Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey!

I'm a 22 year old male from Norway, and I found this forum via Tapatalk :p
The stuff some of you guys make is just amazing! I can sit for long periods of time just browsing through and looking.

My interests is paintball, RC and IT.
I don't have many replicas, but I do have a few lightsabers, a Freddy glove (not really replica, but I love it) and some other misc stuff.
I'm in the middle of upgrading my Freddy Krueger costume to a more accurate one (from part 2). My current costume is just put together to look like a generic Freddy.

Cheers!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone.

Im a complete newbie to this site. I stumbled upon it whilst researching Harry Potter items for my daughter.

Id just like to say that all the Harry Potter props and replicas ive seen on this website are amazing.

Ive purchased my daughter some items from Noble Collection and purchased some items when we visited the Wizarding World Of Harry Potter, but the things ive seen on here ive never seen before. My daughter would absolutely love them all.

Can people tell me where i can purchase some of the items ive seen as id love to be able to get my daughter some things she hasnt already seen/got.

Any help or comments would be appreciated. Thanks in advance :)

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings All,

I am an amateur costumer and prop builder, passion for which I blame mostly on "Mr Dressup". My first ventures into costuming began with emulating my favourite TV show personages like 'Jimmy' from "H.R. Puff 'n' Stuff" complete with 'Flute' and 'Danny' from "The Partridge Family". I began making my own wooden rifle props using scraps in my father's garage at age 8. I used to love Westerns and War movies starring Clint Eastwood or John Wayne especially. I created my first costume when I was much older which was a Star Trek Original Series Klingon Officer's Uniform for my position with the Klingon Assault Group (KAG) Kanada fan club. I am currently working on reprising that costume complete with Original Series Disruptor and Agonizer created from paper models downloaded from the internet. My wife, who is the real sewing genius and clothing designer will be guiding me through the reconstruction of the clothing portions of the costume.
In past years I had begun costume props and armour of my own design for a Sisters of Battle Sister Superior costume and both Space Marine and Dark Eldar costumes for myself.
Last year, my wife and I attended Anime North as Kakashi and Hinata (we have photos... somewhere).
We also made our own fantasy medieval costumes to wear to Medieval Times where we announced our engagement formally to our friends and family. Getting drinks was difficult because staff believed we worked there. :p
I have an obsession with paper modelling which led me here while searching for Pepakura files and such of Space Marine armour. I am a fanatical Games Workshop games player and even worked for the company in retail for a couple of years.
I hope to become a very active member and learn from the more experienced people here, perhaps make some friends and share my triumphs and designs with all of you as well.
My interests vary widely those mentioned above only being a small sampling. Battlestar Galactica (new and old), Star Trek, Star Wars, various anime and manga, Pirates (particularly pirates!), Samurai, Ninja, Ancient Rome and Greece, both World Wars, Steampunk and the list goes on.
I do have photos of the Warhammer 40K props for the Sisters of Battle and Space Marine props I have begun as well as having my original Klingon costume boxed up around somewhere. If any are interested in having me post these let me know.
For now I look forward to getting to know everyone and learning and growing as a costumer, prop maker and modeller.

Baz aka "Brother Experimentus"

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Been lurking for a while, reading a lot of the Back to the Future replica wardrobe posts. Thought I would join in case I have anything to add to the discussion.

I'm also working on making a Back to the Future III Marty McFly 50's cowboy costume for Halloween, so I thought this would be a good place to consult.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey Everyone,

I stumbled upon this place and I'm glad I did. I have always loved movies and behind the scenes/making of/special effects (the physical stuff not so much CGI). I love to create things and have messed around with small projects in the past. I will just enjoy looking at all the great projects on here and may reach out for some advice from time to time.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

So I've had an account here for a month or so, but I haven't yet introduced myself, so here goes: Hey guys! I accidentally found this forum, while I was researching the ASM suit. I've always been a huge movie buff and such, so here I am :) I will be starting a Spidey build thread very soon!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings, my name is Neil and I live in the south of England where I am a church minister. For 45 years I have modelled in small scale (mainly British Empire and Napoleonic figures in 54mm) but I have always had a love of fantasy and science fiction stories and movies. Over the past couple of years I have started to model in card and wood and then came across "Volpin's" website and "The RPF" and everything has kicked off since then. I've built costumes so far, including an outfit based on the character of "Elric", I'll post a picture of this when I've edited out an embarrassed daughter.
My first project is to convert a water soaker into something like an Elder weapon. Can anyone recommend the best glue for work on commercial plastics such as are used in water soakers. Cheers.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everybody! I just saw this forum and was guided here after seeing Adam Savage's really neat work on the Bourne props. I really hope to make some neat stuff of my own and I think I'd like to really get into this hobby a bit more. I made a simple Ghostbuster's outfit before and it's been getting a bit old thought people seem to like it. I have some simple ideas from video games to start out with and then I might get into some more detailed stuff. I hope that my first build will be something "easy", basically the STAAR uniform from Area 51 and then maybe move into something more difficult like Smoochy (Death to Smoochy) or Rainbow Randolph or even someone from the Mystery Men.

Cheers!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello and thank you. Found this site while trying to figure out a pattern to make an Ezio Auditore costume for my grandson.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Been a lurker here for years as a few of my other hobbies seem to cross paths with the forum on occasion so I figured I would finally sign up.

Currently working on assembling a set of Stormtrooper armor to join the 501st, building some resin blaster replicas to take up space on the shelf and seriously thinking about building a Lightsaber for grins.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I have been a member of the 405th for a few years. I found this site a while ago but never got a chance to register, and now I have! I am very excited to be apart of this community and cant wait to help out anyway I can.

I like building props from scratch. A few years ago I started making props from foam poster board (which is pretty cool considering you're supposed to use it for presentations.) I'm slowly leveling up from foam board to Smooth-On stuff, so that's pretty awesome to me. :D

-Favorite props are Doctor Who, Halo, Star Wars, Star Trek, and various MARVEL costumes. Who am I kidding, I love it all!!!

Here are a few of my props. -If I can get them to show... Sorry they are big, I couldnt get them to size down to save my life...

^Plexiglass Halo Reach Magnum. Free formed scratch build using the "sliced" method. Trigger can be pulled, slide can be ******.

The Avengers Premier. Made those costumes as well (I'm Spider-Man). It was too hot for the rest of Iron Man to wear his suit :(

Thanks!!! :)

I'm not exactly newbie (had my account already for two years) but I have just returned to the forums.

I'm a Star Wars collector, sci fi lover (Battlestar, Stargate, etc.) and I hope to learn a lot of you guys. I am trying to decide to make my first Star Wars costume and will need a lot of help :D

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi guys, stumbled across this site while researching my next project. Thought I'd join so I could share it with everyone. What a great resource this place is!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

hello i'm Allen,
the real reason i registered on this website is a long story but i shall be brief.

my son is a marvel superhero, R2-D2, power rangers fan, and he came to me and asked about making him a fancy dress costume. he chose the white ranger !!

finding out how to make the helmet was awesome to me at the time. so i found more pep files on other helmets now i'm making more.

so far to date i have the following helmets in pep form.

2x halo master chief mk IV
stormtrooper
crysis
white ranger (completed)
just started on ironman.

but while making these helmets some members of my family said i was "SAD" making them and need to get out more. but on this website i don't get that all you guys are like me... enjoy making props, suit replicas.. helmets etc.
talking on here about pepakura you know what i'm talking about but out here in the real world when i mention pepakura, i get the response as if i'm and alien from another planet !
