Hello all, My names Kevin, From Cincinnati, Ohio. I've lurked here quite a bit, but with some upcomming costumes I have planned I figured I needed to join since I'll probably need some advice from to time...gonna be tackling a Garrus from Mass Effect 2 once the summer come to a close, and hammering out a Femshep for my GF.
Currently I do a Stormtrooper and Mandolorian, Resident Evil 1 and 5 Chris redfield, Darth Nihilus, and a splicer from Bioshock.
On my plate as of now is a gender bend Harley Quinn and some additions to my mando before Celebration 6.

I just stumbled upon pepakura and Eva foam cosplay etc. a few days ago. Stealth's YouTube tutorial on ironman really caught my eye and I wanted to try so here I am. I figured I should join now so that I don't start off terribly when I make my first suits.

Hi folks,
I'm Cullen and I started by building plastic models as a youth. In recent years a buddy of mine convinced me we should do some Star Trek costuming. I insisted I would only be interested in the early movie Uniforms and sure enough he found a place to custom order them. I ordered some Assault Phaser prop kits along with resin uniform markings. before you knew it I was picking up kits where ever I could find them, ordering them online, etc. I'm big into different SciFi props but Trek is my biggest interest. One day I hope to have a wall covered with every star trek phaser and weapon on it.

My experience is in metalworking or all types (and some wood) but I want to round out my skill set so I can make anything. Here is a picture of an animatronic skeleton I built years ago...

well that was 10 years ago and im in the process of getting back into civvy life,
enyway i went allong to an audition with my wife (she was trying out for a small role in a zombie flick) and got chatting to the director who asked what i did for a living and when i mentioned i had weapons instructor experiance he offered me some work on the film training the actors and also asked if i could sort him some stunt weapons (how i found this site)
enyway thats it off to read up whats going on with the Mattmobile that thread is class

This year I am attempting to build a iron man costume but I thought I would get a head start by buying the helmet because I could do with having it built for Christmas but after reeding some of the threads on hear I feel I may have fallen pray to a recaster of E-bay:facepalm

Found this site while I was doing some online research.... is cool to find such a large and talented community like this together in one place.
Have been designing and building props, costume, fx and set pieces for the entertainment industry as a career for many years and recently semi retired.
So refreshing to see the passion for it again in all of you.

Well, I have just registered, but I have browsed the forum a bit beforehand. Since about a year I have been going to fantasy festivals in The Netherlands, and wanted a cooler costume then I used up until now.
Thats why I started on a Iron Man Mark VI build, made by cardstock paper. I do have some questions though, and thats why I thought about joining the forum.

Hi everyone!
Sooooo..... I am totally diving off the deep end here. First major costume project, first time casting ANYTHING, and I've picked a doozy of a project. I'm creating a full-blown Loki costume, helmet, cape, body armor, the works. I've started sculpting the shape of the body armor bits this eve, and will be spending a small fortune on silicone and casting compounds first thing tomorrow morning. I am certain I will make a ton of mistakes, ask a ton of stupid questions, and have a fantastic time along the way. Any and all advice is completely appreciated, very happy to be here!

Well, I don't think I got a post in this thread. So, I though I'd finally drop at least a 'Hi' since I keep seeing the "AS A NEW MEMBER" blaring me in the face all the time. The site spoofing put me off to even stoping by for quite some time.
I generally don't like to list things I've done but it seems like a little intro is in order. :behave
I've been a more of a Predator specific type but my capabilities are a little more broad. Anyway, my sig has a pic of my Allspark computer case I built. I've participated in last years Dr Grordbort's Custom Raygun Competition also. My intention is to be more active in this community. Let's see what I can build. :love
