re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

hey everyone, im a senior in high school so im not vary experienced in prop building, but i collect anything from batman to godzilla, and have been building models for as long as i can remember. ive recently started buying and building more and more life sized props and am curentley building my first halo armor for my senior project in school. for part of the assignment i need to find a project facilitator/mentor, but i dont know many people in the atlanta area(specificly canton ga) who is experienced in this skill, so if you live near buy and would be willing to help, or know someone who would help i would greatly apriciate it if you messaged me, its a year long project so theres no real rush.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hey everyone, I love props and costumes and have always wanted to build my own Stormtrooper costume, but have yet to finish my Vacuum Forming Machine, so after my son decided we needed to do costumes for Gen Con Indy next year I figured it was time to do some research and see if there was a community that did this. That's how I found RPF, so be gentle with me, I have built a ton of scratch-built models and such, but I am getting ready to attempt my first full size prop, the Rocketeer helmet & Pack, so wish me luck.

I'm pretty new here but I joined because my husband works on models and things like that. His user name is D-Jedi :love. However, I love Dr. Who and I'm a huge Superman fan, so I love to see the different discussions on these subjects as well :thumbsup.

Hey, I'm Jake, or DW, either works.

I've been slowly putting together Colonial Marine bits and pieces over the last year, with the help of other Marines, but my interests are a lot more varied, So I've signed up here so I can look at and discuss other Sci Fi props.

Nice to meet'cha!

Hi, I'm Josh (Also go by shelley because of my last name)

I am new to creating costumes, I am wanting to do a BSG Uniform and eventually superhero costumes (Especially when I can walk without a cane :p) I am experienced in painting mainly. I usually build models when I can. I am pretty easy going and I am always looking forward to making new friends or just people to talk to to share tips and advice.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings all. I have been into props and replicas for many years, though I have never gotten into the making and crafting part of it due to finance, experience and time restraints. I first found my way here a couple of years ago while looking for the bag that Johnny Depps character was carrying in the film The Ninth Gate.

My favorite props/replicas at the moment are my Doctor Who Fob watch(proper metal watch, not the toy with sound effects), my soon to be had Ninth Gate bag, my Indiana Jones boots (though i guess they are not props/replicas given that they are the actual brand and style Mr. Ford wore in the films), my Indiana Jones pocket knife, and my Tardis keys (4th Doctor era and the Yale key type).

Props that I will likely be getting sometime in the next year are: Sonic Screw Driver (4th Doctor era and/or 9th/10th Doctor era), one of Jack Sparrows rings, an Indy jacket, an Indy shirt, Jaynes leather cuff from Firefly, and if i can find 'em a pair of black and silver Nike Vandals( a la Kyle Reese in Terminator).

I've been a member here for a few years but I've never posted before but I thought I'd start.

I'm mostly into Star Wars props but I like some other stuff such as comic book props and LOTR.

I have over 30 custom and replica fx lightsabers and counting. All put together or converted by myself.

Hi guys!

I am a 16 year old from UK and making stuff out of pepakura and then hardening it and paitning etc. became my hobby. I am patient and I can endure hours of boring work.

I am trying to sell my work so that I could proove my parents that I am able to rpovide for myself.

I am hoping to become a proffesional prop maker when I am older, but for now it homework and a hobby in the garage ;)

PM if you have any questions and if you want to know something in particulard about me :D

BTW: so far I made a Crysis Nanosuit 2 helmet, Iron man mark IV helmet and Iron man Mark III arm. I can make things upon order ;)

My name is Michael M. I used to make prop in the 90's and now am getting back in the swing of things.

My movie interests are Sci-Fi and period movies.

I look forward to showing some of my work in a few months and maybe get a few tips from senior members.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello my name is Andy and chances are I might know some people here but not their RPF SN. I tend to do primarily video game related costumes/props and in the past did a few anime costumes when I used to go to Otakon but also would like to do more movie costumes. I do an Immortal with the 300DC costume group as well.

I have been going to Dragoncon the past few years and met Art there this year so I decided I should finally make a profile and get on here.

This was my very first costume. Vash the Stampede from the cartoon Trigun. My Vash gun is a Poseidon original from Japan. I also did a Dante
from Devil May Cry plus a few more costumes as well.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello guys,

im new here, who would have thought that:).
First of all I have to say, what all of you are doing is quite awesome.
I'm from Germany and coincidentally looked up this page. You have to excuse my english but I do not use it really often. Exactly since I left school, 5 years ago :lol.

I'm really inspired of the great work here and started some projects right now.
Currently I'm building the Iron Man Mark I arc reactor. It is taking a lot of time, cause im sculpting the main parts in wax and put it into investment material to cast it in metal. Preparing and polishing takes a lot of time. The internal ring I poured in a transparent acryl-polymer and taped it 10 times with 10 windings each.
The underconstruction is made of a platine, placed 10 SMD-LEDs on it. I hope I'll finish this project this weekend, and finally I'll show you my whole work. At the moment it looks quite nice:lol.

My other current projects are the Iron Man Helmet made of pep and yesterday I allready finished sculping my 300 Spartan Helmet.

Pictures in treatment...

Cya...

hey guys, I am extremely new to this. So that said, I am so impressed by the talent of the people making the armor and props. There are some very detailed and movie accurate prop and armor sets here that are absolutely unbelievable. Awesome work and i can't wait to try my hand at it. I believe that i will look for the blood dragon mass effect armor bc that is my all time favorite...

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello there
Found out about this site when i got into lightsaber building. Have been doing that for quite a few years now and really wanted to show the progress. I have made a total of 7 different sabers. 2 of them where given to friends of mine while others where destroyed for parts on other sabers.
I'm looking forward to your reactions
