G'day,
Have finally activated an account , from down under and have been making things for years. From lightsabers And parts at tfx studios to makeup fx sculpting and now droid building , my latest build a full size r2 unit remote control. And costuming .
I see many talented artists here and I hope to share any knowledge I have with you all.

Hello, I'm Clint from the state of Michigan in the US. I've never been a maker before but have always wanted to. I recently found a Heiland camera flash at an estate sale and plan on turning it into a Darth Vader lightsaber as my first of hopefully many projects!

Im a 21 year old looking to learn more about prop makeing iv had a little experiance and would love to learn more

Hi Guys, Xavier here from Holland. Have been a member of the 501st for half a year now, and having a great time trooping with my original trilogy stormtrooper. Looking to expand the collection and exited to see what else is out there!

Hello Everyone,

Nice to meet you! I'm just now getting into the cosplay community but I've always had a love for special effects, props and costumes. My current project is a Warhammer 40K Nightlords Chaos Sorcerer and I'd like to have it completed by this time next year. I've also started a blog with two friends and made a Facebook page so that I can post updates and generally stay motivated. I'm working with a small to modest budget so unfortunately I won't be able to work with fiberglass and beautiful silicone molds but I've learned the wonders of EVA foam and Worbla so I'm pretty excited at being able to do this finally.

Hi - my name is Steve. I live in Winnipeg, MB, Canada (just put your finger on the geographical centre of North America and that's where I live). I'm an avid Star Wars saber collector and pretty active on the IRA and FX Forums. I've been lurking on the RPF for the past year, and I've recently decided to get immersed in SW Cosplay - especially anything involving lightsaber choreo. I'm pretty impressed at the amount of information available at my fingertips here on the RPF. You folks definitely know your stuff. Hoping to put together a Darth Vader costume some time in the near future - focusing on functionality, durability, and ease of movement over accuracy (I know - that's heresy to most of you). But if I'm going to dress up like Vader you can be darn sure I'm going to use a lightsaber.

Hello everyone! My name is
Joe . I reside in Houston, but I'm originally from New Orleans. (A casualty of Katrina). I've enjoyed building models of all sorts throughout my lifetime. I love looking at professional model builder's work, not only for the admiration, but for the techniques used that I can apply to my own craft. I look forward to studying the different techniques of those who are members here. Thank you for allowing me to be part of this wonderful forum.

Hello all!

I've been lurking through a number of the back posts over the past few days, and finally decided I just had to make an account and jump in.

I'm gearing up for a summer and fall of a lot of Star Wars crafting, hopefully. Most of this will be new to me, but between the amazing level of support here and my general craftiness, I'm guessing it should go pretty well. Anyhow, looking forward to trading ideas with some of you, and continuing to see what incredible stuff everyone makes.

howdy! i'm Luke and i'm from Italy. i mostly do star wars cosplay and props, but i'm planning on starting a fallout cosplay soon. i also do some model making from time to time to keep myself busy... so yeah, this community is pretty much the paradise on earth for me lol.
cheers

Hello everyone, I'm a new member from the Pacific Northwest- we do a big haunted house display every year, and I've got experience building props for yard displays...I joined the RPF specifically because I need help with a Halloween costume project for my 8 year old, and after google searches kept turning up this site I figured I should sign up.

Hi Guys.

This is my first post here, or anywhere else in fact in relation to Cosplay and Prob Building.

I have always been an avid "maker" with an err on more practical things like like storage units, work space and cabinets.

I caught the "prop making" bug relatively recently after binging on the Tested channel on YouTube, with Adam Savages "One Day Builds" a major highlight.

By day I am a Product Specialist for a major Industrial Optical Company, designing and using Industrial Endoscopy equipment for use in an abundance of applications including Aerospace, Gas Turbine Systems, Power Generation, Nuclear, Security, Defense, Automotive and Oil and Gas, so spend the majority of my time travelling around Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Russia, with trips to Tokyo in between, so I do have my fair opportunity to stock up on as much RPT thread reading and YouTube binging whilst travelling.

Equally, and perhaps more positively, my access to the aforementioned environments, and a multitude of different countries and cultures allows to me stock up on some interesting parts and greeblies that may not be readily available to everybody else. As such my garage/workshop has quite a large stockpile of "interesting parts" as I like to call them - or Junk, as my wife likes to call them...

My other passion is Photography (mainly 35mm and 120 film) which I am sure will manifest over the coming months!

After spending so many months reading and gleening information from TheRPF, I thought it was about time to finally contribute to such an amazing forum, and this weekend, I managed to complete my own "One Day Build" - A DL-44 Blaster, lightly inspired by the Han Solo "Greedo Killer Edition" - A write up will follow...

Please do not expect a completely "Screen Accurate" model, this was my first every build, the first time I have every tried weathering techniques, and I only used parts that I had lying around with only the vaguest reference to any "credible material" and a base of a £2.99 (Colourful) Mauser Toy from eBay...

Hello group. My name is Steve, I'm old enough that I should have a proper hobby and dress more conservatively, however, since building a couple of items using pepakura I've become a bit of a fan of the RPF and the all out GODS who reside here.
I'm a "dabbler" at best and not even a gifted amateur but I enjoy making helmets and stuff from whatever franchise or film takes my fancy at the time.
Below are a couple of the projects I've cobbled together to date.

I am looking forward to posting my new stuff as and when my tight budget can afford the materials and TIME.
For my latest build, I've created a little blog at http://sargentvenom.blogspot.co.uk/

I look forward to participating in the forums and getting some advice/feedback from other members.

I love you all.

Hi everyone!
Been browsing the RPF for a good while now, I thought it might be time to register.

I am, by trade, a graphic designer & illustrator with some animation experience and have spent some time in the video games industry creating advertising etc... Prop and model making is yet another creative outlet for me!

I'm currently underway with my first foam Iron Man helmet (seems to be a good first-project for learning the techniques), but in the past I've made the odd space-gun and costume prop for halloween.

I'm looking forward to soaking up some information and hopefully I'll be able to contribute some of my own.

Hey
I'm Graeme, an all round geek from Scotland.
I found this place when searching for a decent image of a Babylon 5 PPG, and then lost about 5 hours dipping in and out of random posts...
I joined because I don't have enough ways to avoid doing things I really should be </sarcasm>

It's been a long time since I tried to make anything, and I was pretty poor at it, so I expect most of my interaction will be drooling over others creations.

Hello therpf!

I'm a maker in Charlotte and primarily host a different Halloween-themed project every year and even made it into the Wall Street Journal in 2015. Well, 2016 will be my favorite and most ambitious adventure - the Dark Side of the Force.

With the number of prop builds underway at any given time, I focus on low-cost, close-but "squint-scale" accuracy. I'll be sharing many of my build projects over the next few weeks and am looking forward to meeting many of you along the way!

Hello RPF'ers! My name's Nate, and I enjoy creating props in my spare time. I've dabbled in Pepakura, as well as using toys as bases for props. I'm about to start up an EVA foam Stormtrooper build, and to start it I've built an E-11 out of a toy blaster from Disneyland, soon to be posted in the Star Wars Forum. I look forward to working with you wonderful folks in the future!

Hey everyone.
I had always heard about this forum. I am starting to build my first custom FX lightsaber, and many google searches about screen accuracy has lead me to threads on the RPF. Figured I might as well join in on the conversations. Picked up lots of great info here. I look forward to posting and reading more. Thanks guys for all the valuable info.

Hello. I've been lurking for a while and finally made an account. I've been wanting to build a few different things so I've come here to explore and pick the brains of some experts.
