re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all, I joined up a while ago but only recently felt the urge to start posting :).

I'm new to the whole replica prop/costume game, so this should be a fun adventure!

As for what I'm into/looking to obtain/build my First Love is James Cameron's Aliens. My holy grail Item would a screen accurate Pulse Rifle, which should be a fun puzzle to put together while jumping through the many hoops the Australian Customs people put in front of me.

Very Nice to be here!

Hello every one !
I discovered this site through the BOTB, trying to expand my superheroes props and I think I just find the perfect place !
Already have a few Arkham Asylum prop in my possession, a MK VI Iron Man helmet, a cheap but good looking Mjolnir, a cap shield coming soon that will need some work as well as a TFA cowl, and hopefully one day a UD cap' costume if I manage to sell a kidney... Also had a Superman Return suit fully screen accurate, but I had to sell it since I'm going in the Marvel road for now, thanks to the Marvel' studios and their excellent movies so far.
In the mean time, I wouldn't say no to a foam MK6 Iron Man suit, there are some very good ideas to start with in here !

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello Everyone! I am a long time lurker here. I don't usually reply.
I am a member over at The Dented Helmet, and a few 501st detachment forums. I am Captain of the Guard of the 501st Japanese Garrison as well.
I've had various costumes over the past few years, but the one I'm most proud of is my Empire Strikes Back Boba Fett.
I also have an 11th Doctor Costume that I have been working hard to get the closest parts to screen used.
Currently I am working on a Sith Acolyte from the Star Wars Old Republic game.
Looking forward to sharing my work, and reading about others as well!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello,

My name is Billy from Virginia. I found this site while looking for some Back to the Future replicas and DIY replicas for the movie.

I am a graphic designer, musician and dabbling in film/video - so I'm willing to help solve some redesign problems. I don't have a collection of my own so there isn't much I can contribute on that front at this point in time.

My friends and I created a Sweded Back to the Future movie which I'm sure the die-hards will not like unless they are also big Michel Gondry fans (Be Kind, Rewind).

I have to say that I'm impressed with the level of detail and skill on this forum for reproductions.

Hey everyone!

I am a total fangirl who lives in Texas, and I love to make costumes! I've got a fair bit of background in the field for someone who is not even old enough to drink. I've made lots of costumes, including: Batgirl, Weeping Angel, Black Swan, and others too! I like making new friends, so feel free to drop me a line :)

Names Chris. Not sure how I stumbled onto the rpf, but I think it was from drooling over jackets at Logan's closet. I started collecting props a while ago, but my collection is still quite small in my eyes. I'm going to have to take pictures as soon as I get more of my props set up (been in our new house for only a year and 1/2 and if you've ever moved you know it takes years to unpack and get everything the way you want it)

Hello All!

I'm Ben, a middle school teacher, from California. I've always wanted to work on various prop projects, and with finally buying a condo and not working this summer, teaching is awesome for that, I'll actually have time to work on something!

Look forward to posting something and getting feedback!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings all!

My name is Steven and I am from Alabama. I ran across this site while searching for Iron Man replica items. I discovered the pepakura files through other sites and then found Stealth's "Hero Tutorials" on youtube. After watching his videos and looking at the foam suit, I HAD to try to make a foam Mark IV suit. I will likely show you all my progress soon.

This site is amazing! I've already found a few items in the Junkyard...now I'm wearing out my printer in the BTTF Paper props section!

....back to it! :)

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone!

I really like what this site brings and the fact that there's a community around it. A little bit about myself:

I created a video called Epic Anime Time last year, and since then I've been more involved in the local cosplay/replica community. You can watch that video here: Epic Anime Time - YouTube

It all started off as a passion to put anime characters into live-action. And now 1 year later, I'm working in the Film industry in Action design/Pre-visual FX. As well being an online content producer (youtube partner) as my job too.

To be honest, I don't have time to build my own costumes. However, with certain projects underway, I am in need of professional costume makers in the near future. There is so much talent on here, I hope that I can offer opportunities for people to get their work displayed and get paid for it. The passion I see here is utterly impressive. I really would love to get involved in that aspect here in this community. I look forward to getting to know you all!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings everyone !!

Jonas from Finland here. Been reading these forums for a while now & got inspired by the amazing talent here so I started my own project & decided also to make an account here.

As my first ever build like this I'm doing an Ironman costume build with Pepakura & using the longer fiberglass & paint method. I have never done any fiberglass work before, so will see what comes out of it :D My goal is to have the suit ready for the Ironman 3 movie release.

My Ironman build will not be a replica build as I don't want to just copy something. I'm making my own version of the suit, combining things from different versions of the suits & adding some unique things on the way & making a lot of moving parts.

I'm using many different Ironman pepakura files that I have found around the web so thank you all who have ever made one & shared it.

Will keep you all updated on the progress I'm making & will share all the new ideas for the suit & its hinge mechanic's so that if someone want to use them in their suits.

I'm re-designing the helmet hinge's to make the helmet work on a whole new way :D
& also making a lot of new weapon systems that will be moving like most Ironman's weapons do ( coming out of hide mode & going back )

Special thanks to Stealth / TheHeroTutorials you really got me inspired to try this build & keep the vid's coming they are very very helpful.

Hey all! I'm an independent filmmaker with an eye for detail, which as brought me here. Really impressed with what I've seen so far! Great stuff!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

hey every body! I'm 15, I stumbled across this forum when I was looking or my second ever prop to build(it turned out to be a thor hammer) I was instantly hooked. It was so inspiring to find so many likeminded individuals and also some more hardcore comics geeks (Hartville Ohio has a clear deficiency) I lurked for a long time, before finally deciding to join.

Hey, I'm Zach. I registered a long time ago, but I'm just now starting to use my account. I'm not very well known, but my main props are guns. I just love me some firearms. I'm a big airsofter, but I'm still rather good. I recently finished a set of web shooters.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everybody,

I am a huge Star Wars fan, I tried to make some decent models in the past and I also have some stuff on-going, my only problem is that my flat is too small and, even if I build something I could not expose it....Sigh, sob!
For the time being I will only watch and suffer..

Ciao!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey all

Mostly a Ghostbusters prop builder, I'm here to drool over you're amazing builds. Still pretty inexperienced at building, but would love to get more into it.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

G'day everyone,

I figured that I better do the right thing and introduce myself. I'm Shane and I'm from Australia. I came across this site whilst searching on how to make a Batman or Iron Man costume.

I've never really made a costume before, usually just take the easy option and buy them when needed for costume parties. But also usually go way overboard in an attempt to get one that looks awesome.

I saw all that's being made on here and got inspired to give it a go and so I'm underway in building an Iron Man Helmet out of Pep. Up to the strengthing part now and really happy with how it's looking. If it all goes well I'll probably finish the suit and then we'll see where I go from there.

Special mention to Stealth (TheHeroTutorials) your videos have really helped me out and gave me the confidence to give it a go, so thanks mate.
