Hi Guys

Just wanted to say I'm pleased to join you here and I will start posting my Projects ASAP

About ME: I'm a full on gamer that spends 80% of his time either online or fiddling with some sort of little project. I'm a day Trader, Freelance Graphic Designer and Managing Partner for Liberty LAN South Africa.

Projects I would like to do:
1. Would be a Iron Man Suit MOD for my PC case with Arc Reactor as my CPU Cooling unit,
2. Dead Space Snow Suit or Suit 289 for short,
3. A miniature version of Galadhrim (Elven City featured in The Lord of the Rings Saga).
4th and this is the hard one a Pi based system working on all the same technologies as Siri that will be called Jarvis and would use the same voice.
5. Help out any one here with projects the need help on.

Hope to see you soon with Pics :D

Nox OUT

Hi im Mitchell and a novice to prop design and making I am 18 and intend to pursue prop making as a career and have been in love with the different props and pices used by actors in film and TV since I was young. I would love help to get my self started thanks.

Crud sorry, just noticed this "Intro yourself" thread after my first post lol
Oh.. well.. where to begin.
Never done any type of prop building, although I do like to tinker and experiment. Was searching some information on Tardis builds (fonts, size, width/height ratios etc) and found this place. Also looking into bookcase/furniture building as that's my plan.
I work in infosec, but always liked doing things with my hands. Used to be an electrician for Bombardier Aerospace, build my kids their play set outdoors.. So I have a wide range of interests, and I hope ability. I mean I've made walls, laid down flooring and stuff but nothing needed pin-point accuracy (well when it comes to wood anyway).

Anyway, nice forum don't know if/when I'll be able to contribute anything other than questions but one can never know.

hello i'm Vance I am very new to prop building I dabbled in it a couple of months ago but now i'm going to try to get serious about it and I think I could have fun with this hobby I am hoping being a member on the forum will help me at that

Hello Hello Hello

so as an introduction i am am Australian but currently in London for reasons that will be outlined shortly.

about 3 years ago i realised that what i really enjoyed was making things, in particular many weird and wonderful things, but for some reason had never transferred that to making my own costumes and props. but now i've devoted my life and time to learning the techniques i need to be able to create such things. as such i moved to London and this year finally started attending the technical arts and special effects course at UAL. i have been watching the rpf for some time but only joined a little while ago as i figured i should start to post and utilize any help i can get and as i know more i can help others

first replica prop thread in about 5 minutes :)

Hi.

I am Christina and a member of the 501st in germany. My interests in props are mainly star wars but other cool scifi stuff (like mass effect or farcry) as well. I am relatively new to the Forums.
Other hobbys of mine are moddeling garage kits as well as building them. ;)

Hi,

I'm Art and I'm just amazed at the level of talent shown on this forum. I'm mainly starting off with an interest in Star Wars costumes, but who knows where else I might be drawn to.

Sup chumps,

I like long walks on the beach, TGI Fridays and Pepsi. My hobbies include( and not restricted to) Urbexing, Cycling, modeling, gaming and being lazy.
I've joined the RPF to not only improve my skills and show off, but to get support with projects that mean a lot to me.

If anyone is able to extract measurements from a handful of images, could they please pm me (I will however make a thread about this to boost awareness if needed)

Hi all, just checking in. Decided to use the alias I normally use on DeviantArt and the Steampunk Forum at Brass Goggles. but normally I just go by Phil. :) Been creating and ocassionally selling Lovecraft and horror based props, along with the ocassional Steampunk item. I just discovered this forum and thought I'd give it a try. Looking forward to gettign to know a lot of you.

Hello everyone! I've been making my own toys since I was a kid and I'm into SW mostly (but now looking at some of the threads, I'll be into more!). I'm a specialty welder/machinist and run a small fabrication shop, so I'm lucky enough to have a great source of tools to use for my prop making. Currently working on a Lightsaber, I will post picks and questions soon.

Hi, My name is Chris. New to the site but a big fan of everyones work on here. I am putting together a Captain America cosplay and I need a shield. Does anyone know anyone who makes them. Eventually Id like to make one but I want one for my next convention. Thanks.

Hi guys!

After a long time, I finally decided to register myself in here :D. Nowadays im building up the JFcustom's Arkham Origins Batman Cowl, trying to use some resine on it.

So, I'm Spanish (forgive my poor english :S), I love building props and cool staff (papercrafts over all) and hope I'll have a lot of fun in here :D

Cya next time ^^

Hi :)
I have been making costumes for a few years now. I'm a mom with limited crafting space and even less time, so I really am only able to do one costume a year. (So I try to make it good!)

My most recent costume was an original character from a CCG called Legend of the Five Rings. This year, I plan to make matched his-and-hers sets of samurai armor out of sintra, inspired by the same game, for myself and my husband.

The site has already been a big help to me in getting started, as you've helped me figure out which material to use. Thanks! Looking forward to getting to know the community. ^_^

Hi!
I just got into costume making a few months ago. I've always wanted to make costumes, but I never really knew how to. But then I found this site! It's been a HUGE help in getting started on making costumes.

I haven't completed anything yet, mostly because I'm in high school and almost always busy, but I'm in the middle of making a Raidriar, The God King, costume from Infinity Blade, out of foam.

So yeah! I'm looking forward to making more costumes and getting to know the community!

Hi all!
I forgot to introduce myself. Sorry!
Ok, to the important things: Collector of THE DARK CRYSTAL and LABYRINTH memorabilia/props since 1983/1986.
Also love other genre movies like SW, Blade Runner, Alien, LOTR, ... well the usual boring stuff :)
Last brilliant movie Ive seen is TRIANGLE (2009).

Hi all

Im a on-and-off prop replica collector. I love the work you guys produce and think its great that there is a community where everyone can share their interest in props. Wish I knew about this forum earlier lol. Hope to see you guys around.

Hi.

I only just found my way here today and I've found answers to armor construction questions I've had for days. So I'm very happy to be here. I don't have any experience making armor so this will be fun! I'm very average so nothing noteworthy to write about. Cheers!
