hello. I'm Dan. I'm 26 in Illinois, and looking to start making cool realistic costumes. PM me if you want to have a southern Illinois build day.

First costume on the docket will be a foam Iron Man styled after the Avengers movie version (Mark VII).

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone!

I've been lurking on this forum for about a year now and enjoying all the awesome prop builds. Especially the production and paint/weathering of (game and movie) weapons.

Since drawing is on top of my (short) skill list, I focus on drawing weapons and sometimes vehicles. Used to do a few steampunk drawings as well, but now mostly sci-fi.

I've attached a drawing of a steampunk weapon I made some time ago, but I have a current thread (my first) on the RPF that has a Mass Effect 3 weapons, the M-3 Predator. Please let me know what you think.

Also, I would like to put it out there, that if someone lacks the skills to draw some sort of a blueprint to accompany their prop-build, I would like to offer my services.

As long as this is something that is close to my own interests and I enjoy doing (and you supply a pic of it actually hanging on your wall) I would do this for free. Here to help. :)

Hi. I’m Jim and I like to build stuff.

I first heard about this forum from Adam Savage on one of his video blogs and decided I had to check this place out. I’m glad I did; the things I am seeing here are phenomenal and I’m pretty sure any question I can come up with about building someone here will have the answer.

One of the things I’d like to do is make a display case with various items like a Star Trek TOS Type II Phaser, a lightsaber, sonic screwdriver, an arc reactor, etc. I’m also interested in doing some full costumes; Ghostbusters uniform with full proton pack, Star Trek Nemesis uniform, Fallout New Vegas ranger armor are ones I can think of off the top of my head. Not to mention building props and costumes from the “movies in my head”. I have an entire sci-fi universe in my head as well as a fantasy universe and I’d love to start building some of the original stuff I’ve come up with.

The first thing I’m going to try is something not very ambitions. This weekend I’m going to see if I can make a Tardis key based on the one used by John Pertwee’s Doctor. I’m planning on sculpting it from clay, making a silicon mold and casting it in cold-cast aluminum.

I'm not sure what the next one will be, maybe a lightsaber.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone. I have been doing Indiana Jones costuming for well over a decade at this point (playing over at Indygear.com). My prop/costume interest lies with the pulp-era characters. They can be characters that originated in that time, or "live" in that era. They include: Indiana Jones, Zorro, The Lone Ranger, The Phantom, and The Rocketeer. I have bits and pieces of all of these costumes running, but the Indy costume is the only one that is complete.

The project that is probably the one that is driving me the most right now is The Lone Ranger. I want to assemble a full on Clayton Moore version.

Hello.

I'm Wayne from Burnley in the UK.

Fairly new to costuming myself, got a Snowtrooper together, did a troop with some friends and became hooked.

Now, I've been cleared by the UK garrison of the 501st and looking forward to my next build.
To keep me busy in the meantime, I've started getting together an Alex Delarge from A Clockwork Orange and am hoping to get it as accurate as possible.

A bit about me.. massive Doctor Who fan (more old than new), general sci-fi fan, Love horror, love music, am good at tiddlywinks.

Looking forward to finding my way around here and hopefully getting to know a few folks. :thumbsup

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello rpf! To start off let me just say Im amazed by the amount of both time and dedication put into many of the projects Ive looked at thus far. You all get a pat on the back from me.

Now as for myself, i personally haven't made any replications of anything what so ever. I am completely new to all of this. But i am more then intrigued by what Ive come across. I have only been a guest at this site for a day an decided to make a profile. I figured i needed to be apart of this awesome community because i want to do several builds. Ie iron man mk iii , fallout brotherhood of steel, and warhammer ones.

Thank you all for a very warm welcome.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I'm not sure if I ever got around to introducing myself.
I'm here via the recommendations of SEVERAL friends in the costuming world.
My husband and I have focused mostly on Renaissance as well as the Golden Age of Piracy/18th century British Navy costuming.
We finally got not so reluctantly dragged into Marvel/The Avengers.
I am currently working on putting together a Black Widow Costume while he works on Hawkeye.
Thank you Chris F. for getting me on here!(Here's to hoping that I can find you!)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I haven't posted here yet, so thought I'd introduce myself. I'm just looking for ways to build an amazing spiderman costume. I've been lucky enough to talk with all of the right people to get started so far. Big thanks to tjack and damngoodpaul for making awesome things to buy!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Haha, I'm a jerk and totally started posting on this forum before ever introducing myself, I was over excited.
Hello, I'm Bella a costumer, and I have been for 4 years. I only recently matured to the point of movie costuming, so I decided to join this forum! :) So many interesting and amazing people do such good work on here, and most of them have been doing this hobby much longer! So, I hope to learn a lot!

A while back I saw that 2 of my favorite costume maker heroes (xtremedesignfx & ud replicas) posted here. So I've lurked for awhile but decided to join recently.

Hail! I am new to the whole cosplay scene and found this website by doing a little digging. From what little I have seen, you guys rock!

I am planning to do a Red Hood costume, hoping to have it ready for A-kon 24. I will probably lurk around, gathering what tips I can.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi Everyone. I'm Adam, I found out about this forum after attending Fan Expo in Toronto, I wished I had a cool costume so I decided to make my own deadpool costume. I stumbled in here while looking for others working on similar projects. I figured it couldn't hurt to get some feedback on my progress. I'm glad to be a member!

Hello Colleen.
Your best bet is to go to the Blizzard Force Forum (The 501st Detachment for Snowies), join up, introduce yourself and state your intentions.
They are a very friendly and helpful bunch and certainly helped me out when I got started on my Snowie (The results of which are a few posts up.)

I was recently cleared, so it's well worth it.
Of course, I'll try and help you too - just say the word.:thumbsup
