Hi, I always been fascinated by all movie/comics props. Haven't done anything but by registering in this forum I plan to start right away.

Hey! I'm new to the whole prop building community, but have followed for the past 3 years. Just so busy and no funding to start. Now that I have little free time and money I would love to start. My interest ranges widely from Star Wars to Halo to Ironman and etc. I mean I love it all. Huge nerd! haha Thanks for allowing me to follow all of your WIPs?

Nerdy girl from Sweden says hello! :)

I'm a pretty lazy person and hate to built things from scratch, but I'm very interested in movie costume props, and if itäs possible I try to make a cosyume as screen accurate as possible :)

I'm a member of the Star Wars charity organization Rebel Legion and my members costume is for the moment ANH Leia :)
And I'm very interested in female sci-fi heroines! And one of the bad assest ladies are of cours Leia and Ripley ;)

And LAST, I have a cosplay page on FB where I put up my progress and cosplay pictures, so if you're interested of it check it out! :) https://www.facebook.com/ArtyAnnaCosplay

Hi folks!

I've been browsing on here for a few years now, more out of a passing interest than any great need to build props, costumes, etc. All that has now changed, I've been bitten by the prop-building bug.

Born and raised in Cork, Ireland, but I've traveled the world a little bit. I'm back in Ireland now with two kids and they've always enjoyed 'dressing up', not just at Halloween either. Last year we upped our game a bit and made a Slenderman costume for my 9-year-old son and my 11-year-old son got dressed as Ezio. I was Frank the Bunny. Good times all around (although Frank and Slenderman did freak a few people out).

This year, I'm going bigger again - Anthony Stark of Winterfell. Yup, an Iron Man - Game of Thrones mashup. I'll probably need some advise soon, so pardon my silly questions.

Right, I'd better get nback to it!

Slán go fóill,
Arcade Swan.

Hello RPFers!

I have been a long time lurker here on these forums, it is awesome to see all the amazing talent that are on these forums! I joined because I am a huge fan of Spider-Man and recently saw that Mclean is currently working on a ASM2 suit that I would love to be able to get once it is finished. I am a cosplayer been doing it for about 3 years now and spidey has been on my list of costumes to do, just never found a good place to get the close to movie quality suits till now. I look forward to seeing everyone's progress on all the projects everyone is working on. I am a nerd in all video games, movies, and anime =D. currently have no projects going on but hopefully soon!

Hi there, glad to have found this site. What an amazingly talented bunch of people. I found this place because ive been looking for some decent 2000AD stuff for years and never found any, and after the comicon in glasgow, thought id look into making my own. Not a big fan of Judge Dreadd, and for the most part marvel/dc stuff bores me.... I wanna build me some ABC warriors, Rogue Trooper, and Strontium Dog/Johnny Alpha suits.

I know some of that stuffs pretty ambitious for a beginner, so im gonna start small and build up to next years convention. Looking forward to interacting with you all on here, and hope i dont bug you all too much, looking for advice.

Cheers

Greetings!!

Long time lurker(joined in 2010), but this is only my 4th post(all 4 in the last week or so).

My name is John, and I live in Plainfield, Indiana. That's just about 15 mins west of downtown Indianapolis. It's been 3 long
years ago, so I don't really remember what I was looking for, or researching when I joined back in 2010. Haven't really spent
much time on the forums here until recently with the start of my Umbrella Corps Centurion build thread.

I got started into costuming/props at the ripe age of 37. Guess your never too old to learn something new. LOL I am member
of both the 501st Legion and the Rebel Legion. With the 501st, I am a TIE pilot(callsign: Wolfman37) as well as an Imperial
Bridge Crewman. With the Rebel Legion, I am Jedi Knight Jaryn Xur. I am a huge Star Wars fan, and have several other related
costumes either in the works, or on my to do list.

I dabble a little in prop making. A few years ago, I decided I wanted a custom blaster to use with my Tie Pilot. For those that
are familiar with both, I combined elements of the E-11, and the SE-14R, into what I jokingly call the SE11-14R. It's comparable
in size to the SE-14R, but use 3 components from the E-11(ammo clip, the part the d-ring is connected to on the rear cap, and
the E-11 front nozzle with front sight). It also has a rifle scope like the SE-14R.

My g/f and I started a small prop business in May 2012, making and selling accurate rank badges for Imperial Officer costumes.
This past spring, we added officer belts to the mix. The great thing is there are 5 Imperial costumes that use the same style
belt, so we have the potential for lots of new customers as new people work on costumes to join the 501st. If you want you
can check us out on Facebook. Just search for TiggWolf Creations.

We eventually want to get into vacforming armor and helmets. But, that will be a long process, as I don't possess the artistic talent
to carve wood to make mold bucks from. I know there are other methods for making them(hydrocal, etc..), but when you do things
on a one salary budget(I am currently out of work), you try to save money where ever you can without sacrificing quality. So, we'll
get there when we get there.

Other than that, I am a huge fan of sci-fi, fantasy, Marvel, DC, horror, and most things related to all that. Well, I think that is
enough rambling for now. There is a wealth of information and helpful people here, and I am proud to be an up and coming
RPF'er!!

Hello RPF!

My name is Justin, glad to be a part of this forum. I am interested in sharing our Replica Bow and Arrow works on here.... we make functionl versions of the bows and arrows that were used in the film industry. There is a lot I hope to learn, as well as hopefully share.

