Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi there.

My name Is Marcus, 39 years young and hailing from a small town south of Eindhoven in the Netherlands. I've been wandering these forums for a while now, gathering as much information as I could on building a Ironman suit for myself. Ever since I've seen the first Ironman movie I wanted to built one for myself, but due to the lack of money and skills I soon abandoned the idea, until recently a friend of mine stumbled upon a instruction video of how to build an Ironman suit. when he told me he had decided to built one he rekindled my intrests in building one for myself, which brought me here. I've spend many hours here gasping at the many awesome suits built by others, giving me the passion and the believe I could actually pull this off myself. though left with many questions I hope that through this forum I'll be able to get to that moment when I'm able to suit up in my very own Ironman suit.

Greetz,
Marcus.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey all, recently joined but I've been lurking for about a month or so. I've always been a huge movie, comic and video game fan and recently decided that I wanted to start making some props mainly for decoration around my house.

I have quite a few movie posters, a few homemade costumes from old jumpsuits and coveralls(Jason Vorhees, Bloody Valentine) but I really want to expand on that while finding something to occupy my time aside from playing video games haha.

So standby for stupid questions as I muddle through more build threads on here that make me feel inadequate(jokeing!) as you guys all are on a much higher skillset than I am!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey, names Brandon, and I'm very excited to have found and joined this forum, I've seen some amazing works on here, and am hopeful about finding my nerd trinkets I've been searching for.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey all, I'm mostly a lurker but hopefully I find something that I'll want to make but am able to. I have a SCI at C4/C5 if you know what that is it. While its not a complete injury my right hand doesn't really work but hey, I'm still getting better.

Hey!
I'm Bladebrawl, artist in training!
I'm from North Virginia, trying to move to California.
I work in digital still art and animation, pencil and pen, and just about anything I deem art.
I'm currently working on an animated web series, and possibly some live action skits.
The prop I'm making now is a Darth Revan mask, which you can see my progress here- http://www.therpf.com/f24/darth-revan-mask-my-first-prop-168681/

Glad to be here, and any opinions and help on props I'd like to hear. See you around the site!

Howdy y'all. Name's Alex.

I've been lurking for a while but figured I'd join up. I've been reading the Walking Dead thread about the sherif outfit. I'm really excited about trying to get things rolling.

Also, pretty big in to Halo, so I'll probably be doing a few things with that as well. It'll take me a while because I'll be working on a super tight budget. Glad I finally joined up.

Hey everyone, my name is Gabriel. I found this site about an hour ago and went ahead and created an account. So glad I found it.

I have been doing Cosplay for a few years now, slowly pieced together a joker outfit. A cross between Cesar Romero and Jack Nicholson. My outfit is nowhere near the caliber of what I have seen so far on this site.

I recently moved to Georgia from Texas to attended chiropractic school and totally look forward to attending the DragonCon.

Hello Ladies and Gents...

My Name is Rohan, and since stumbling on this site, I am suddenly a replica enthusiast...I have an engineering background, but no clue about art and some of tecniques etc that some of the folk on here are magically using...so I hope I can learn a few things with the hope of making - and if im good enough, selling some props etc.

I am a comic book /sci fi geek, and literally drool at some of the posts here...in a good way...not a creepy way ;)

Good to meet you all...

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi Folks!
My name is Christian and I'm from Germany.
I registered on RPF a few days ago but have been knowing it for almost 2 years. The purposes for my registration are getting inspiration for my next costumes, learning how to deal with different kinds of prop materials and buying costume parts and props in the junkyard ;-) I've been a cosplayer for 6 years and my elaborately manufactured costumes are Jack Sparrow, the TDK Joker and a Ghostbuster (Peter Venkman). But for my upcoming builds I need some practical know-how, so getting member of this forum was essential.
My ideas of future costumes include Dredd 3D, Predator, Ironman and perhaps TDK.
So long,
Chris

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone I'm [username] Praetor1, I've been a big fan of sci fi movie memorabilia since the airing of "that's hollywood", Then "Movie Magic" and I always thought of reproducing the props used in a whole slew of movies (now videos games, also) but, at the time, I never had the means: the research, finance and creative "spirit", so to speak. But since running into this site a few weeks ago and joining, and having machinist training under my belt, I would love to take on some projects, now. I would definitely appreciate some experiences, guidance, and resources to prop making and repro's. I just don't know where to start.

Also my enthusiasm is more towards the Sci Fi robots and weapons (mostly pistols, handguns, etc.) also can anyone show me how to fold pepakura, I've been trying to do a few with regular copy paper and it doesn't seem to be working out. I just found a Babylon 5 Pep PPG Pistol to make and possibly machine into aluminum.

I'm currently working on a capsule pistol a friend of mine is commssioning me to do, I'd like to up load pics, just don't know how.

Any way, I'm glad to be a part of the forum Adam Savage repeatedly praises.

Hi everybody,
I have been costuming for a few years now (since about 2004) and am always learning new skills and techniques with each project I attempt. I've done -
Vash the Stampede Coat and Glasses
Mr. Satan and Piccolo from DBZ,
Mario
Classic Disney Mad Hatter
and even a full Jedi costume and lightsaber (more specifically - Old Obi Wan Kenobi)
None of the costumes have been screen accurate, but they are pretty darn close. With the help of the RPF i hope to improve my process and make the most accurate props and costumes yet.

I have plans to make-
Vash's gun with cold casting techniques
Stormtrooper with polystyrene and vacuum forming machine
Eva 02 from Neon Genesis Evangelion

I also dabble with building arcades, motorcycles and various arts and crafts.

Hello all ,
Been a lurker for a while now and decided to finally post , anyways because of this site I've gotten interested in costuming specifically iron man and batman
There's so much talent on the boards and it never ceases to amaze and impress :) and has inspired me to start my very own project as well . Lately foam iron man builds have been intriguing to me as it takes some patience to get an incredible looking suit in some cases some people have managed to make foam suits as good as the fiberglass ! Anyways thanks for reading and see you all around!

Hello, fellow prop fanatics!!! I've been lurking around here for a while and decided to join today! It's good to be around like minded people who understand my addiction, unlike my wife. :lol
I am a Star Wars freak and am building a decent helmet collection. Starting to branch off into lightsabers now as well. Anyways, I'm happy to be here!!!:lol

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi there!!! I'm new here. I'm from south Brazil, and newbie at cosplaying. Once I've started, I couldnt' stop anymore; the process of making a costume is very funny and stress-relieving. Started with a TDK cardboard armor, and now making one from EVA foam. Hope make an Iron Man armor someday!!!

Best regards for everyone!!!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Just wanted to say hi. New to RPF, been lurking for a while but never joined up. I am active in the 501st since Star Wars is my main focus for props and collectables. I am currently working on a couple Stargate pieces, and would like to eventually do some Ironman and Batman stuff. Great site here, and there are some amazing artists!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi There,

been lurking around for some time, and think it's about time to do a proper introduction.

Name is Allan age 42, live in city called Borup in Denmark with the missus and to boys age 8 and 11.

Been nerding around different stuff the last couple of years, first viking and medieval reenactment. But have always been a big fan of sci-fi and fantasy.

In the end of 2011 I watched a documentary on the 501st and it hit me!! Why don't you do that?? why not try making costumes and join in the fun, well started researching and buying stuff, and have 3 approved costumes in the 501 now :cool Snowtrooper, ANH Tie Pilot and a Tie reserve pilot, also made 2 jawa costumes for the boys.

next costume in planning will be a Endor Commando from ROTJ, and perhaps then a umbrella coorp trooper from Resident Evil..
