re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, all. I am an artist, now disabled with early onset dementia. For
those who don't know what that is, think of it as something like Alzheimers
on steroids.

I still draw and paint (but the ability to do so comes and goes) and own
an old Russian motorcycle sidecar; which I've named Tanstaafl.

Since the disease hit, I've gone back to model and diorama making, and
have constructed two Tardis interiors (Hartnell's and Eccleston's). My first
scratchbuilt reproductive prop was Khan's necklace/pendant from the Wrath
of Khan and, back in 1985, a full size Tardis.

I also collect stuff, a correct size TOS tricorder, a Diamond Select
Battlestar Galactica, and a couple of sonic screwdrivers. I am currently
waiting for my latest purchase (a Millennium FX sonic screwdriver)
to arrive in the mail.

Hello all ! I'm new here and joined after lurking around for a bit. I'm here to continue to be awed, inspired, amazed and learn.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I just noticed this thread and I'm wondering if I've posted in it yet. Might as well now, even though I've been here for a few months. My name is Adam, I am a 19 year old art student living in Toronto, ON. Ever since I was a young lad I loved Batman. I recently found a few old toys of mine dating back to '93, so even at 2 I was rockin' little figures of the Joker. I have attended FanExpo every year for the past few years now, but I have not dressed up. I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of the Canadian dudes here. Some of you may already recognize me around here but what the heck, might as well introduce myself anyways.

Oh, and charlie98210; incredible, informative introduction. You inspire me to create even more art than I do now, knowing you are competing with an unfortunate disease. It's great to hear it hasn't hindered your artistic abilities and interests.

Hey, I should probably fill one of these out too! I've been making stuff off and on for about 8 years, nothing too spectacular, mostly props for people for anime conventions. My wife used to do theater production, so our house is like an therpf.com episode of Hoarders.

A couple years ago, I made a rather large fiberglass replica of something from World O'Warcraft for a client:

The last thing I made was my replica of the Pipboy from Fallout 3:

I started doing some Nerf Gun repaints, but you know how it is: always time to start a new project, never any time to finish it!

So there's some pictures on my DA account, meowymeowmeow's deviantART gallery , and I'll add more to therpf.com when I find people that need help. I've saved just about every piece of reference art and illustrator file I've made since 2003. Anyway, I've already gotten some great tips and helped out other members and hope to do more of both in the future!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

'ello, hello!

So I'm a noobie to the replica props scene. A huge fan of many shows, I've been getting into cosplay these last few years, and have a contigent of friends who are very interested in building and modeling cosplay props. I've been starting to take to it myself, and have joined the RPF to learn how.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone. I joined last month. I got interested in prop making in 2009, which was when I made my first prop, a GhostBusters proton pack. I have several props which I'm currently building, such as the Rosie Big Daddy Rivetgun from BioShock, and Duke Nukem's Ripper Chaingun. I've also got a few FallOut weapons and props I'm currently working on. The one thing that would be awesome to build would be the PipBoy 3000 from FallOut 3.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi Everyone,

I always was fascinated by figures and sculptures since I was a little child.
And It's my dream one day to be able to sculpt all my favourite actors and characters from movies.

I have not finished many sculptures (I guess about 12 small head sculpts in total) since I started sculpting two or three years ago, so I would still consider myself as a newbie.

Well, I'm here to admire all the inspiring works on this site :love and to learn more about sculpting and making props.

btw: I'm sorry if I sometimes may sound like Master Yoda, but my English/ English grammar is not that good. :wacko

Hey

My name is Rob, and I'm based in Brisbane, Australia.

I've been a fan of cinema for many years, and relatively recently, started getting into props.

Thus far I have a few movie-used original props (a spatula from Shaun of the Dead and a Cloak from Stardust) and have recently pre-ordered the District 9 Assault Rifle.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

I there, I'm Allen and I'm from the UK.

I'm a big fan of a whole range of geeky stuff as well as games and general sc-fi.

