Hello all! I've been lurking for ages, but now that I'm free from the shackles of married life, I've decided to start tackling all of the props/projects I've wanted to do! Looking forward to sharing some, hopefully, good looking projects in the very near future.

Hi everyone,
I've been reading the site for some time now and decided I should join. Amazing stuff here. I'm a big fan of Star Wars, Alien, and horror movies.

Hi, I'm Robin and i am from The Netherlands. I am a member of the 501st Legion(Dutch Garrison).
In the future i want a constume that is from a different genre so a friend pointed me here, so here i am :D

Hi everyone ! Nice meeting you all !
I'm Pauline, I'm French and I'm here because this site is a goldmine for people like me who like to collect everything from the movies/tv shows/video games they love ! Anyway, I'm a Potterhead, a Whovian, a Sherlock addict, a Star Wars lover. Give me a movie and a book and I'm happy !

I'm John in Ontario, Canada. I've been a speculative fiction fan since ST-TOS. I also watched the first moon walk; yes, I'm that old. I play a little WWII airsoft and have performed in community theatre. I hang out with people who don't need an excuse to party in a costume. My wife is an excellent sewer and has created some amazing outfits for halloween and for the stage. My current project is to produce a faithful reproduction of the WWII RAF fighter pilot's leather helmet, types 'B' and 'C'. I'm hoping to put together a passable 'Brannegan' from Doctor Who.They'll also be good for steampunk and historical WWII impressions.

Re: >> New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! <<

Hi There,

I'm Bart from Minnesota. I'm a Cartoonist & Signmaker. I found this forum by accident while looking for fabrication tips & tricks (found some!). I do not have much by way of a collection, just a couple of odd pieces. I'm into a broad range of Film, TV, and Comic; very into Doctor Who and Sonic Screwdrivers. I made a "Found Object" Screwdriver for a friend a while back... itching to make a really great one for myself.

Light but no sound on this one.

Greetings,

I've been lurking for quite some time and thought it was time to introduce myself. I'm an art school drop-out (its the only way to go :thumbsup) who has studied industrial design technology, special effects, game art, graphic design, etc, etc. I even had the opportunity to work for Zippo for a period of time on a temporary basis as a graphic artist, designing lighters, although my current profession has nothing to do with my passion. I'll be relocating for a new position within the next few weeks but hope to share some projects in the not too distant future. This is an amazing community with amazingly talented, artistic, and helpful people and I look forward to becoming a part of it. Thank you to everyone for being continually inspiring!

Good good evening everyone,

I've been hanging out here for a while, but never got around to signing up. I've been building scale models for about the past 25 years and just now really getting into props. I've got some ideas but I've been getting a whole lot more since I've been scoping out the threads.

Keep building
Mike

Hi!

I'm new! Just wanted to say what an amazing website this is! You are all so talented!
I am currently putting together a Boba Fett costume, just thought I'd say Hi! :)

Hi Everyone,

I'm Ray, and I've been a lurking the Forums for a couple of years. This year is the year I decided to pull the trigger to become a member a couple of days ago. I found out about The RPF after stumbling across the Indie Mogul BFX channel.

For as long as I can remember,I've been a avid movie and video game geek, mostly Sci-fi, fantasy, and cartoons. Growing up on the Adventures of Sinbad, Indiana Jones, Buck Rodgers and the 21st Century, Godzilla, and “Creature Double Feature” fueled my childhood's imagination. This passion still burn brightly for me to this day, (I guess suffer a little from the “Lost Boy” syndrome) (Please don't judge... ;)).

Memories of myself laying on the roof of the family's Ford LTD, going to the Drive-in, seeing awesome movies like Star Wars ANH, Alien, and Black Hole. Unfortunately me being a kid, meant that most of the time I would fall asleep on the roof during the second movie and wake up unceremoniously by rolling off the roof of our beloved land yacht and landing on the hard ground. Either way those memories made a huge impression on me.

I'm a big fan of all sorts of Arms and Armor. I'm also member of the SCA a medieval re-enactment group called(Society of Creative Anachronism)

Here's me in my harness:

300x300 (3).jpg300x300 (5).jpg

Some of projects I want to do are :

some Steampunk stuff
Ironman MK1
Halo Jorge
Mass Effect Cerberus Centurion
Jumanji Van Pelts' Vintage rifle
some weapons from skyrim
Etc., Etc., Etc.

As you can see there's just a tons of stuff that I want to do.

I am continually inspired and awed at the beautiful props and items that this Forum's extraordinary artist and craftsmen have made. I can only hope to be one day, like those people who have inspired me, by inspire others to make great things.

Currently live in the Southern Maine and am looking forwards to meeting some of you in the future.

Til then, break things, make things, and have fun.

Ray

Hello Hello,
I am Renaissance Jedi. I know my name on therpf is Renaissance Jed, but that it a mistake. I clearly forgot to put the i in. Anyways, I build props from Star Wars and Doctor Who currently, and I plan to branch out to Star Trek. I have built my own custom lightsaber and plan to build many more to sell. I have just completed my first actual replica which is of the Fourth Doctor's (Tom Baker) sonic screwdriver.

Hello all.
I've been lurking on here a while now and thought I would say hi :)
I found this amazing community of awe inspiring talent via thedentedhelmet.
Star Wars is my main love, but I am also a big geek for other franchises and mediums! :-D
I am currently finishing up my first helmet - a Phase II Clone Trooper bucket. I have taken WAY too long to reach this stage with it.
But, life can get in the way can't it..?
Anyway, I keep coming back here as it helps me get off my butt and get working on something.
In the planning stages - a Cyberman helmet and a scratch built scale model TARDIS. Wonder how long they will take me?
Oh, and I want to start on a lightsaber at some point.
Anyway, thanks for reading this and being such a wonderful forum!

Hi everybody i am big fan of fiction movies Star Wars Alien etc...but i found this forum after research about blade runner blaster...i want to try to build a blaster from the movie

Hey everyone, since the beginning of my time (1992), my dear two older brothers introduced star wars to me and other cool sci-fi movies. And I'm really glad that they did lol. I've been making 'props' or just pieces of junk - compared to everything that's in this forum, lol.

I'm also a 501st legion, which is also cool

Hello everyone!
My name is Jeff, and I'm from Minnesota.
I fell in love with this site a few months ago, and have been lurking around the boards soaking up everything I can get my eyeballs on!
My interests include scale models, Transformers, Transformer customs, and Star Wars.
Here are some of my projects:

My "daily driver" lightsaber:

A custom "no paint" Cyborg Savage Opress:

A garage sale A-Wing re-paint:

My ever growing G1 Transformers collection:

This is such a great website...it's like one stop shopping for my whole life outside of work and family.

Hallo everyone!! My name is Justin, I'm from Buffalo, New York originally, but have been living in Nebraska for the past 16 years. I make amateur films with family and friends and often browse through the forums looking for ideas and to see the amazing work that's been done. I first stumbled across the sites years ago, either looking up Spider-Man suits or Sonic Screwdrivers.... I can't remember. Either way, I finally created an account last summer and will hopefully be posting some completed projects on the forums as well as some current adventures in prop, costume and set fabrication.

I look forward to hanging out here in future!

In the meantime, here's a tease of one of my current projects...
