re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **
Hello all, my turn to introduce myself.
My name is Darryl, I live in Australia again after spending 11 years in the states.
I've built purchased models in the past and always enjoyed making them, same as most of us here i imagine. My interests are mostly sci-fi.
I built my own full scale Dalek a few years ago out of the sheet metal I acquired from two old lockers. I did it from metal because I was told how it couldn't be done that way.
I also modified the original design so that the middle section (guns and arm) could rotate as shown in the 2005 series cgi Daleks. It was built to resemble the Daleks from 'Genesis of the Daleks'.
I have made a number of spoilers and assorted car related parts from fibreglass, all self taught as it is with most of my projects. My most recent build was a complete car body which turned an '84 model Nissan 300zx into my own design, which resembled an old stingray corvette. I also fitted a 500 ci Cadillac motor and trans into it. (Yeah I can't leave stuff alone.)
Most recently I have been making models for a Fallout 3 mod I am working on; it would be so great if making props were as easy as making models in blender.
My furture plans include making another Dalek (which I can keep this time) and a Serenity Firefly model at least 4 ft in length...
