Hello hello! Phoenix, Arizona reporting in, new to the forums but brought here by the darn Blade Runner water gun. Still a total noob when it comes to crafty things.

Hey guys, I guess I was supposed to come here and say hello back when I registered...sorry..was going through a separation at that time..

anyway, I've lurked here for years, been a fan of pretty much anything scifi since I was a wee lad (I vaguely remember seeing Empire Strikes Back in the theater with my Dad..I was probably 4 at the time) anyway, I came here to look at all the awesome stuff, maybe learn a thing or two as well. My main interest is in lightsabers, and a few prop guns as well.

Thanks for letting me be a part of the family!

Thanks

Gray

Hello all. I registered here because I enjoy scale modeling and have been researching to build a FM 1/72 Millenium Falcon. I'm an engineer for a specialty materials company that has made the windows for every manned NASA spacecraft.

Best regards,

Matt

Hi Everyone,

Love going all out with my Halloween costumes, however I have yet to make a prop. I did dabble in ceramics in HS and college, looking forward to what I may learn on here.

I guess I should post here. I've lurked on theRPF for a few months following some builders posts. I got into 3D printing 1 1/2 years ago and have made some small props for fun and to see if I could actually make them. I liked what I had made and wanted to get a bit more into it. I'm still new to a lot of this and have a lot of learning ahead of me.

Some works in progress and completed props (I know, not all movie props, but still):

Master Sword (Incomplete): I have no pictures of the current stage, which is the first coat of paint. Didn't like how the "chrome" paint came for the blade and have abandoned it until I can find a better solution.

Wearable Arc Reactor: I rebuilt the LEDs inside (last night, actually) in preparation for this Halloween 2017. Evened out the light and added more LEDs to make it brighter.

Destiny Thorn (This was my first "Larger" project and had never finished and painted a 3d part before this). I made it a year ago and looking back at it, it's a very rough print and paint job.

I'm in the process of building an Iron Man Mark 45, and if I can get far enough maybe I'll share some pictures some day. I have a really bad habit of starting a project, getting some of the way through, then moving onto the next without finishing the last project.

Hey Everyone, never really made any props or anything before but I've been lurking around on here for a while now. Looking forward to maybe making some iconic blasters and stuff from some of my favorite films.

Thanks,
Matt

Hello there,
I'm kinda new to the world of props and replicas (ok a couple of years maybe), but I'm keen to get started. Been building a few things here and there and I love me some Blade Runner too!

Hello RPF community!
I've been scrolling through for a couple of months now, just checking things out, and I finally decided to join. This is a great resource for prop builders! I am just getting started in prop building. Having some trouble scaling and finding the right size for me...lol... I just attempted an Arkham Origins cowl and well......I'll get there though. Would appreciate any suggestions or tips from you experienced people out there!

Hi y’all, my name is Andre from Sydney Australia. I’ve been following these boards for a while but hadn’t actually posted or contributed in any way..... so I figured it was time to fess up.
My background is in Motorsport and ive found myself coming back to what I loved as a kid-building stuff from Star Wars ( lol ) My time making Composite components for racecars has afforded me a skill set that is very much at home in prop making.
I’ve been making props for a while and will continue to do so will what little time I have to myself.
I love the projects many of you have posted and I hope to start contributing.

Hey everybody!

I go by Travez.
I am an Engineer/Fabricator/Designer (Day Job), I formally worked in the gaming/mobile gaming world.
I now am a Real Life Environment Artist, who loves 3D and to use his hands.
I am new to the world of RPF and want to try hands at it, and use my CNC tools and knowledge to make things relate to Gaming and Pop Culture.
I hope to make some new friends on here and where I live which is San Diego.

Hi everyone!
I'm Caite I have been a life time crafter, I started making costumes a couple years ago after my son was born. When he was old enough to go trick or treating we couldn't find a small enough Finn from adventure time costume so I made him one. This began the obsession. I haven't made replicas.... Yet.
I thoroughly enjoy reading the forums everyone has so much talent it is so cool to watch your builds come together. I look forward to seeing more of it and being apart of the community.

Hello all. Thank you for letting me join in. I've been building historic weapons from wood for a while, and recently got into building fantasy and SciFi stuff. I will post some build pics once I figure this all out!! I'm not great with technology. I do all my work as commissions, but I'm here to learn and find out info on projects, and problem share, not specifically to sell stuff.

Hi everybody! my name is Alessandro and thank you for having me here, i'm a designer whit the big passion for sculpting and making stuff, finally i decided to join this community , i hope to meet some peoples that share my same passion, and to share my projects whit you guys ,i am a huge star wars fan , thats what it mainly inspired and influenced my self as a designer and architect , i like to think that if you can dream it you can do it..... and that the force will be whit you always ... :) ciao and thank u again

Hello! My name is Andrew and I've been working on a project to make 3d-printed kits of the Blast-O-Matic ray gun from Call of Duty: Zombies. I have a background in Mechanical Engineering and a desire to use my skills to make replica props that are easy to assemble while remaining accurate to the source material.

Here is an image of the ray gun from Call of Duty: Black Ops III

Here's an image of my prototype as it stands right now.

If you can't tell, this model requires no painting at all thanks to the multi-material capabilities of the Prusa i3 MK2s 3d printer and a bit of strategic modeling and assembly. If someone can tell me how, I would love to start a thread on this project.

Hello! Had an old account but never posted just lurked. Enjoyed the read but I was deleted because I did not post enough. LOL! I am back now. I am an entertainment industry veteran for thirty years. I have built all kinds of props and models both big and small. I'll be posting this time around. There are some well-intentioned but incorrect assumptions about some props and models I have worked on that I would like to correct. I am showcasing a lot of my work, both old and current, on Instagram under my name: circa1964. Once I hit my 90 days/50 posts line and upgrade to premium, I may even have a few personal projects to let go of. We'll see how it goes. Cheers! :cheers

Its my first time working with eva foam. I have been taking lots of pics as I go. I am using some seriously amazing works as inspiration (as you can see pinned up in my little work space) I am hoping to really make this my own with some of my own flair from gaming experiences. This is a great resource and just want to say thanks for any advice I may glean in the near future! I will be adding LEDs and voice changer to the helmet and a 3d printed articulating power fist. Lots of work to do and many more months of learning ahead! Happy making, guys!
