First posts always make me nervous.

Hi, I'm Crash. I've been lurking for a while now and thought I'd introduce myself. So... Hi, I'm Crash.

Though I've been attending cons for a few years, I first dressed up last October. I went as Mystique and absolutely loved it. I've been thinking of ways to improve the costume, and I'm looking forward to trying it out again.

I'm also tempted to be Spider Bitch, but that's still just an idea.

For the time being I guess I'll mostly read. So far I've loved the posts I've seen, it's a great site.

Hope to stay in these forums for a long time!

Hi guys!
My name is Sebastein, from Pittsburgh PA. I am a prop maker and costume maker. I am about to graduate from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh's Entertainment Design program in March. I have been making props for a little over a year now and have gotten largely into cosplay. I hope I can show off some good props, costumes and tutorials as much as I can.

Hello everyone!
I'm Walter, I've been a longtime member of the BOTB and lurked around the RPF for a while. Finally decided to join up and post a bit.
I have a hybrid Begins/Forever Batsuit that is my main cosplay; as well as my 1994 The Shadow costume. I alternate between these at conventions to take the strain off my back from wearing the cape and cowl for 8 hours. ;)

Hello all!

Like many before me I have used this site for advice and inspiration on projects. I just recently had enough work(I felt) in order to register and start being part of this community!

I am making Classic Iron Man suit modeled by EyeofSauron, I hope, in time for Denver ComiCon 2014. Thread here http://www.therpf.com/f24/eyeofsaurons-pep-files-iron-man-non-movie-armors-power-rangers-lich-king-etc-151288/

I hope my work represents this site well and I can't wait to work with you all!

Hey man love your suit it looks great! but just a heads up, threads about builds should be kept to their own threads. Its fine to post pics and stuff on other peoples threads to show off some work and get some interest but not for constant updates. But that aside welcome to the forums and I look forward to seeing more of your stuff!

Hello from Kansas City MO!

Just signed up the other day and I'm already amazed at what is on this forum, and really wish I would have found it sooner. I don't have collection to speak of yet, but I am working on building a X-wing model (MPC kit that was used in ESB and Jedi). I came across the forum trying to find good reference photos after I found a small cache of them via google, and finding many things about the MPC that are lacking. Unfortunately some info is coming in too late because of the progress I've already made, but there is still time and hope to add more detail to this kit. Actually this is the first model I've built in 20 years, so I'm learning quite a bit as a go. There are several things that I have fabricated on the model to replace parts or add detail where there is none. I'm not going to be too upset if this kit doesn't come out perfect, I figure it's just a stepping stone to bigger and better things.

Hi,
I used to make tread sections for B9 Builders some dozen years ago. I do welding and machining mostly in plastics and aluminum. I am for the most part in the planning stage of B9 and R2, with some parts gathered over the years. My kids are grown. Time for me to pursue what I reluctantly had set aside. I just finished making several sets of Reactor Cores for DeLorean Time Machine conversion here in Oviedo, Florida. So I do lathe work and milling. I am working on mold making and electronics as I have dabbled in this in the past. I love to meet other enthusiasts and offer my help if I can. In the past I worked on an animatronic man sold to the Navy and built launch equipment for 6 yrs at Kennedy Space Center.

Hi, I'm new. I have 100 % NO prop or costume making experience, but I DO have a lot of ideas. Hopefully my lurking around here will help me figure out better ways to make my ideas a possibility.

Greetings from Tucson!

Im female, 27, with viking blood running through my veins

I've always wanted to make props and costumes for movies when I was younger. So I got a BA in Media Arts, learned nothing. Some how I became a graphic artist for a local News Station. When I am not creating maps of dead bodies, mug shots, and OTS graphics, I am creating bits of awesome.

I have experience in welding, lathe, machining mill, chain mail, coin cutting, and leather work. I have been called a Metal media genius.

I once built a light sabre hilt on a lathe out of aluminum. IT LOOKS LEGIT! I just need to learn electronics.
Last year I built Vegeta's armor out of Poptabs. (Everyone wants to touch it, at Comic Conventions) After building that, I had an itch for even bigger.
Since June of 2013 I have been working on a full body IRON MAN SUIT out of poptabs. Its becoming big, it even has its own twitter and FB account. www.facebook.com/ThePoptabIronMan

I love a good challenge. I am interested in going back to school. I want to learn everything that I don't know about; Pepakura, mold making, electronics, animatronics, and anything exciting/messy that I have not mentioned!

If anyone knows of a good school or job out there CONTACT ME!

Picard1138 here, long time member of Dewback Wing ASAP, but haven't posted in a number of years. I went over there to see how things were going and it seemed like a ghost town. I still make props on occasion, now focusing more on historic military equipment and uniforms, but my interest in Star Trek props and sets is still very much alive.

Hi, my name is Tura and I've been doing small scale props and sculptures for years - but now I'm interested in moving on to larger scale pieces and am hoping
to get help and advice as well as making new friends and learning new techniques.

Hello my name is Sean and I found this site while browsing for help using pepakura to make Iron Man helmets and suits. I am about to take a second try at making a War Machine helmet and thought before I carry on I should sign up and learn as much as I can before I go for round two. I do plan on making the rest of the suit someday, but for now I'm taking baby steps and building casually. I am from Oregon where it rains a lot so I think this is a good hobby for someone like me. I love to draw, play video game, shoot guns and I have always been into super heroes. Hope to meet some new friends on here, so feel free to message me and I will try and message back whenever I can. Happy building y'all.

Heyo!

I'm ItsTheRocketeer (I know, ANOTHER Finhead fan). I've been a lurker for a few years now and now I really want to take this hobby a lot more seriously.

I've been cosplaying for 2 years now and made my first prop, a "lead" pipe, all on my own. It's not much but it was a lot of fun. After that I graduated to making a mask based on the Clicker enemy from The Last of Us.

I'm insanely jealous of all of your talent and hope to learn from you guys!