Bit of a new arrival witha big interest in building costumes, especially for newyears. Always keen to see what everyone else is upto!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey! I'm Rodrigo, from the Washington DC area, and I've been lurking around here for a bit, and finally decided to register a few days ago. I like to think of myself as a pretty big doctor who fan, and I'm currently in the process of assembling a fifth doctor costume, which is coming along pretty well. I've never really done any props, but I think I might try to get into them at some point.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello, I am new, so be gentle. Richard Coyle suggested this site as something that I might like. So, here I am. A little background is I am a retired realtor from Phoenix, AZ now living in Idaho. You may notice my handle is rvrealtor, well I sold Richard Coyle his house about 15 years ago and knew him from his phenominal Star Trek TOS Phaser prop at Creation conventions my Son and I used to go to on a regular basis. One of my buddies in Phoenix had a sports card shop and I quickly dreamed up a hobby busines for me and my boy to sell Star Trek plaques at conventions. We both had a blast meeting stars, propmakers, people in the industry. Collectibles got out of control quickly as I am sure some of you can attest to.

i noticed at the begging "less is more" and here I am running off at the mouth. Would like some suggestions as to where to start this new oddesy. Happy to be onboard.:)

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi there everyone. I'm Silly Robot (aka Thomas).
I do costuming and such with my wife here in El Cajon, CA. I got here looking for information on how to disassemble a Diamond Select TOS Phaser.

I want to put magnets in the handle so I can connect it to my pants without velcro. The key problem seems to be there is a screw under the rear fins.

I will be searching the forums to see if someone has already posted this info. I've already seem a bunch of cool stuff, and I might get into modding it with a laser.
See you round the forums.
Silly Robot

Hi guys,
my name is Patrick aka "Demorathis" . some of you may know me from the rebelscum or sideshow collectors forums. I collect mostly by character and it's close associations:
Darth Vader (Darth Maul, Boba Fett, Stormtroopers) , Alien / Predator, Godzilla, Batman, and I even have a pretty substantial Playmobil collection (I love the Pirates, Romans / Egyptians, Dragon Knights, Dinosaurs series)...I was trying to track down the exact specs of the transformer adapter used for the Life Size Rubies (Michael Burnett) Darth Vader - I think I may have lost mine...

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey guys, long time lurker to this site... I don't know where to begin, I'm awed at the props showcased here!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello,

I too have been impressed with all the talent displayed on this site, & have found it to be an excellent reference for many projects. Now that I am a member, I hope to contribute as well.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

80's fantasy movies, Jim Henson's works, Star Wars, and other movies with puppets & animatronics make up my films of choice. I'm a musician with 22 years of proformance experience, a facial hair enthusiast with my own moustache wax company. I'm a founder of an official chapter of Beard Team USA, a sideshow fanatic, & overall collector & creator of anything weird, odd or creepy.
I've made a few "things in a bottle" and a steampunk Ghostbusters backpack. I'd love to own a decent stormtrooper costume and get better at sculpting and learn how to mold cast.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello guys. My user name is my real name and I have been reading the RPF forums on and off for a few years. I live in small town Texas and do a lot of prop making and costuming for a local Haunted Attraction.

Also, I am an un-produced screenwriter. My genre of choice is horror.

I've been making props, both original and reproduction, since I was a teenager. My current interest is in making screen-quality props and costuming based on original designs.

I'm gearing up to start a small business making props and masks for Haunted Houses to help pay the bills while I wait (pray) for a script to sell.

I've spent many enjoyable hours reading the forums here and have been very impressed with the workmanship and artistry on display. It's been a very educational experience.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey all :) I'm Chiara and I'm from Brisbane, Australia.

I've mostly made costumes from the anime and manga series Sailor Moon, but want to start working on movie costumes and props. I figured this was the best place to learn!

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi I'm Joe from Denver. Zebra 3 is my 1974 ford Gran Torino Starsky and Hutch replica. I found the forum when I searched for the Ecto Magnum here in town. I've now happily joined the group of Colorado Movie Cars. They are a great bunch.
