Hello all! I found this forum while doing some research on reproducing a brass finish on PVC, and spent the rest of the weekend reading posts and looking at all the great work here. I have a lot of interest in prop-making; this looks like a great place to pick up tips and techniques. I look forward to learning from you guys and hopefully offering replicas of my own in the future. :)

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'm Jane. I've been lurking for several weeks and finally decided to post. I'm Jane, I make stuff. I have a Technical Theater Degree with my specialities being in Costume and Lighting Design. I'm mostly a sewer and a painter but I'm learning my way around making molds and props. I Used to do Re-enactments and Have done everything from Weave my own cloth to building a Viking Glass Oven out of Mud and bricks.

My Main "Squeeze" is Evil-Fx (David Carpenter) and since he's making an Mass Effect 2 N7 Suit for me, I've renewed my interest in Costume Design. I've learned quite a bit about Construction with EVA Foam from him (though he's a master). I look forward to learning much more as time goes by.

Cheers!

Hey all, long time lurker but I finally got around to actually making a post. I generally deal with paper props or historical costumes but I'm making a move to more physical props from fiction, especially from Terminator and Stalker. Looking forward to being more involved here.

Hello, my name is Joe and I am from Houston, TX. I love Halloween and use it as an excuse to dress up like my favorite characters. I found this site through a series of furtunate events. I built a very cheap proton pack back in 2005, since I have been Michael Myers, Frank Castle, and Cobra Commander. I cannot wait to start on my Shredder costume for this Halloween.

Hi folks, I'm Alan from the UK and I've just discovered this excellent site. I have a couple of sculptures I'd like to show you, one finished and one still WIP but I'm at work at the moment and due to the filtering here, can't put them on until later. Look forward to hanging out with you guys, looks like there's some great talent aboard.

Hello to everyone. I'm a highschool student from Ontario and I found this site by watching a video of Adam Savage on youtube when he mentioned it. I thought I'd check it out. I've been really into making my halloween costumes all through highschool. Ive made Edward Scissorhands, a Helghan and a Predator all out of things I had around. This year I'm working on making a Big Daddy from Bioshock. I've been using a lot of the methods of Harrison Krix from Volpin props. (he already made a pretty sweet big daddy). Well wish me luck. I'll be back with pictures when I'm Finished.

re: ** New Members: Please Introduce Yourselves Here! **

Hello everyone. I am new to prop building myself, but I have friends that are prop builders and they recommended the RPF forums to me.
My first prop I finished a couple weeks ago. A pair of the Ghostbusters Ecto Goggles. I plan to work on more Ghostbusters props to go with
my Ghostbusters uniform.

I look forward to reading messages and learning what I can to be a better prop builder.

Hi everyone. I've been viewing these forums for a while now but only just decided to register. I am fairly new to prop building, I own a few helmet kits (power rangers) and like a lot of people on the forums, I'm in the middle of an iron man build.

I'm still at university studying industrial design but right now I am working as an assistant concept designer (sounds more cool than it actually is). I really want to learn to sculpt props and busts so i think that may be my next project after my iron man pepakura bust.

Hi everyone,

Long time reader and lurker here. I really enjoy reading the build threads and prop discussions here.
I'm a 501st/RL member and have built some costumes for each. My prop and costume interests vary but I'm particularly fond of Star Wars, LoTR, B5, SG-1 and Indiana Jones.
I will be going to Dragon-con this year for the 3rd time. :cool Really look forward to it!. :)
Glad to be a part of this community.

Hey guys, I'm Adam, from the UK :) I only stumbled upon this site this week, and TBH Have no idea how I'd never been here before, this is like the Mecca of Prop building. I have nothing like the time and skill to make things on the level of you guys but I certainly hope to share in your process and maybe Buy some too :)

I'm a massive Star Wars Fan, prop and Film wise BTW.
