Introduce yourself

Hello all!

I am new to this form and would like to introduce myself. I love Spider-Man and all different kinds of Marvel characters. And I enjoy very much creating costume props as a hobby. Here is a video that I created showing how I made my five-year-old son's Scarlet spider costume. I hope you all enjoy! Nice to meet you all.

Re: >> New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! <<

Hi! My Name is Nik, I'm the one responsible for props and scenery at a small theater in Austria. I've been collecting replica props for quite some time now and I have come to understand that the RPF is the place to be for any serious collector. So here I am. Hello everybody!

Hi everyone! I'm not really a new member here but it has been a loooong time since I have been active and I used to be mostly inte screen used props. Now I have moved to a big farm with a great garage for fabricating. So now I have thought that I will give it a go at making my own replica props aswell. I will hopefully be more active here in the future! Nice to be "back" to the RPF again!

Hi everyone! I guess it's not too late to introduce myself. I've been around on this forum since 2011 trying to build a Kevin Flynn Tron Legacy costume. Now I'm onto building a Star-lord costume after seeing Guardians of the Galaxy. This forum has been a wealth of knowledge and I'm so happy that I found it. You guys are awesome!

Hello!

I just found about this place while searching for a guide on making a helmet. AWESOME SITE!

Anyways, I'm from Ecuador (I would like to contact people from home, not many public places to meet other fans of this) and I've been doing very basic papercraft since a couple of years ago and very recently a fiber glass Captain America shield for my dad's birthday and now I'm working also on a Hyrule Shield from Zelda's franchise for myself.

I'll post pictures of the progress for both shields. It's cool to see how things are done when there are no big stores and fancy products around ;)

Cool to be here

Hello! I've been browsing the RPF off and on for about 10 years now. Starting with Indiana Jones props and gear. I was also a regular at Club Obi-wan during that time. I was doing pretty much only Indy gear for about 6 years, then I stopped due to work and later moving away to Alaska. I've regained interest in costuming and prop making again with Ghostbusters. I'm glad to be here and it's great to be able to post instead of just lurking!

Damn this is awesome! Siickest Halo cosplay i've seen so far!

Hello! There's already been one intro for GlitchTech here - but I'm his wife and we're going to be sharing the account from now on. (Going for a Premium membership in a bit, so figured it's best to keep costs down.)

My name is Erica, I live in Kansas. I do primarily sewing work, and have an embroidery machine so I make lots of geeky patches and the like. My big build right now is a flash suit from Ender's Game. Matt (husband) is making a flash gun, I've already made the suit and I'm in progress on the helmet.

My favorite things to make, though, are Marvel costumes! To date I've made Loki's jail cell costume from Thor 2, a pajama version of Loki from Avengers, a leather Winter Soldier coat, an America Chavez jacket, a Deadpool suit, and (possibly my favorite) a DOFP Quicksilver complete with Stereobelt. Quicksilver had a lot of meticulously researched purchased parts, but I made the jacket from scratch and designed the 3D printed Stereobelt myself!

I actually make costumes for a living, so if you ever need any fabric or embroidery work done, hit me up! I have a whole bunch of other work examples on my website, http://barefootsewing.com.

Hello all! Just found out about the site on a podcast and thought it sounded right up my alley. Off to waste hours and hours browsing the threads!

Hey Everyone,

Hi Everyone,

Thanks for accepting me into the fold, I recently had an epiphany, I have always been into comics/games/sci-fi etc but never had a go at making props, I decided to try making my own Iron Man armor and I loved every second of it, I learnt how to use a soldering iron a glue gun etc all things I had never done before. It has got me on a roll and I am now making props for pleasure all the time! I have made a few videos of my projects, including making my own head cam to film making the props, I will share them on here so people can see what I have been up to, enjoy.iron man.jpghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vEj6e8knQWo&list=UUr0ec0H7tNwfEEgoQ8qWoPQ

Just checking in to say hi, been many many years since I've built anything and recently been rediscovering my creative streak and started drawing and tried out sculpting, following threads on Conceptart.org lead me here and after seeing so many amazing builds I thought I'd get back into it big time, though really having to start from scratch as far as tooling etc, so many parcels on there way o_O.

Seeing the Falcon builds is what has really inspired me and being a child of that time, I've ordered and made a slow start on a Fine Molds X-wing for practice, but got a little carried away and ended up buying 3 of the 1/72 falcons thanks to contacts in Japan finding me a bargain and some careful shipping to aid with customs ;-), and have 2 in my paws already. looking forward to sharing my trails and tribulations with you.

Andy

Hi everyone! I'm making my first cosplay outfit, and the forums here have been a plethora of great information and pictures! I'm doing a female Star-Lord from Guardians of the Galaxy. I'm excited to see how it turns out with everyone's help here!

Hello,
So my buddy and I started up on some projects several years back. Mostly tabletop mini customization and molding. After that I introduced him to the con scene and then we had to build costumes. Nothing like purchasing parts here or there, we kinda like to build. Though we have gotten to the point where we don't do every little thing. Read a lot on the rpf previously and decided I might as well sign up and get some advice as the learning curve can be awful steep. Looking forward to the camaraderie.

Hello everybody!
My name is Simone and I'm an italian 25 years old guy. I'm quite a geek of all the cool things such as Star Wars, Star Trek, Batman, Superman, James Bond, etc.
I'm in fact already a member of another "prop" related site, FXSabers.com, having myself some collector's editions items related to Star Wars (mainly lightsabers).
I do own some costumes already: Toki from Fist Of The North Star, Obi Wan Kenobi from Star Wars Episode III, The Joker from Nolan's The Dark Knight movie, and I hope to realize a Batman one from Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns.
So... Nice to meet you all! :)

Hello everyone,

I am Adam, and I just recently started cosplay. Nothing crazy yet, but my wife and I are planning to attend Gamecon in Cologne, Germany next year so we are working on things now. Can't wait to get advice and critiques when needed!

Hello,