Look forward to digging through this forum, and nice to meet you all!

Justin

Hi all!

I'm Lennart from Germany. So please excuse my rather bad English, but I'm still learning in school. I joined this forum because I started to build my first replica. I saw a picture of a Shock Jockey bottle from Bioshock Infinite and immediately thought that I have to build it. As I was picking up information I saw the thread about the Vigors and thought it would be good to register here. So maybe I'll show you my replica if it looks good, when it's finished.

Hi, my name is Thomas and I live in New Zealand.
I am a big sci-fi fan, and I love collecting models/props from my favourite shows/movies. Some of my favourites would be Doctor Who, Star Wars, Star Trek (TOS, TNG and Abrams reboot), Battlestar Galactica (revived series), Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet. I don't really build anything (unless you count my extensive Lego Star Wars collection, but that's not really 'props'), but I have been known to attempt the odd mod on things (button relocation to slider on CO sonic screwdriver etc.). I mainly joined RPF because I was following the thread for the soon-released 10th Doctor Sonic Screwdriver remote, and because I'm interested in what kinds of awesome things other people are doing.

Hello everyone. My name is Jersy and I am from Florida. I want to start by saying thank you to RPF for letting me join the community. I found this site looking for a way to make an Iron Man mask for my 2 year old son. I saw some posts about making the whole suit and I instantly knew I had to be Iron Man for him this Halloween. I dont know much about making costumes out of pepakura, foam, or plastic but I hope to be able to make something that he can enjoy and remember his whole life. I am sure I will be posting a lot on here since the making of costumes has always drawn my interest. Thanks again!!

Hello Everyone! My name is Liz and I'm from Florida but currently living in Colorado. I'm so excited to finally officially become part of the RPF community since there is such a wealth of knowledge here.

I've been browsing this forum for a long time but only just recently registered for an account. I'm very interested in prop making and hope to create my own business in the future doing so by making prop weapons. I currently make them for my cosplays that I create from mainly video game, scifi, and anime genres. I mostly work with wood, however I'm beginning to work with resin and LEDs.

At the moment I'm also starting to dip my feet in latex mask making. I've always loved sculpting with clay and now want to take it to the next level.

Sewing is something that I also do extensively. I refuse to buy pre-made cosplays online and make all mine entirely from scratch.

Nice to meet you all!

Hi all. I'm Dan, I have just gotten into building prop replicas. I'm 40 and live in Idaho. I came across the RPF while doing research on my current project, Jack Sparrow's compass from the POTC movies. I am taking pictures of the project as I go and will be sharing the whole process here. I have several other projects coming after and hope to share many more. So far I think this is a great community and look forward to sharing and learning from the great builders here.

Hello everyone,

Hi all,
Regarding to social convention, I present myself.
As informed in my profile, I live in France. I work in private security as dog handler. Also dog trainer, I’m particularly passionate of knowledge about dog ethology and behavior. I regularly used to practice in a kennel with the aim of helping some lodgers to integrate more easily a new family.
Self-taught and quite dabbler, by my times, I like manual works. Among many other one-off things, I like many sports, movies, high-tech, my mother tongue, a wonderful girl named Anna and of course my faithful and loyal canine companion.
Actually I’m using my lost time by crafting some items inspired by films that marked my past; for example, I recently made an alien egg made of foam and colored latex scale 1:1. After many searches about technical conception, I’m on my way to create an Iron Man armor from Pepakura patterns, with resin, glass fiber and mastic like many have already done. Main reason of my registration on TheRPF.com regarding to the terrific works of many “Pepakura’s engineers”.
My apologizes regarding to the syntax, grammar, vocabulary and eloquence, I learn as I wrote juggling between my knowledge and times to times…my dictionary^^ (Some might think about a translation soft, but in my opinion, old school sweating is a better learning^^)
In this approach, don’t hesitate to correct me!
So, here I am in a few lines^^

Hi everyone,

My name is Chuck and I'm from Colorado. Once upon a time I was a prop master for the theatre department at university which meant shopping thrift stores and organizing the basement mostly. The coolest things I made back then were swords and battle axes made from plate steel and building up the thickness with a tig welder. They were combat ready in the end. Now I'm a filmmaker with a passion for practical effects. My mantra is as practical as possible. Love to get to know everyone and learn, update skills and maybe pursue a bit of fandom as my wife will allow.

Howdy folks!

My name is JB and I'm out in sunny Los Angeles. I've decided that my project for 2014 is going to be a ROTS Vader (hopefully I can get it done by Halloween 2014). It's an intimidating yet exciting project, so right now everything is in the research phase. It'll be some months before I attempt buy/building anything. The two things that intimidate me most about this project are 1) Helmet and armor pieces and 2) I'm not a tailor by any means.

I'm 6'7" and I figure if I'm going to do a Vader costume, I'm going to do it right. I'm not too sure what the rules are on partnering up someone who's already built one, but I will gladly take any and all help I can get

I'm looking forward to this project and collaborating with fellow enthusiasts!

Hellow RPF!

My name is Adina and I've recently started working on cosplay pieces, and have a (mostly) finished Lilith from Borderlands and have plans to build Alana's Landfall armor from Saga as well as a deep burning desire to make some Long Fall Boots and a ASHPD.

Mostly I'm excited to not have to verify my humanity every time I want to search the forum and reap your knowledge!
