re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone,

I was shown this site by my friend callmemilo after asking him for help with a costume I would like to do at some point... the "at some point" being important there, since I have a lot of Uni work that gets in the way of big costume dreams hahaha.

I'm a cosplayer, and whilst I'm not brilliant, I would like to improve, and this website looks like the best way for me to improve my skills. There are some AMAZING threads on here that I've just found myself lost in reading XD

I'm a girl as you can probably tell by my name and profile picture :p BUT, I mainly crossplay... dress up as guys. Which I fear is the only "help" I'll be to anyone on these forums. You wanna look like a guy? SENDS ALL THE CROSSPLAY ADVICE LINKS.
I sure hope I can help people... because I sure am gonna need a lot of help from people hahahaha.

I kinda like to do/plan a lot of Disney cosplays, I've done Peter Pan and my next one is Flynn Rider (although that wasn't the costume I needed help on, it's not Disney). To be honest, finding this site is such a blessing as it's so helpful for general costume making anyway.

Thank you for reading this... if you did. I'm not entirely sure how many full members actually come in here to get a scope of the new members. But if you did then hello, it is very nice to meet you.

- Beth

Hello, found this site looking for captain america helmets, figured I'd join up. I got into cosplay recently after a convention down in long beach, although I had been thinking about Roman historical stuff for a lot longer. I have been focused on making a WW2 Brubaker Cap costume and a Commander Steve Rogers costume (although fabric paint is super annoying on stretchy stuff!). Actually the brubaker Cap thing just sorta happened. Bought some baseball pants to go with the commander costume and put them on with my movie cap shirt that I'd been wearing to cons. Worked out and sparked a lengthy project.

G'day Everyone, Dave here from Melbourne Australia.

I have known of the RPF for a few years, but haven't dived in and truly searched around, so I thought I might register and check out the site.

I'm a member over at TDH, and I am in the process of doing an ESB Fett.

I started making SW costumes in 2009, and I have a Complete FISD Elite Infantryman ESB Storm trooper.

I hope to look through these pages and become inspired by the talented people on here, and hopefully not spend too much money (But I can't guarantee that!)

I also play in a band, you can become a fan here: www.facebook.com/thepassouts

Respect!

Dave.

Here's a pic of my ESB Stormtrooper, and my 1 part of my ESB Fett which is finished, the blaster, enjoy!

Hello, hello, hello!

I'm Dave and like many of you, I'm a prop builder. I've been a member on some other sites over the years (mostly lurking) and I have to say: The RPF is populated by some of the most congenial, helpful, and all around nice people I've ever seen on forums similar to this.

I don't mean to dog other sites, but I always get the distinct impression that it's an old boy's club. The idea of people helping each other becomes lost to pride and snarkiness. I realize that it's frustrating when people ask the same questions over and over again, but out of the 271 of 451 pages in the replica movie threads I've devoured in the last couple of weeks, I see a consistent civility that is unmatched elsewhere. Maybe that has to do with all of the British members ;)

In short, thank you for existing and I look forward to posting some of my own projects from the past and (hopefully) absorbing the berth of information everyone so kindly has provided. Keep up the good work everybody, you remind me why I love to do what I do!

Dave

Hi everyone, I think it's awesome to come to a place with so many helpful people... I am new to the whole prop foam costume building thing, I am a mac user so pepakura isn't an option for me, if anyone has suggestions I would be glad to hear them

I would love to build the ironman suit in foam and will post my progress and in turn help those I can, looking forward to an awesome time here!!!!

hello everybody! I joined you to learn your work is awesome! You have enormous talent at your fingertips! I'm on the other side of the Atlantic in Toulouse, France. I did that for my kids costumes with patterns and I do not know how you go about making beautiful replica of your characters. My husband want me to give him the costume in the movie captain america first avenger. it is super complicated for me without pattern. Thank you in advance for your advice I attached some pictures of the costumes I made for my children. and thank you google translate because my English is very bad.

Hi,

My name is Ben and I live in the u.k, I'm mainly interested in commando collectibles ( Schwarzenegger ) I don't own any props of yet apart from a genuine Seiko hybrids watch identical to the one Arnie wore in the movie, I'm looking to create my own props but have no idea where to start. I want to start with a Bennett costume I know he wore a British paratrooper WWII string vest and that's all I know. I need to find info on other clothing worn by Vernon wells in the movie. I would appreciate Anyone's help.

Nice to be here
