had fun. My therapist says i need to get out more and meet new people, i know this isnt what she means, but i say this should qualify... baby steps... i posted some of my art and if you would like to see more you can follow me on instagram if you want @aforsakensoldier oh yeah i am still active duty. i just would rather stay on a base or deploy i dont know, i really cant explain why

Hi all,
I have been a silent member for a little while now but I don't think I have ever introduced myself. I have been putting together my dream character, ESB Boba Fett, for the last three years and I am finally at the finish line. I spend most of my time at TDH but am looking to see what else is out there in regards to characters I may want to pursue in the future. Outside of my Fett obsession, I am a husband and father to a happy little family, I teach science, which is my true passion in life, and I enjoy cycling, playing music, working with electronics, astronomy, public outreach work, and baseball (Go Nats!). I was recently accepted into the 501st Legion as a member of the Old Line Garrison which I am very excited about. The few troops I have been on have been amazing fun. I am very happy to be here.

Here is a shot of my ESB Boba Fett:

Take care!

I actually found this site a number of years ago, however, life has a way of getting in the way. Purely by accident I stumbled on it again. This time I decided to register and book mark so I don't loose track again.

Hey everyone,
My name is Max and I'm from Germany. I used to sculpt and make props for my own (James Bond inspired) action movies when I was a teenager and have just decided to pick that up again. Loved reading some of the threads here so I decided to sign up.

Hello everyone! I'm a relatively new prop/costume maker looking for tips and tricks on crafting my own cosplay. Right now I'm still in the gathering tools and supplies phase, so if anyone has any info on tools I should get, send me a message!

Hello everyone,
My name is Ayen and I'm a newbie Malaysia. Reading therpf for fun and searching for ideas.

Been building props for personal use for over a decade. Been away from costuming and building for a few years. Decided to get back into things now that life has calmed down

I found this site after researching a few movie props I was interested in recreating. Among them are Deckard's gun from Blade Runner, and Han Solo's DL-44 Blaster. I can't wait to dive into the forum, everyone seems really helpful and enthusiastic.

I also love makeup effects and have since I was a child. I've never made my own molds or casts, but I'm very interested to learn the process.

Hello everyone!
I just wanted to introduce myself real quick.

My name is Thomas, I'm from Germany and been doing cosplay since late 2013. I found this forum when I was searching for reference pictures of Star-Lords outfit (which I found here). And now I wanted to give a little bit back to the community here.
So I will make one of my first posts in the near future.

Hope we have a great time here together.

Just wanted to say hi! I am from Vienna / Austria and I normally do Videogames, haven't been into props till now. But I like to hack stuff up.

I came here to do my MPC Millennium Falcon I found some days ago at a flea market. It is a used kit, and I want to rebuild it, so I can be proud of it and hang it into my kitchen .. or so. :p

Hope everything goes well and I got fun here!

Cheers,
Timeactor
