Hey RPF!

I've been lurking here for quite some time now, found this place through some sick iron man armour builds and volpin props, totally blown away with the creativity and work put on the forum and recently decided I'm going to try my hand at making some stuff!

I'm an interactive designer with a sort of "minor" in 3D modelling, so I figured I'd try to apply that to my workflow (3d model, 3d print, finish with traditional materials and do anything big with good old wood, plastic and clay since 3D printing is still really expensive!). The first few things I'm working on are actually some functioning props from the card game Magic: The Gathering. My brother has been playing for about 20 years and I used to play in high school with him and some friends so thought there's such a rich inventory of artwork, would be great to create some stuff around that. I'll be putting those in a separate build thread.

As is my habit I've also got a few other things planned as well, such as a few skyrim props and some other stuff, but as anyone here with little kids can attest, it's tough getting stuff done with little ones vying for ones attention.

I'm waiting on some stuff from shapeways and when it gets here I'll start my build thread, cheers!

James

So, time for an introduction.

I'm based in the UK (Yorkshire at present but I'm from West Wales originally). I'm older than I care to admit and I've been collecting props (full size replicas and screen used originals) on and off for about 35 years. For various reasons I've sold most of them off now, but I still have a few original pieces from the great days of the Universal horror cycle in the 1930s and 40s, and a few personal wardrobe items of Bela Lugosi's. As for costuming, I'm in the middle of an ESB Vader build as I've waited more than 30 years to feel justified in being a kid again and having a halfway decent Darth Vader costume (I'm planning for my 50th birthday to be a Star Wars costume party).

I have a feeling I'll be spending a lot of time around here :D

Hi,

I thought I should say hello after finding my way here in search of a Fallout 3 plasma rifle build. I'm going to post some pictures of how I got on soon so all advice welcome.

Hi all,

I'm Nighthunter22. I live in the US and have been a long time lurker of this forum and decided to finally register a few weeks ago. I am mainly a Jurassic Park collector, but am also into Star Wars, Halo, Marvel, DC, and Sideshow items.

I am also into building/designing prop replicas. I've done a few for JP of course! Should share them soon...

Hi, my first post :). I'm hoping to do an IG 88 build from ESB. Lots to learn and a long road to travel! If anyone has any leads on useful parts, especially a resin head cast please let me know. Thanks for reading, and wish me luck!

Hey guys and gals, long time scale modeller and cosplay here, however my new project will involve a lot of eva foam, and every time i google it this site pops up! So thought id join and ask pesky questions.

Hey guys,

I'm Liam,

I've been browsing prop forums for awhile, mostly just lurking. A few years ago I got into pepping Halo armor, but I've moved on to spidey suits. My first I did was a zentai that had been modified with the puffy paint technique. My new suit I plan on having based on a dye sub and puffed.

Hello, name is Wes. Just enjoying looking through the forums right now at all the creativity here. Definitely more into Star Wars than anything else, however I have always liked Sub Zero so I was thinking about doing a Sith Warrior with some of Sub Zero's armor details. Whether this actually takes shape or forever stays an idea has yet to be seen. Anyway, nice to meet you all.

Hello RPF, I'm Simon

Finally got around to registering here, and looking forward to getting stuck in. Been into costumes and prions for nearly 10 years and there's a lot of names here I recognise from other places :)

Currently a member of the 501st legion and outside of that I also have a 58th Marine costume from the tv show Space: Above and Beyond, which has a screen used M590 rifle. Also own a couple of other props from that show too, will post up some pics

Cheers

Hello all,

My name is Clayton. I happen to stumble upon this page today while seaching the bow used the in the show arrow. Once I got done looking at the thread I had found I began to wonder around the RPF page. The more I saw compelled me to immediatly register which seemed an ever better idea when I was looking at older post talking about not being able to register for a while. I guess you can say I have always been into props but never had the funding to purchase anything other than some odd and end trinkets like a replica necklace that was worn in Underworld. More recently I have been wanting to make my own costume. After toying around with different idea's and watching more and more episodes I have decided on the Arrow outfit from the show. I have already learned a lot from this website as far as going about making it but have a long, rough road ahead of me. I can't legitimately sew and no previous experience with any of it. We'll see how it goes!!

Hey guys. Obviously new to this site. Found it a short while back while looking for silicone mask making tips. My name is Dewayne, I hail from inbred state of Arkansas. Thankfully my gene pool isn't as corrupt as most around this area. Nah, seriously I live in a beautiful state and for the most part people are cool.

I have been into making masks (latex mainly), props, halloween decor since I was about 13. Great number, right? I am 37 now. I have produced my own Professional Haunt. Very crazy and long story, but my now ex is well, mentally ill and she killed our dream for us. Now I'm piecing. I am regaining my tools and materials such as latex, liquid rock (UC30) and things of that nature.

I am now getting into silicone masks. Since my sculpting has gotten better, I wanted to tackle that feat. I now know the secret formula for the silicone and now looking for help with making an injection core. So if you're reading this and can help me, you have no idea how great of a gift you'd be giving me if you could help out. Thanks.

Hey everyone,

I've been lurking around the RPF off and on for a little while now, so I figured it was about time I registered an account. Haven't been making or collecting props before (although I've been wanting to from time to time), but I am working on one now, and I hope to make a few more later on.
Looking forward to being part of the community!

Hi, I'm in the UK, not really into props but hoping to get some tips and ideas here. My main theme is Battlestar Galactica and I've currently got 4 costumes for that, also interested in some fantasy and sci-fi movie builds.20.JPG
