Hey there,
I'm from Northern Ireland, I found this forum multiple times usually while looking for daft punk helmet tutorials. I recently re-watched all the star wars movies and am now hooked, I'm hopefully going to follow some tutorials to have made something I can call my own.
I also enjoy making non-firing replica guns, hoping to start on a thompson m1a1 soon.

See you around :)

Hello all!
I'm from Salt Lake City, Utah. I found this forum doing tons of research for building a portal gun (the ASHPD) and throwing chicken's thread brought me here. I have a huge interest in building props, and hope to one day make a career of it. I'm currently going to school for my BFA, with a sculpture emphasis. This forum is already dangerous for me to look at during work, since I can binge on it for hours. Thanks for having such an awesome community.

Hi there! This is Ricardo, from Spain. A friend of mine told me about this site and here I am. I´ve several collections: caps, action figures (mostly wrestling figures), cars (usually 1/43, but not only), soccer mugs, and Star Wars merchandising.

Hope to hear from you soon!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Gidday folks, I've been costuming since late 80s and specialise in recycling stuff. But in the last few years costuming for me has exploded in a major way. I've done a lot of stuff, but my favourites have been Steampunk inspired original designs, A muftak jedi Knight called Fuzzy Warbles, the Comedian and Mad Max. But the big project at the moment is the suckerpunch Bunny mech. I also collect everything , do cinema displays, illustrate and work on my japanese garden.
see you in the funny pages.

Hello THERPF! I’m so excited to join a prop making community. Here are some prop weapons that I have made.

• 2 rifles
• Uzi
• Luger
• A small handgun
• Another handgun (it looks a little like a Sig Sauer P220 series handgun)
• Revolver

Hello there, I'm Shaun from London and have looked at this forum many times over the last year. I work as a theming artist, (artificial rocks, concrete effects, prop making for Tourist Attractions), but my main passion is portrait sculpture. I hope to make some character busts in the near future and have found this forum a great source for tips and inspiration. Exciting times!! Thanks for having me!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone! Well I've been posting for a little while now but realized that I never introduced myself. So - Hi!

I'm a big TV/Movie fan (though admittedly not as big as some members on the RPF!!). I have yet to acquire a screen used prop, but my day will come! Replica's are great too though - I find that purchasing a replica over a screen used prop will keep you out of bankruptcy most days!!!

To that end, I've geared my collectors focus towards a growing collection of 1:18th scale Hollywood TV/Movie cars.

This is a less current picture of my collection. Since then I've added the Mad Max Interceptor, Magnum's 308, Elanor GT500 (the original), and Optimus Prime. Masterpiece OP is the perfect scale - well, maybe not the perfect scale, but he fits in a display case!. I've also moved the cars in boxes into proper display cases.

Anyway! I really love the RPF and enjoy conversing with you all! I hope to make some neat friends/acquaintances here!

Have a great day!

Monster Dave.

Greetings Programs,
Its your friendly neighborhood Targ here. I've been costuming since I was 18, forty years ago (even then geek chics were HOT). I'm pleased to actually get to post on here finally. For one reason or other (usually losing the darned password or crashing the confuser) I've never really been able to hang around here. I hope to learn much from you all. I have set a goal of getting a new vactable set up this year.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone!

I've been collecting comics since the age of 10, collectables and props since age 15, and found this forum through friends and through a forum I've frequented for over a decade now called Indygear.

I'm starting to get into prop building and collecting and have been eyeing a Green Lantern lantern (thinking of making one based off of the threads about it) and a Captain America shield. Hope to really learn a lot here and enjoy this great hobby.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings. My name is Michael Matsuda. I have a museum, a martial arts history museum in the city of Burbank. We cover how Asian history became part of American history, which of course includes our movies. Paul Wee, from the Simpson animation team, made us a wonderful terracotta solider out of styrofoam and Bill Webber made us the Great Wall of China also out of styrofoam for the Museum. As a graphic designer by former trade, I put a lot of art into the Museum. However, I would like to add more visualality (if that's a word) to the museum. I used someone's advice here to make a dummy for one of our uniforms, worked out great. So, anyway, I'm here to learn and also to see how I can include some movie props for the museum. They don't have to be originals, just interesting enough for children to enjoy. I have a lot of learning to do in this area of making props so I hope you can all guide me through it. Thanks.

Hello everyone. I just joined to see what everyone creates and maybe get into building props for myself and friends.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, my name is Stuart. I love to see all the props and costumes people make. I found my way to this forum through a video on TED of Adam Savage talking about making a replica Dodo bird and replica Maltese Falcon. My big loves are Ghostbusters and Fallout. I'm not very good at the specific details of pieces and I'm hoping to find some good learning tools on here. The only things I've really made are a simple Vault 13 jump suit and some pieces to go with it (necklace of fingers, hunting rifle ((which I didn't make, I simply acquired an actual air rifle that didn't work anymore) I made a crude Pipboy using an old hockey shin guard, it doesn't look anything like previous incarnations of the Pipboy though I figured with all the different models they've made surely there are some we just haven't seen yet? Haha. Anyway, I will post some of the things I've made and hopefully people can point me to tutorials or other information that will help me get better.

Hi, my name is John and I'm in the Navy stationed in Rota, Spain. I'm a comic book geek and I've only recently put my hat in the costuming ring. I'm actually working on 5 different costumes right now(i'm very indecisive) so expect lots of questions. Thank you for letting me be a part of this. :D
