re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone. My name is Jay. I reside in upstate NY. Longtime Captain America fan and an avid paintballer. I've combined the two and play paintball in a Cap uniform. Well, several different ones, actually. I'm also currently working on a David Tennant Dr. Who at the request of my girlfriend. I've made a few Ant-Man costumes for my son as well.

Other interests include:

-Being a dad. Hands down the coolest job ever.
- Music. I play several instruments and currently perform in an acoustic metal duo called Acoustiguts. Easy to find us on youtube. I'm the guy in the Cap suit (duh :p)
-D&D. Been playing since early 80s. Never stopped.
-My Pet Monster. Been obsessed with them since I first got the original as a kid in 1985. Between my son and I, we have all but 4 of the complete line.
-Dr. Who. One of the greatest Sci-Fi properties EVER.
-My amazing girlfriend who supports everything I am interested in and all of my various creative projects.

a new member's greetings

Hi, all! I'm new here. I'm a movie love and find out this a very interesting forum! Nice to meet you all on the forum!

Re: a new member's greetings

Hallo and welcome. Please note that there is a dedicated greetings thread in the Replica Props section of the forum - this section is only for film-related discussion.

This is just a friendly note - this forum is not as strict as some but it still pays to read the member guidelines thoroughly. :)

It might be a good idea to contact a moderator and ask for your post to be moved to the appropriate thread.

Bonjiour!

I've no idea what im meant to be saying, so ill tell you a little about me.
Im 17, and make steampunk props. I was linked to this site when i heard about the Greg Broadmore competition involving the righteous bisons. Over the last 2 years i have created 4 rayguns, a ray blunderbuss, goggles, vambraces, a steampunked violin. And i am currently working on a pair of 15th century style pauldrons.

Thats about all i have to say.
Cheers - Dr McGlainco

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

A big HELLO to everyone here!! I'm a little late introducing myself, 'cause everytime I wanna do it, I end up scrolling through all these threads and looking at all the amazing stuff that's going on at the RPF!!

I'm Dutchman, an art-painter by profession (+portrait painting), but I love making other stuff with my own hands as well. A Jack Sparrow costume happens to be one of those things:lol

The passion, creativity, talent, humor AND all the wonderful support people are giving each other here makes this place a real joy being part of!!

Cheers

(oh, and I LOVE THOSE DAFTPUNK COSTUMES, PEOPLE!!!)

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

ATTENTION: possible **SPOILER** re "SuckerPunch" movie!!!

Hey, I'm Chameleon and at last I have found a place to hangout with all the artists, collectors and visually-oriented, HANDS-ON people in the world! I think the "Real-world" is a little too dull without artists and collectors! I started making costumes and "stuff" long ago and I never quit....my addiction is getting worse (or better!) I am kinda interested in SteamPunk and am obsessed with making some moving wings for myself....I am a gold and silver leafer and a faux-finish expert, and right now, I am working on props to satisfy my fixation with SuckerPunch! INTENSE!

I am sculpting Wiseman's Cap Pin, and plan to make some to post on E-Bay. I am making a few sets of Lobotomy tools all decked out in a special collector box (the Teaching Psychiatry Professors in medical colleges want these to teach students why it was a horrible medical psychosurgery MISTAKE) and also Sweet Pea/ Baby Doll fans will appreciate the visual tool, as SuckerPunch had the lobotomy issue at its foundation. I have also created the little brand medallion on BabyDoll's gun, which features two small cherries, which I am silver-leafing today. I am also gonna START with BabyDoll's sparkly headband featuring rhinestones with the Aurora Borealis finish. Maybe I will make the costume, too.....

Anyway! Hello! I am excited to meet ya'll! (Sorry if I wrote too much!)

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all!

Been a member of the Propworx site for over a year now and everyone there says the RPF is THE SITE for addicts like us. I recognize several members from that site here on the RPF.

I'm a big fan of the Battlestar Galactica (2004) television series and the original Star Wars series, Episodes IV-VI. My collection is extremely small with a few screen-used props as my wants vastly outweigh my budget. Looking forward to building some new contacts that can hook me up with some great gear in the future.

Mike

Hi Everybody!!! My name's Glenn, but I prefer to go by Foxx, it's my last name, and I'm in my mid 20s and am just starting to get into travelling by myself and going to comic and anime conventions. Since starting going to Cons, my first was only last January, I've been building up the courage to do my own cosplay seeing as how my 18 and 17 year old sisters are way into anime, and they do all sorts of anime characters. I just did my first appearance in my Deadpool suit a few weeks ago, and it was a blast walking my 4 year old sister around the convention, I can't imagine how funny it must've looked seeing a Deadpool escorting an Astrid from How to Train Your Dragon in the dealer room floor.

I came across this site when I was looking for some references for my Deadpool cosplay, and I have to say you guys BLOW ME AWAY. Some of the stuff I've seen on here is just so professional, it's downright inspiring. I'm not the most technically talented person, I like to piece together costumes out of whatever I can find, I wish I was like you guys doing your Iron Man custom builds or your Dark Knight bodysuits, but it's just so cool to see what you guys are up to, and it gives me ideas for the future. I'm seriously debating getting a Stormtrooper kit after seeing some of the ones people have put together in here, you guys ROCK!!

I'm a pop-culture junky, I love movie marathons of bad movies. I'm a big fan of Star Wars, Comic Books, Science Fiction, Video Games, Zombie Survival Scenarios, and Anime. I also collect Hero Mini Busts and Spawn Figures, plus random odds and ends including a Resident Evil T-Virus Antidote energy drink, Zombie Face Mask Lolly Pop, and my most prized possession is my lithograph from the Devil's Rejects that I got signed my Bill Mosely, Sid Haig, and Sheri Moon.

Ive got a bit of a collection of autographed posters from all the cast of Goonies, BTTF, Scarface, Indian Jones and many more. Ive come to this site for some inspiration on making some props.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi there, I'm Muppo, Roy is the real name, and I'm from Spain.
I was interested on replicas long time ago but never had enough time and cash before to start doing stuff by myself.

Searching for local forums about that topic I found this one and I was stunned how many great craftworkers meet here so I decided to register and be tunned in order to learn more.

Regards.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi, I'm Kenny.
I live in Colorado Springs.
I'm a costumer mostly. But, I want to do more/better props.

I'm trying to learn thermoforming (vacuforming) and other fabrication techniques. If there's anyone in my area who does that kind of stuff, I'd love to learn from you.

I wish I had found this forum YEARS ago!

Kenny

Hey all.
My name is Juan, from Mexico City.
Been around lurking for some time now, but today I finally registered.
I am a 501st member, and have been for some years now.
My interest slowly went from simple costuming to replica making...
Love anything SW if it was on film, specially the OT. And just love the look of real ANH stormtroopers and sandtroopers.

Trying to make my armor and gear look as much as in the movies as budget allows. Currently have a Sandtrooper TE2 armor.

Happy to be hear, read, share and learn.

Saludos
