Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Names Josh, i.e. Hackitt. I used to work in the Halloween prop shop for our city's premier haunted attraction building all the custom games, props, and scares for the houses. I love making costumes, and am currently working on a few, mainly a deadpool (i know over done) for our Comic Expo in April.

Hello everyone,
I joined because I recently purchased the UD replicas Dark Knight Rising suit and in my research I came across the site many times. I look forward to meeting many people and learning more about the field.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone, I am a new member.
I love to build things ,tinker and fiddle around :) I love working with wood my latest project was building my girlfriend a floor model tv fish tank. I love playing games and am just now getting ready to try my hand at blade smiting not sure how that's going to work out yet lol

I have all ways found it awesome seeing what you people do, all those great looking suits. I don't know anything about building them or making pep' files but would love to try and make a costume {might turn out a flop} who knows lol but I'll give it my best and try

I have been downloading some pep files from these forums past day and the viewer and going through them it's pretty cool stuff but i had a few questions. is there a easy way for me to scale them to say someone 5'7'' (like me) i seem to be getting that most pep files are mostly done unscaled or for someone 6'?

also i imagine I'd be told for my first costume to try a foam build rather a paper one that's resin or plaster built?

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Greetings fellow geeks and nerds! Been lurking here for a couple of months, decided to take the plunge and sign up.

Steve, from Georgia (USA, not the other one!). Been a sci-fi geek since seeing Star Wars premier in 1977 as a youngling. Love props and fantasy weapons, collect the real ones too. Pretty much if it's sci fi or fantasy I'm into it. Used to build model kits as a kid, grew up for a while (yuck) and lost my skills but now I'm getting back into it.

Awesome work here! Much inspiration...:)

Greetings everybody! The name is Jay. I made my way over here to The RPF via the Mandalorian Mercs. I'm fairly new to costuming. I completed my custom Legacy Era Mandalorian about a year ago. This was my first foray into the world of costuming and I have really enjoyed it. I am trying to broaden my costuming/prop making horizons.

Check out my work so far at http://www.facebook.com/bozving

Looking forward to getting to know yal!

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello all. I am a long time costume maker back from my days in the SCA. I now have 3 boys and therefore am constantly making super hero costumes, star wars costumes, etc. My hope is to post links to my tutorials here and find others who have done the same to continue the community of crafting/costuming. Constantly Crafting

Later!

Hi everyone,

My name is David and I'm an Art Director from Australia. I love geeking out over minutia so some replica prop builds would be right up may alley.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi All,
I've joined the Board because I like the depiction of future technology in movies and I find props, prop making, and prop collecting absolutely fascinating. I find the idea that a community built around the collection, building and discussion of Props totally Awesome. I've wandered around this board as a Lurker off and on for years. watching Adam Savage's Podcast, and seeing his energy and openness, and fostering demeanor, encouraged me to join. I cannot say I will build Props. There are several Projects here that I would love to undertake, in kit form, for sure. There are a lot of fantastic Craftsman here, and I hope to learn from them all, and hope one day in my own way to be able to lend a hand. I am an amateur wood worker / re finisher, and I make custom made smoking pipes. I am a Pipe Smoker for many years. I am also a musician, Computer Geek by hobby and Trade, and I have a Clowder of Cats. I am 47 Years old, and have earned every grey hair on my head.

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hi everyone,

I guess why I signed up is pretty much the same reason as most folks here. I'm a game artist by day, and I love building stuff in my spare time, but so far, only in 1/35 and 1/6 scale. I've always had an interest in 1/1 scale, and most of the cool stuff I've seen always seem to point right back to therpf, so I guess this is the place to find like-minded people =D

My interest is mostly in helmets. Weapon replicas, specifically anything with a trigger, are kind of hard to get where I am (Singapore). I've seen many inspiring works by master craftsmen, such as Volpin Props, and I look forward to the day when I can start building some of my own. Cheers, glad to be here =J

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

New Guy here...thanks for creating and maintaining this well appointed, luxurious website,ahhhh...(a supeerior choice, indeed, and the real Corinthian leather option?...simply decedant!) **Recardo Montoban voice** cyber community dedicated to all those things associated with collecting and displaying of replicas/rps/models/film-tv memorabilia[items regularly,or often, with historical and/or artistic pedigree--making them truly prized rarities of unequalled distinction]

Hey,RM/Fantasy Island Host/KHAAAAANNN!!! Instant bonus points on class,distinction,legitimacy...:facepalmSince this site, its membership, and its administration clearly do not require assistance in these areas,well...Khan will NOT receive a callback! (Cry havoc, and loose the dogs of war.)

Love this hobby, but finances prohibit my indulgance and nostalgic delight. (sigh) Have to "slum" it with various makes/models of franchised toy replicas.Even though I`m impressed as heck at the ART ASYLUM ST TOS Phaser from 90`s? MIB @ $28.80! Great detail for mass produced plastic "childrens" toys. Sound bytes are almost perfect!

Look forward to learning and enjoying this area of collecting from you all!
Regards,
Ur NerDaddy (aka "Hos" )

Re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello Everyone! My name is Christopher and I have actually avoided this site for fear of spending too much money in The Junkyard...but I was unable to resist the awesome skills of the members here! I on the other hand have no skills in props production but I love collecting video game related props. I have been working on my own "video game museum" for a number of years now and I am greatly looking forward to adding some fan made creations to it. :)

Hello everyone :)

My name is Luigi and i study aerospace engineering in University of Salento, Italy.

My passion for model and prop making has developed recently and I'm not a specialist of this field, therefore i have search for a good forum where i can discuss about problem with other expert of model making and show my works.

Greetings!

Hello, one and all! I discovered the site through the Tested.com Youtube channel, where Adam Savage mentions this site several times as a fantastic source of information. After watching one of the videos where he once again mentions RPF yesterday at about 5pm, I decided I should just pause the video and see for myself. Aside from a pause for dinner, I was reading threads and checking out awesome pictures until 3am!

I have already made a couple of Halloween costumes for my nephews, but nothing for myself. I briefly worked on a Cyberman costume from Doctor Who that was for my own use, but got distracted. When I went back to it, all the parts I'd completed had fallen apart. With all that I'm learning from the forums of RPF, I'm inspired to try my hand at a costume once more.
