Hello.

Thanks to Adam from Mythbusters constantly talking about the RPF I have now joined. I have a feeling that this may become a bit of an addiction!

Current obsessions include Batman (Frank Miller, Jeph Loeb, etc); Preacher; Deadwood; Pixar (especially Monster's Inc); Misfits, and various toys, gadgets, and shiny things.

Hopefully I adhere to the etiquette of the RPF, but hope that you can forgive noob mistakes.

Have a good 'un.

Greetings, everyone!

RydenTyler here. I've been a long time lurker. I recently decided to slowly work on a Classic Spider-man costume. This forum has taught me so much in regards to making costumes and props. I'm recently getting in to the hobby little by little because it can be very costly. My hope is to learn more from everyone and be a better cosplayer.

Cheers!

HELLO FROM LOMPOC, CA

I've been a Star Wars, armor, and Sci-First fan for three decades.

I've now been able to fun ally start collecting and getting some if my favorite stuff made for me.

I'm currently pursuing Stormtroopers. I've done A LOT if reading on the internet, and more than once this group had come up.

So I figured I should join it. :)

Like I said, I'm a fan of Star Wars and Stormtroopers, so I'm also looking into joining The 501st Legion.
In case you don't know them, they are a costuming club, which means they are all about being authentic, and they can spy a misstep from a mile away.

This brings me to a current need.
I want to dress up as a shiny black stormtrooper, but I have no idea where to get a shiny non tie fighter helmet.

If anyone can tell me, if much appreciate it.

(After a lot of reading on the Legions and the Dented Helmet forums, I've emailed the fan prop makers. They don't have a black ABS one.
So I searched on eBay and the only have one for $2,000. (Is it made out of carbon fiber?!)

So I have done my research. If it wasn't for specific Legion standards, I would just buy an eFX standard white professional replica and spray paint it glossy black. But I'm not sure they would accept that.

Hey :)
I'm Adam. 20 years old from Newcastle in England.
I'm a huge Spider-Man fan and I'm currently working on a Superior Spider-Man costume.
I'm hoping to meet like minded people and get some help with my costume!

Hello All,

I found this site through a Tested video Adam Savage posted to his Twitter feed. I have been lurking for a while to see what it was about. I am a member of a couple of other forums, and moderator on one. I have previously done action figure customs and scale replica diorama. I never considered replica props before, I did however build an Adam syringe unknowingly inspired by Volpin's. It was a bit of rush job, so the results are not all that great. I am gathering parts slowly for a version 2. My current project is an ASHPD inspired by this site. I have found awesome techniques here and hope to be able to share some of my knowledge as well.

Hi everyone,

My names Daniel and I'm new here.

I enjoy making things and recently decided to try my luck making a lightsaber. Thats how I found this site.

I hope to learn a lot from you all.

Hi, Mark here, ......I'm just outside Chicago,..... started a Pee Wee Herman x-1 bicycle that led me to the RPF but I'm interested in many other things. Looking forward to learning and sharing.

Hey :)

Just joined, so a quick intro from me, i sorta stumbled on this site and thought i'd join :)

Started my first costume build this weekend (on a small scale but it's still challenging).

I'm in N. Ireland and will share a proper intro tomorrow/when less tired.

Hey y'all!

My name is Erin, I'm from middle-of-nowhere Kansas! Been creeping on the site for a while now but just now officially joined. I've been into costuming since 2006 and I'm really starting to get "serious" about it now. So far I've done mostly sewing based projects but my last couple costumes have been really armor intensive- I love it!! I'm also really starting to get into making props, trying to make my stuff look more pro.

Super excited to be here!

Hi there,

A friend pointed me here because I was talking about one of my movie prop projects. It took me a moment or two to find the 'intros' thread, but here I am at last!

Great forum BTW and I look forward to being inspired by all the amazing stuff that everyone makes.

See you all around.

Bruce, from Brisol (UK)

Hi there,

Alex, from England, came here from the 405th for all the Starcraft love I see on the forums. Still trying to upload my build for my terran marine....

Hey everyone! My name is Corey, I just graduated with my degree in biology, and I live in Ohio. I'm extremely new to the RPF and I don't even own any props! It's something I plan on getting into once I can find work in my field. My interests include DC Comic superheroes such as Batman (my absolute favorite), the Green Arrow, and Aquaman. I also love Star Wars, the Lord of the Rings franchise, Game of Thrones, and Sherlock. I play video games and read comics, pretty standard nerd stuff! I will apologize in advance for any mistakes I make while I'm here. I'm still learning the ropes of the RPF!

I hope I get to interact with you all here soon!

Thanks,
Corey

Hey everyone, been frequenting here for years, even contributed to many back in the day but all has been lost and or deleted with the new forums. So not a NEW member per se'.

Over the last 15 years spent most of my time in Star Wars and joined with the 501st for a collection of costumes, assembly and friendship that has taken me all over the world. Member of the Fedora Lounge for the ROTLA replicas too.

And while I have always been into Spidey, it wasn't until last year I shared in making my own AS2 costume that brought me back full into the RPF. In that respect, thanks to a few members here for making this possible (Luna, Tjack and Orhadar). Although I would like to thank one other sadly I cannot as he has caused a load of grief. Perhaps others here share in this experience with Rob Gunderson and can help fish him out or at least warn others before they fall victim.

Here's to many more friendships...
