Hi there,
My names Sam I'm 22 and from Canada. I found out about this site from the tested youtube channel (the "yet untitled" series where adam savage talks about things).

I've always made things since I was little and when I lived at home I used my fathers workshop a lot to make bigger things (mame cabinets, paint jobs on old computers etc).

I'm interested in getting into fiber glassing to make props from video games, so I thought I'd sign up and see what I can learn.

Hello im Denis, im 16 and from Germany.

I discovered Prop making when i was 14 and watched Iron Man, i wanted an Iron Man helmet and googled it, then i found out about Pepakura.
I built some Iron man helmets and made lotta mistakes, i did only the paper model and used no resin.

I built my first Prop in Summer 2012 when i was 15.
It was a Portal Gun, i started do built it, after i played trough Portal 2.

Here it is:

There i made some mistakes, but it was my first Prop built.

After that i made these Stones from Zelda:

And at the moment im working on this Portal Turret:

Im working with Cardstock Paper, hot glue, Epoxy Resin, Car Filler and Dupli Color Spraypaint.

I hope i can learn how to make molds and cast´s of my future props.

Hello everyone, my name is Michael and I'm from California. After searching countless hours on the internet looking for props from some of my favorite movies, (namely Iron Man and Star Wars) it seemed obvious to me that this site to go to and as such, decided to join this great forum. I do not have access to the internet as often as I would like, but hopefully can post more of my projects as time progresses


Currently working on: Iron Man Mark V suit, War Machine, and Clone Trooper helmet.

Hey all,
My name is Art and I'm from California. I haven't built any props yet, but I have closely studied stealth's and black dynamo's threads. I am starting an iron man helmet build. Just having trouble finding time between work, my daughter and married life.
I have created a Hush costume for comic con some odd years ago and am planning on making some wreck it ralph arms/shoulders for halloween. I will hopefully have something to share with you guys in the immediate future.

My name is Martin and I am from Germany. I found this forum by accident and now I'am addicted to foam building ^^. I'm an audio engineer and I needed a new hobby which has nothing to do with music...so foam building seems to be a great alternative to it. I recently started my fist build and I hope it will turn out just so awesome as the work of all the other members here...

Hi RPF. I am Chris and I hail from the south west corner of Australia. I had been lurking on this site for a year or so and thought it's about time I joined. I am becoming more and more of a Star Trek fan and slowing working towards making a few uniforms (TWOK and TNG). I had dabbled a bit in pepakura as well. I made a few 40K Space Marine helmets with the plan to do a full suit but gave that up when I fell for Trek.

I stumbled upon this site about 6 months ago, and what can I say, I'm hooked! The quality and detail of the creations on this site are amazing! In fact, by reading about people's builds I was inspired to take on my own project for Halloween last year. I think I did ok for my first attempt at a costume. I can't wait to be inspired again by the wonderful stuff on this site.
I live in Oregon and I'm a fan of such movies as Star Wars, LOTR, BTTF, you get the picture, I like good movies

Howdy,

I am new to posting on the site, and yet I have been reading for a few years now. I am looking at taking my hobbies to a new level. I have a degree in Sculpture, and am passionate about superheros. Prop Replication is one of the most fun and frustrating things I have ever done.

I ran a conference that had nothing to do with this world, but I just recently joined the creative team of a Local Convention. I am exited to learn what I can and hopefully I can assist with what little I have picked up so far.

Hi all. Well after reading and learning on here for the last few months I'm about to start my first GK blaster build tomorrow. Couldn't even begin to attempt this without help and advice from a lot of people on here. Can't believe how helpful and genuine everyone has been and hope to be posting some shots of the build too. I'll attempt to put up all my successes as well as fails ;-)

Hello All, my name is Josh and I have been lurking for a while just admiring your great work. I have a bachelor's in sculpture (mostly cast and fabricated jewelery) and am working on a Master's in orthotics and prosthetics. I am interested in prop making as a fun way to have a creative outlet in my spare time. I also love the problem solving that goes into finding the right materials and tools to make the props. I am also interested in the steampunk subculture and am planning some steampunk prosthetic costume pieces in the near future.

I'm Adam, long time lurker, first time poster. I have long admired all of the hard work that I have seen on this forum and have started working on some of my own projects. I am a mechanical engineer by trade and really enjoy any chance I get to make things. I have access to a machine shop and lots of CAD software and I am hoping to use those to my full advantage.

I am a fairly new member, having joined in Dec 2013. I am new to prop making. I have two projects on the go from the TV show Supernatural. My daughter and I are big fans of the show so I thought I would try my hand at a couple of props. I am working on the EMF meter and John Winchester's journal.
