Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **
Hi guys. My name is Phil and I found and joined this site when I was researching a Randy Cooper Star Destroyer that was for sale on ebay, turned out that it was built by a member here (Gunpowder) and what a fine job he has made of it. My profession is as a nurse in cardiology but I have also painted from an early age and own an art gallery in Warwick, England. (sounds grander than it is).
I am a lover of original props, mostly ships, but you usually need to have larger bank accounts than mine to get hold of them. My collection includes a 6" Rodger Young and mid scale TAC fighter, and a Return of the King academy consideration folder, all from Screen Used, 2 alien eggs from the Queen's chamber miniature (provenance uncomfirmed, though they match up exactly to one on The Prop Store's site), and a roman shield from the 1957 production of Cleopatra. I also have a short strip of film which is claimed to be one half of the overlaid double explosion of the last Tie Fighter destroyed by Han Solo when escaping The Death Star which is purported to have come from the cutting room floor. I would love to know if anyone can advise me of how to confirm either of these.
A passion that I am now revisiting as a result of that brilliant Star Destroyer of Gunpowder's is modeling, mostly sci fi, and mostly starships. I have recently completed the Moebius Seaview and trashed a Revell Enterprise kit to produce a remastered version battle damaged Constellation, which I hope to post pics of for comment. I have several kits on the to do list but have been lucky enough to acquire a David Sisson Millenium Falcon which he only partially completed. I think I shall wait until my skills are a little more honed before I start that one.
Anyway, what a smashing site, brimful of talented folk. It's great to be here, chat soon.
Phil.
